#Starfield

on one hand, giving the game a chance to shine/fail on its own and let the dev's hardcore work(because this game is obviously a lot of work and while todd hasn't been super "out there" in love for it. you can tell he's really proud of it IMO) but also not letting modders do what they want ASAP is a bit annoying especially with the whole frame of bethesda games being modders paradises
honestly, I think its fine.
it gives people time to find what they dont like, and actually consider what mods are really needed.
In the end, thats my view as well
but i see both sides and support them in why their mad/miffed
yup
I think the game is fine, needs some work, but overall fine, 6 months and ittle be in a better state, and then modders will have a better idea of what they really need to focus on, instead of throwing mods at the wall and hoping something sticks.
but yeah, i'm really looking forward to the "Open cities" equivalent ohere
should be great fun.
Also, something i noticed but never stated
I just want someone to remove the damned walls between tiles.
New Atlantis is a dissapointment.
Its just big
New Atlantis is a bit of a disappointment in the whole setting yeah
However, i love Akila city
that city is amazing
yea just jump off the top to go to the spaceport
faster than loading screens
a little bit, it feels small for a "capital city"
Honestly Akila is my favorite city of all Bethesda games
To be fair, thats not a starfield issue. thats just a "video game" issue
yeah
And HopeTown is a sham of a town
Like only spiderman really felt like a real NYC
Hopetown overhaul will be cool
and Ryujin story overhaul/expansion
because that storyline is just... bad
Where is out Coruscant
I just want some more handcrafted locations.
modders adding their own massive dungeons, instead of generic lab number 785
Ive been to a LOT of labs.
As much as i love starfield(and i do love it, its my GOTY easily) the Ryujin storyline is just plain bad
maybe some prebuilt bases.
Those will be fun
things. handcrafted things.
I can't wait for custom factions
yeah
i can really see Starfield becoming a playground for sci-fi settings
and getting a massive amount of "semi-cannon" factions and builds
Like megacorps and smaller groups of people
currently have to ||go back after doing the ARC bug plant in Hopetown||, how far though am I?
halfway
Have not run into much in the way of syndicate involvement missions yet, and they have a whole huge hideout that I could just walk around
But yeah, compared to the vanguard's storyline which is heart-touching , Rangers story just being goofy fun and Crimson fleet's(probably the best one) being a classic heist. Ryujin's just.. falters?
and if you don't spec fully into stealth, get ready for HELL
my 40mm is ready
that weapon is so much fucking fun
oh speaking of stealth, apparently taking off your spacesuit helps immensely
when not in a vacuum at least
You can kind of see how much time they spent on New Atlantis
and it feels like that just kind of petered out as they developed other cities
New Atlantis is massive
and then all other "major" human cities? kinda super small
Neon is large in a very condensed way
but like
I would have loved if neon was underwater
a massive park
Neon I would say is the more fleshed out city
or new atlantis, given the name
maybe a massive dome with the outside planet being very dangerous
like
lol yea why did they use atlantis as a name?
I'm looking forward to what modders do to expand the cities and creatures, to be honest
I'd like to see more abandoned structures in the higher level areas, too
they're allllll over the place in the lower level areas
but I've only seen like 2 or 3 in the 50+ areas I've gone to
I can only see mod conflicts in their future. The game, especially in areas that are 'designed' like towns, would have little to no actual space for mods.
It would be a case of awkward doors everywhere due to a lack of 'open space' within the smaller areas, like for neon, almost every wall space is taken up, there are no 'long walkways'. Same for any of the major towns Akila, theres no 'free space to add buildings'
So either mods that add 'large things' add them in a completely different space, or it becomes 'pocket dimension' BS, especially if multiple mods decide one of the few spaces that 'makes sense' in a city like neon, becomes 5 doors stacked on each other in the same space.
Its not impossible but there is very little room for it to be accommodated and that lack of accommodation is going to be a major issue going forward if someone doesn't also then make a 'streets of neon' etc mod, which shifts the entire city around to have that dead space
I wouldn’t be surprised if city expansion mods happened first, then other mods have dependency on it.
The cities for what they are, are well done.
Except new Atlantis.
That place is just bad
The cities, all in their entirety, lack verticality. Especially for a game where you have a jetpack from basically the start. Only a few indoor areas have more than a second level in their height
I dunno, there felt like a lot of alleys were buildings could be added
yeah that part did suck
feels like they built the maps
then added jetpacks
Akila, where do you 'add' new buildings which isn't just 'doors to a ghost building on an already occupied one'
Neon is about similar, its just too 'compact' for what is supposedly 'a complete planet to expand on'
Half the reason 'everything in america is bigger' is because theres so much useless space no one has a use for
So why model the cities, all of them including 'the western town' after super compact, urban places, wheres the few main roads leading to individual buildings people would own, as oppose to semi-detached houses which implies 'space saving'
Simple reason for that, large space between things sucks
I know theres a major lack of land vehicles, but on the pretend that trucks existed, none of these 'futuristic' towns seem to care
Because people kept complaining that Skyrim and fallout 4 settlements felt empty and lifeless. So they shoved everything together instead.
And yet it is that exact space that modders need to be able to do things
I said it before and i'll say it again. Starfield is an overcorrection
Checks out.
Which, i can't entirely blame them for considering the feedback and discourse around Skyrim and Fallout 4
A lot of my issues with this game are issues, but i don't feel animosity towards the devs. more just like "oh i understand the situation you were in and... it sucks"
But also: fo4 and Skyrim were just old. New game design methodology evolved since then. Most of that complaining wasn’t actually constructive, yet Bethesda took it as such.
"Turns out a game based on a nuclear wasteland, lacks buildings and feels like major cities and objects are far apart"
Next?
See the issue there, is you’re using logic.
criticism and reception of criticism isn't based on logic yeah
and it feels like they got a LOT internally and externally
Yup
to be fair major cities are far apart in real life!

