I'm imagining a stream around the hub area with a couple pans for collecting resources. A normal one for collecting gold, and an enchanted one for collecting souls, each giving one per use.
Basically, something for when you're a few resources short a purchase and don't want to go through a whole mission.

You go fishing, but there's only fish bones. Some are golden, some are haunted.
Either one works really.
