Just watched Umamusume pretty derby season 3, Road to the Top, and Beginning of a New Era. My favorite is still season 2 with Tokai Teio and McQueen. I think the Road to the Top ova could have had more episodes to develop the characters and showed more of TM Opera O dominating the next year. Jungle Pocket and Agnes Tachyon were great in the movie.
Looking forward to the Winter 2026 anime season: Frieren season 2, Fate/strange fake, Trigun Stargaze, MHA Vigilantes season 2, Golden Kamuy final season, and may watch the new Samurai Troopers/Ronin Warriors.

I enjoy SMLN a lot for the character art and interactions
the battles are just fun side stuff for me
to me I eat up the relationships and "get fucked" moments of the more powerful and arrogant beings
which is why the power fantasy and scaling doesn't really bother me much
also literally the zero chapter sets you up for knowing the mc is gonna be super powerful and important since ||the world ending timer is counting down to under an hour and it's just him versus the floor boss that's killed thousands already||
So you're not going with with different expectations than what it is
In a similar sense, My Hero Academia does the same thing. Deku starts the story off at the end, narrating how he became the world's greatest hero. Just as an example of a popular manga/anime where you already know the main character 1. makes it to the end and 2. is going to get insanely strong along the way.

an issue I take with Omniscient Reader and many other stories like it.
the main character keeps getting stronger. bit by bit. but you never really get to see it. becuase the threats they fight scale so quickly and so ludicriously its just. kinda impossible to truly see the growth until they go on a pub stomp, and those pubstomps while fun it....
a more natural curve of "oh they're stronger now" would be nice rather than spiking higher and higher before returning to some previous area to obliterate.

my only real actual issue with Solo Max Level Newbie is that they keep calling people players. like this is some kind of video game still.