I think world design wise, 76 was a great step….. and then they yeeted it all out the window.
Some aren't
Others….. less so.
would be funner if i could become a cosmic nebula looking thing or turn into an alien

points at jetpacks
Why do we have these
What is the point of these.
It feels tacked on.
Dinga I use a skip jump pack. The ones that give next to no height because I’d prefer a bloody jump extender than crappy flight.
And personally
skip packs are the way to think about it/they would be PERFECT if they added a sideways dodge/slam as well
i had all 3 of the jetpacks
Two simple additions
I’d prefer a backpack.
being able to boost in small skips across a low-grav planet is fantastic
being able to feel superhuman by getting that brief jump above everyone on high-grav planets
for me, is awesome
it just needs a tiny bit more
See prior statement.
in the form of side to side dashes and a slam ability
once i got balanced boost pack i only had one basic one cause that pack was a nice pack state wise
An option for a boostpack or a real backpack is something I could see being modded in easy
im still going to be insane forever and want some vampire/werewolf thing going but starfield style
Yea got the option of making a character with alien DNA
Considering its been modded into BOTH skyrim and F4, yeah
I know, I just wish it was base game.
I’m sticking to vanilla for a while.
see now thats only boring im refering going all the way and just shapechanging into an alien why do you think i refer to the vampire/werewolf of skyrim
though yes i did choose the alien DNA bit for one of my things
That BARELY DOES ANYTHING. You can even get it just REMOVED.
Oh that’s good.
or if the powers allowed it just shape changing into comsic nebula entity for a short bit blasting things but that doesnt exist so far
And like, i'm 90% sure if you have the alien DNA trait it makes it bigger
Makes. What. Bigger.
DEFINE “IT”
you better explain what you mean
im immune to spoilers
Just DM me weegy.
you'll have to find out

