Hello there fellow bounty hunters and maybe even Devs 🙂

I want to make a little series of idea posts introducing all kind of stuff like a stamina system (this post), different melee weapons and new joker ideas (in-game magic). Have fun reading! I will often look by my posts to see if anyone reacted somehow, I would love to have any interactions with y'all. I apologise in advance for any grammar issues, English is unfortunately not my native tongue.

Stamina system - the melee ammo
When I played the game I thought:
if a robo-wild-west game would have melee weapons what should they have?

It should be equal to any other weapon.
Now what does this mean? How can a sword be equal to a pistol?

  1. You need ammo.
  2. You need range.
  3. You need skill checks.
  4. In this game, you need a difference between primary and secondary weapon (or melee would become the third carried weapon (I wouldn't really like this option to be honest :/ )).
  5. You need Upgrades AND Tweaks.

Here I will discuss the ammo problem, introducing the already named stamina system:
Stamina would act as ammunition for melee weapons burning down when attacking.

How would you restore your stamina?
I have a few ideas:

  1. Eating ammo boxes, we are cLaNkErS after all... (either you say primary tastes salty and restores only primary stamina (???) and secondary tastes sweet and restores only secondary stamina (???) or you just have a singular stamina bar used by primary and secondary melees simultaneously)
  2. Restoring stamina whenever you chug booze.
  3. Introducing a new type of ammo - Gasoline

How should It be displayed?
As in the last segment, I have a few ideas:

  1. As a number between (1000, 500 or 100) and 0, would look just like ammo on the ranged weapons.
  2. As a symbol draining, something like a bar above health or a gasoline tank instead of the ammo-number.

If I forgot anything essential about this topic please make me aware of this 😁👍🏻.

Thanks for reading, have a nice day 😄

Btw, I will be most likely making one post per day

Actually this would be cool if there was some sort of melee weapon that isn't the fist.

#

Like a chainsaw or something, uses gasoline for more powerful punches

Damn, while playing the game and writing this post I thought only about medieval weapons like swords, daggers and things like this but a DUCKING CHAINSAW??? FIRE

The only problem is that melee is kinda a last resort.

#

And can be completely forgotten. Only a few situations do you ever really use it.

Yeah melee would have to be more viable as an option.

Most of it boils down to big AOE, DMG, and a little more movement

Gonna call this democinization: where characters slowly evolve into demoknight

analog lintel

Demoknight?

pearl flume
#

Demoknight is a subclass in tf2

#

It's like if you got a gunner and stripped him of his guns and gave him everything he needs to be a knight.

😂

#

Basically this is my plan

pearl flume
#

To basically be viable as a melee class in a shooter game

analog lintel

Cool, I will look at this example of a melee character in a shooter game closer to maybe work on my ideas more, thanks for your suggestion

Demoman is a pretty good idea

#

Just search up demoknight

#

Also gonna create my own melee idea

If there was a stamina system I’d completely stop supporting the game.

pearl flume
#

Yeah I don't really like it either

#

Also I made my melee concept

It really is just the fact melee doesn't need a stamina thing mainly because

  1. Melee is the worst option
  2. Can be completely forgotten if you pick up ammo from boxes.
#

I have played for like 24 hours and not once did I ever need to punch

#

Melee is like your backup tool, you're not gonna use a screwdriver if your power drill still works so why upgrade a screwdriver?
