I got hooked on the playtest then the combo of ADHD and insomnia lead to me making a load of spell sets.. thought I'd share.. here's 1 of 4)

Faith: Spells the focus on support in an aura and smiting

  1. Holy Smite: Embue your gun with a golden glow. For 10 seconds your shots come out as bolts of light and do extra damage
  2. Pillar of light: a beam of light shoots down from the heavens dealing high damage to only enemies that enter it
  • COMBO: Holy fire - when paired with a flame spell the pillar of light ignites into holy flame doubling damage to enemies and healing allies in the space.
  1. Blessed sanctuary: Sets a circle of holy light for 20 seconds. Enemies in this radius take damage, and weapons of robots in the radius have unlimited ammo for the duration.
  2. Healing aura: a radius of holy light emanates from the user for the duration that heals allies over time.
  3. Resurrect: bring an ally back to life instantly with 50% health. Several minute cooldown.

Rev:Rend (as in Revision: Rend)
Released in line with the Faith spell set.
How to unlock: Rev:Rend is the quest giver at a church type location on one of the maps. He has three missions like Billy but about restoring the church. Complete mission one and you unlock faith spells, complete mission three to unlock Rev:Rend to purchase at the skin shop.
Design: He has a flat brimmed hat, a classic black shirt with the white priest dog collar thing, and a smart but damaged looking tailcoat jacket. Instead of a cross the religious iconography is a cog worn as a pendant.

I very much agree another magic tree type is needed, something to balance out voodoo so it's not the ONLY healing option available (and thus doesnt become a near-required pick for most builds).

I wrote out a "Sun Tree" design in another thread, so a lot of your ideas here I already very much agree with - healing, boosting weapon damage to give them more utility, etc. I think the common thread of us both seeing it suggests there's a real need for something like this!

This fifth magic tree could be Yellow color coded so as to not visually conflict with the other magic types (red, blue, green, purple). Orange is a little too close to red/fire already, so that's kinda "out"? Alternately could use White, but feels like that'd be annoying to visually make work.

I also love the wordplay in your Rev:Rend naming, as well as the unlock process for him - that's more detail than I'd considered elsewhere. I might suggest this holy tree is just available from the start like the other four are.

I see you've got a Holy Fire combo written, but I wonder if a dedicated Light/Dark combo with the Voodoo tree would make sense? One of those things where the balance is somehow stronger, I dunno. The voodoo tree's spells make combo'ing difficult, but I'd like to see it get SOME teamplay potential!