Nah, the joy of it is finding out
Dinga you claw it out of him, tell me what it is later.
summon the talo pain engine!
also in a game of this scale (its a god damn big space) this is probably the dumbest thing to say for a game of this scale in my opinion as i think about it cause for all i know i could straight up miss it and perceive you as a liar and then when you finally tell me much later by that point i would be starfielded out and have no desire to return to the game

now i go see if google can tell me thing
i could of sworn i saw better ecliptic helmets
A lot of the armor is
Meh
I’m very disappointed the mantis armor isn’t more mantis like
Deepseeker set favorite so far
Need to invest in the environmental resistance perk so I can wear whatever armor I think looks coolest without having to worry about resistances
10/10 design, 0/10 execution
You know what? That will be the best mods for starfield. Cosmetic changes and additions to everything
Literally just making visors not show my characters face would be nice.
I don’t want to see their face, I want to see the blank void of the abyss. Staring back. Hungering. For chimkn.
I hunger
For pizza
"You can now build the mounted Ashta at your Outposts"
Wat
What
Are we getting animal mounts?
That’s sarcasm by the way
It obviously means a mounted to the wall sort of thing
Had my hopes up for a few seconds that I got something cool
Nice wall
I haven’t invested in outpost engineering at all, really
Or looked at what I can build decoration wise
Its just a house in Akila
I guess it gives you a fairly safe place to store stuff
Since you can sometimes lose stuff stored in your ship
Like that time I lost some apparel that was in a captain’s locker from a cockpit I deleted
It went poof
yea... don't do dat
Wasn’t in my ship cargo afterwards
Just gone
See, I shouldn’t have to worry about not doing that
That’s absolutely something that should have come up in QA testing
And should have been accounted for
okay so, the regen power is actually broken.
it does not in fact heal you AT ALL durring combat
which is garbage
and its not that I have it a low rank
its maxed out
its actually just broken.
One of the powers let's you heal for damage dealt to others
weegy Im on this buildings roof for the past 30 seconds and Im not healing
Oh okay
I think it might mean you regen faster from medpacks?
Or its broken
This games biggest flaw is it's shit at explaining things
and the MOMENT Im out of combat I start healing
no its pasive regen.
thats how the first function is
Which once again is the problem of overcorrecting from Skyrim and fallout 4s handholding
SKYRIM AND FALLOUT 4 DID NOT HANDHOLD YOU ON SKILLS
it told you what you needed to know
I just
uuuggghhhhh
either way, the things actually bugged.
Ive tried this repeatedly
and its broken.
I've heard lots of complaints that said they were too handholdy
because there IS a perk that increases medkit effectiveness.
and it specifies that.
regen is a end of tree skill meant to make you neigh unkillable and it DOESNT DO THAT
Not for me personally, but general thing is that people have complained that they explained too much/took the mystery out of rpgs
..... the mystery?
what mystery.
the game told me how things worked.
thats IMPORTANT.
The mystery of exploring and exploiting things
I'm not defending it, just explaining it
and Im yelling at the void that all my playtime working towards this skill is null and void because some imbicile forgot to actually test if they did the flag correctly
is there a bug report button anywhere in this game?
funny that.
not the button that crashes your game by linking you to their FORUMS and not even a form for the bug report, just their support forums
Cough, Wayfinder, Cough
There should be a bug report button though
I thought it worked mid combat though..?
I might have to go check that later on then, hmm
I've just gotten sick of bug report buttons that just link you to email or their forums on a browser or something
ITS SUPPOSED TO
IT SAYS "heal quickly durring combat"
I sat on that roof, with no negative effects that would traditionally prevent health regen for a good 30 seconds, the moment combat ends I start regening.
the thing is legitimately broken
Ah they've done the stupid thing that game studios have done
because I think they forgot to add the flag that durring combat you get a reduced effect.
steam?
their discord
oh FUCK THAT.
Which, isn't a developer decision, thats almost certainly a PR/Middle Management decision that fucks everyone over
Oh yeah
out of all the jobs they had, making sure the skills actually worked as declared, given their complete vague and useless state, should have been the one they actually did.
its worth getting pissed at
whenever I get to modding Im installing all the top QOL mods that exist. whole front page.
I dont care at this point how much conflict that will cause.
Im tired of this vague garbage.
First 20 pages XD
Honestly would wait on the QoL's
by the time I get there ittle all be condensed down to the first page
until yeah-exactly
