Most the weapons tend to be interchangable, it doesn't really effect your play style until you get the weapon specific joker at 35/55 then it leans more into a specific playstyle for the weapon.

Instead of the weapon specific joker being unlocked, have a passive that progressively gets stronger at level increments to replace one/both of these. Gives a more linear progression/strength to the weapons without needing to play for three hours with it before finding out you don't really like it.

For example:
Eagle Lever for the winchester: +5% damage up to +50% damage on consecutive hits could be:

  • lvl 0: +1% damage up to 10%
  • lvl 10: +2% damage up to 20%
  • lvl 20: +3% damage up to 30%
  • lvl 35+: +5% damage up to 50%

Just something for more linear progression. With how cheap the weapon upgrades are they tend to just be done in bulk and with 4 jokers the jumps in damage tend to be pretty stagnant before getting a large increase.

Once you hit 55 you can unlock a second passive, or swap between them. If both are locked behind the passive then you can increase the stats to make it stronger as they're now exclusive rather than being able to put both on the weapon at the same time.

@rough egret i like the visible power spike but it just feels weird being just done after 5 runs
