I am quickly realizing they expect you to make a scout ornithopter. Lots of missions that suddenly require you to go across the entire map to complete, which is whatever. I'll cave and grab a thopter later.

the more complaints i hear about this game
the more i'm convinced they were under strict time pressure
like the complaints, are all valid to be clear
its a flawed game
but nothing i've heard so far has been a fundementally wrong choice in game design, just a balance issue or application of the wrong features that could(and really should) have been sorted out in QA
or the result of not playing the intended way(no PvP)
but also a mix of standard MMO-growing pains of nothing ever working right from the get-go