Weegy Im doing this first playthrough completely vanilla
instead of 50 different tiny mods, just one big one
and then once proper mod support happens, Ill come back and mod the hell out of the game
and have a blast again
and hopefully MY SKILLS WILL WORK AS ADVERTIZED TODD
CHESS CLUB MAN
how is the Kodama a rifle?
thats clearly a machine pistol
thats not even a bloody SMG, thats just a machine pistol
MP5
I can understand the reasoning though, they didn't want to swarm with gun types
so its just
-Mining equipment(which is hilarious)
-Pistols
-Assault Rifles
-Sniper Rifles
-Shotguns
-Grenade Launchers
I didn't mean it should be its own new type
Im just saying it should probably be in the pistol catagory
or, there should be an SMG catagory
which wouldnt CLOG THE TYPES
again, I think, it was an overreaction.
they wanted to simplify things.
annnnd went too far
also the classifications barely mean anything except for their specific skills which, can I just ask, why?
why not do what they did in literally every other game, which is, have guns split into 2 types
heavy, and small arms.
well also explosive but that covered some other stuff
theres no need for the INDIVIDUAL seperate perks, when theres also a set of global perks for ballistic and lasers.
I just....
I feel like they dummed it down, and then went "oh crap we have a skill quota we have to meet"
welp, someone ping me once they fix regen.
because that was literally where all my 20 levels pretty much went
and without that working properly my build is a cripple
Handgun shotgun is a funny weapon
and improved it
a LOT
once you spec into it, its really cool
visually, could be more
Functionally, can change a single weapon into half a dozen distinctly different feeling weapons
except for losing the mod once you remove it, that the one downside
Yeah well I invested into a BROKEN SKILL INSTEAD. IM VERY HAPPY WITH MY LIFE CHOICE.
that the one downside
after I beat the game for the first time (been dragging my feet cause I wanna explore the world and at least complete sysdef storyline first) I'm gonna be doing a mining laser only character and an unarmed only character
Note, don't do to sleep on Titan
Shop refresh times are simple 😛
lol true, 2-3 hours and it refreshes
Honestly though? I dislike their method of doing all that
Theres space colonies, especially underground colonies, and they want to pretend like people can suddely stay up for 400 hours straight because the planet day length is different
I highly doubt on a normal playthrough that the player even actually sleeps from the start of the main quest till the end
I haven’t beaten it yet, but from what I’ve gathered, you can rush the main quest in like a couple hours, no?
Obviously no MQ spoilers
not sure, I said Hi and Bye to Sam and aint talked to him since
oh right I got the artifact you find with Anje or whatever her name is
I am worried as to ||why he needs to be safe from me||
alright at around level 40-50 enemies start carrying combat drugs and healing items.
took em long enough
quite honestly
dont ask me what Im doing in a level 50 starsystem at level 20
i was a level 10 in a 30 area before
well my build would be doing SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER if the god damned skill worked.
honestly Im considering just doing more leveling cheese to make up for the fact that my skill is actually legitimately broken.
I feel like thats fair play.
anyone else feel like that?
I feel like there will be bug fix updates (hopefully) but in the mean time, it’s not really cheese to go to higher level areas and kill stuff
That’s definitely the intended way
Quests and skill checks don’t give nearly enough experience to do so on their own
Maybe survey missions
If you go down the survey skills, which speed up the process immeasurably
No I meant craft steel frames until I get the level I want.
Killing things is absolutely intended.
Crafting does not net that much exp
It’s honestly just as efficient as what I’m currently doing
I am just bummed about melee weapons not being able to be modified
They made a tree out of it.
They gave some of the starting classes the specialisation of it
And then... You gotta farm for better weapons
no matterial changes possible , no additional modules to be added for it
It do be sucky
The best melee weapon I’ve found so far is a Va’Ruun Painblade
Dealt like 100 ish?
I was told that guns with the bashing affix can do bonkers damage though
I’m on the last stretch of the ||UC SysDef/Crimson Fleet|| quest line. I already decided to side with ||SysDef|| but I had to get off because my dad wanted to watch a race on tv. I spent all night trying to get through that quest line and now I just wait another day to do so. I’m sooooooo looking forward to finishing it, though
I would finally like to ||get experience from fighting and killing pirates|| again
My dad was very surprised at my level when I went to save
I’m level 53 and still on my first playthrough
First playthrough? You mean there’s ng+?
question is does it force into new game + or can you save it for later

very helpful tips
or, and hear me out, just.... brute force it.
I mean those tips are nice sure, but, brute force go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
i mean
the difference is spending upwards of an hour trying to complete a planet
or 5 to 15 minutes
true
Like, it’s not even that hard to get the levels needed for the two perks that speed up your scanning the most, which are the ones that give more resources and scanning percent for flora and fauna
The scanning range is really nice though
Something he doesn’t mention is that if you’re ever struggling to find some of the rarer resources, they almost always spawn in caves. You can actually find most resources that are on a planet in a cave or two
is there a way to do mass output links?
or am I really going to have to do this INDIVIDUALLY
I think, they didn't really intend for someone to build 200 someodd crates to store aluminum and iron in.
just.... just a feeling.
did you use crates
or well. 300ish actually.
oh okay
I think. I figured out a better system, Ill link all the CRATES together, then just hook the harvesters into the first of the chain
that.... that makes sense.
right?
Is top down really easier to do it in, I would be doing it first person from a distance using the toggle view hotkey
top down is reasonably easier IMO.
I havent done it a ton in first person, but top down has seemed a lot easier, well ecept for how slipperly the movement controlls are, but otherwise yeah.
okay I think, finally, thats everything. probably.
I think.
so theoretically
that should be done
god that was awful
The most important mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/1796
How DARE THEY
Im glad Ive rediscovered the power of venus
my main home base is absolutely going to be there.
or well, the base I put all the nice decorative stuff anyways
1 hour there is 100 hours outside.
or well, less for where my own current crafting base is given thats at 12 times universal speed, so really its only about 8 hours outside, but still, pretty potent.
compared to getting 1/12th of an hour outside
at least, I think, thats how this stuff works
I got no idea
starfield didn't BOTHER TO EXPLAIN IT EITHER
alright now instead of mass crafting for XP, Im mass crafting for money!
yay!
look Al and Fe each sell for 1 each
the hting you craft out of them sells for 3 each
thats a 1.5 times multiplier on income
does autocrafting net xp too?
oh you just mass crafting from bulk storage?
I just know that you can sprint forever and it doesnt kill you, so I just need to hit up every major city and sell to all their merchants.
yup
its.... painful
but it also means I don't have to deal with auto crafting.
worth it.
look setting up this barely functional supply chain to BEGIN with was hell. IM NOT DOING IT FOR AUTO CRAFTING. YOU CANNOT MAKE ME.
and if in the process I get enough perk points to max out the science tree SO BE IT.
I just want a nicer starship already.
also maybe maxing out the piloting skill.
big ship go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
look theres a lotta skills I want and I need a lotta money
so, this will honestly work out
fairly well
probably
If you wait a little over 24 hours in a chair next to a merchant with a lot of creds (like a trade authority), you don’t have to do all that sprinting
the sprinting is me figuring out where the hell the trade authority is.
do you know how hard it is to navigate when your healthbar is constnatly in the red and your screen is flashing and wobbling because you are 90% dead because you thought it was a good idea to lug around 9000 weight of stuff?
LEMME TELL YOU, THE SPRINTING IS JUST FINDING THE PLACE
but thanks for the tip
also double checking, the data thingies you get from fully analyzing planets, thats just for selling right?
those serve no other purpose?
its just free money right?
Im gonna assume its free money.
Yup
just make sure you dont sell to anyone but Vlad
whos Vlad

raider. would you like to see my quest log?
Vladimir , your fellow Constellation member
up on the Eye above Jemison
not shown is "the old neighborhood"
I HAVE DONE NOTHING. BUT EXPLORE, GRIND, AND SLAUGHTER.
also Im piss with names.
Ive got this woman who will not leave me alone until I do the MSQ for her.
You havent found the Vanguard patrol member yet then
Wait so I need to buy those surveys back……
im also pretty sure its 48 hours before the stores get all there money back
Don’t I…..
cause ive waited 24 hours and they were still poor
It’s 48 universal
So .5 hours on Venus.

Raider have I softlocked myself?
Pretty sure you already lost money then
Vlad buys for double other merchants but buying them back I think will cost more than double the normal sell price
they dont even show up when im selling stuff those surveys
Well I tried to buy them back and the game literally didn’t let me…. God damnit where’s my last auto.
like i looking at my stuff and they dont show up then i look at my inventory normally and there they are still all in my bag
Been collecting any books btw?
i did collect books
then i stopped cause trade want no paper little cheap ass buggers
nope!
There is a vintage book merchant in Akila who will buy certain books for 2k each
working on saving up 350ish grand, and getting the ability to drive C rank ships
me killing vanguard every so often when they land to re-rememeber i cant take there ship

Sooooo reloading last manual save.
And since I’m reloading might as well get nice and big aluminum stack
Wooooooo
Waiting around
Todd Howard’s waiting system still sucks
Woup woup
Waiiiiiiting
i find it to be fast waiting 48 hours
I don’t need each hour to tick by
also great i only have to wait 1 hour to fully heal
Just SKIP FORWARD

I’m having to wait in 24 hour segments
It gets tiring.
Wait have you had Sarah tailing you this entire time, nit picking every time you pick something up while encumbered?
Yuuuuuuup
This ENTIRE TIME
It’s not 48 hours. It’s a little over 24. Yes waiting just 24 isn’t enough, but doing a couple more hours past that does the trick for me
WOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I knew you’d say that

There are companions you could have who aren’t annoying assholes when you’re overencumbered though
im just doing all the main quest stuff to get powers probably complete it and then go on to do other stuff
Yeah well, the one guy I wanted to recruit isn’t possible to recruit.
Do the quest and you can leave her In the Lodge
Hey gurm, there’s a power that gives you infinite oxygen for a time
And?
I can handle the screen
still sad there is no become nebula star man power
Just wanted to make sure you knew how much suffering you were doing
This ain’t destiny
see im find cause i have controller and can controll my walking speed to a jog
Also void was a stupid warlock subclass. Fire was where it was at. Gliding around, gunning people down. Good times.
Void supreme
consider how those guys look they might as well of come from the destiny verse
i randomly found one at the atlantis bar
Bruh what
wasnt sure at first so i saved then shot him
Bruh
so see if they did the thing
wait a min im really early game and he was just there
Like how did you suspect it in the first place
Is this about the guy all in black, talks philosophy with ya?
i looked at the guy and stopped thinking "wait a moment"
so just to be sure i saved and shot him to see how he would react
and he did things
Idk but I wanted to recruit him and the internet told me no and I’m upset.
ive done all the research that doenst require levels in the specific perks but i need to eventually need to put points into them
cause i want to make a good base and unload all the people i dont want onto it
why would I want to be nonleathal.
WHY ARE DELIVERY SHIPS SO GOD DAMNED SLOW
theres gotta be a way to upgrade these PIECES OF GARBAGE
i can only imagine the nonlethal bit being used to kill robots better
its why i got that good EMP gun in my chest but slowly getting ammo for it
can you just have random crew follow you about
JAZ! YOU KNOW THINGS! IS THERE A BETTER CARGO LINK.
DEAR GOD I NEED A BETTER CARGO LINK
Cargo link?
you mean normal cargo compartments?
the stupid cargo thingies
For what purpose
that take things from one bit of a planet to another
this stupid thing.
I need one thats faster
Nope
god damnit
you can stack them cant you?
ive seen people stack MANY
you can have 3 intraplanetary ones, and I think 3 interplanitary ones
or no, just, 3 total.
the hell is with that.
maybe its some upgrade or something
idk.
guess ILL BE BUILDING A THIRD
this system is so stupid
welp there goes the third cargo link
Yaaaaay
There’s basically 1 more thing I could do, but it wouldn’t increase throughput. Probably. I think. I don’t know.
This game never explains anything ANYWAYS
okay I THINK
IVE CRACKED IT
ALRIGHT
SO
ships HAVE TO LAND, to give resources
they do not do passive transfer
even if you are off planet halfway across the galaxy
waiting does not automatically transfer resources.
at least, with the intraplanitary ships
which basically means, every time I rest, all I was doing was just WASTING TIME
Okay. I’ve…. Theoretically optimized it so that now all ships should be taking full loads
Meaning, no more waste
I think
Probably
I love that we’re decades in on this game engine and you can still rob NPC merchants blind by placing pots over their heads
technically its supposed to be a new engine with the same name.
but yes
they programmed actual LOS mechanics
which is pretty nice.
I generally only steal from people that deserve it
I’m not following a role play super closely but I generally try to follow the background I chose, which was ronin
So, sword for hire/working to help people
Gotta play the lawful neutral merc
why steal from then when I can make them purchase all my garbage for a massive markup and then buy out their shop
look Im just saying that I can sell adaptive frames for 4 monies instead of 3 these days.
or well, close enough
commerce is a good skill
Ive got more perk points than I can reasonably spend right now.
honestly I just want a few specific things maxed out, buuuut my money making method gets me XP, soooo Im probably going to be supremely over leveled by the time Im done with all this.
HAHA! ONE THIRD OF THE WAY TO MY SHINY NEW SHIP
only..... a lot more pain and suffering ahead
after I spent a ridiculous amount of credits just building out the basics of a ship, I decided getting commerce would be a good priority if I want to make a neat figher/cruiser
I eventually wanna make some UNSC ships
might look up guides for it, cause I'm sure there are people already having done so
I’m just buying a big ol prebuilt C class. Because the ship building mechanics made no sense to me.
that’s valid. I understand them, but I know others have been struggling.
I really want to do two things
I want to make a giant bulky ass frigate/hauler type ship
And I wanna make a min/max fighter ship
im only really needing it so i can eventually get the ship i want
unless while im doing piloting stuff i somehow find and steal the ship i want that is

only reason my ship looks weird is cause i got the mantis and only did basic level stuff like adding an engineering, workshop and science room to it
i dont have any levels in ship design
yet
I just realized, and now I cannot find any examples: Are there cybernetics/prosthetics in starfield? I know there is the Cyberneticist background, but I don't recall seeing any visible implants or replaced limbs
not yet
it does give me knowledge to respond to things though
its also like how i learnt i can get my alien DNA removed but no sane person would ever do that
kind of? there's a facial cybernetic that improves your intimidation, persuasion, etc etc
I don't remember what it's called exactly, but you can find a shop selling them in neon
it's just a few pieces of metal on your forehead and/or cheek
I am level 49, and I havent done a single quest yet
basically all of this has just been from craftin
yay craftin
Bruh lmao
You’re like that dude that grinds to max level in kingdom hearts on destiny island by just fighting wakka over and over again
Look I’m not that crazy! I’d wait for at least the first proper zone to do that.
Well the thing is, it takes a bit to get the proper enemy spawns in the first proper zone
But on the island, you can just sit there deflecting wakka’s attacks
It’s essentially a rhythm game at that point
Now I wanna play kingdom hearts
But I can’t
Don’t have it anymore
There’s a magazine in the UC Vanguard Pilot Simulatuon area
There are food recipe magazines
They definitely have set spawns in dungeons
I find them in the same place every time for each dungeon set
cerain PoIs have fixed random mag spawns, and there are dupes
now if they stack I don't know but I doubt it
be awesome it they did though
lovely
Unlike in other games by Bethesda, I have yet to find a menu that shows magazine stats
Also where the magazine stand/rack?
Starfield does feel like things were overlooked
Very important things
And very small things
👍 on both accounts
the uhhh silent runner is uhhh..... big.
very..... big.
like I can make my own drugs on this thing.
whatever madman at bethesda made this ship, thank you.
I can literally power this entire ship all at once, and I STILL HAVE TWO POWER TO SPARE
AHAHAHAHAHAH
UNLIMITED
POWER
and this entire ship, includes the grav drive.
look man Im only level 65
and have done effectively no quests
look, the silent runner is expensive!
but its got auto turrets!
and a massive shield
and missiles
and 6000+ cargo space as default
The uhhhh….. uhhh…. I forgot.
Bruh
Homesomething?

Some city
HopeTown?
Costed roughly 330k, but I’ve got mercantile perk rank 3.
Yeah!
YOU TAKE THAT BACK ABOUT MY BABY!
I WILL SKEWER YOU!
I guess I can’t say shit though cause the ships I’ve made so far are also fugly
SHES PRETTY IN HER OWN SPECIAL WAY!
I’ll get back to you on that, gotta fight the elder mist
Have fun!
I just wanted a giant ship with stupid storage capacity, and they were sellin one.
Reminds me of the good ol days of galaxy on fire 2.
Used to do so much mining and trading in that game.
Was that a single player or multiplayer game
seeing as you cant tell use where you got it!
Single.
I JUST DID.
well now the i want is apparently in resort land when i was thinking it was in a different place

im not ready to buy a ship yet (unless i happen to somehow steal a ship) but one of the ships that interest me one was at paradiso
Gurm
Show us your perk tree
I wanna know what all you took after all that grinding
all 5 images of every perk tree line
Yuuuuup
Time for starfield
Doing the UC Vanguard quest line
Love me some terrormorph experience
Those things give so much
I would highly recommend anyone even just start the quest line, you get access to more ship parts at the technician after you complete the ||propaganda hall and pilot simulation|| portion
if only i could do some hybrid terrormorph DNA thing and just turn into one temporarily
welp i finally found a zero G place
I’ve played for many hours and only found 1 combat zero g place
With the build and the motion-control short film wrapped, Norm, Joey and Josh put together this sequence to showcase the work of our incredible build team in yet another way. Enjoy!

the weird one for me was i got aboard a ship but it wouldnt let me in the airlock so when it lifted off i fell out of it
I passed out. Gimme a moment you’ll get it.
@civic drift there. muh build. woo.
and theres the ship for dinga who is too lazy to GOOGLE THINGS.
is that the ship you got or the one i was talking about getting?
im also pissed cause i nearly got to steal a ship like this but then for some reason i couldnt get in the airlock so i phased through the entrance part of the ship
the ship I got
also the last 2 free points have gone into jetpacking
ive been killing all the hard things with lasers
unless im sniping stealthing then im using my only good long distance rifle cause its silenced
lasers go
i do need to put points into rifle though cause i like laser rifle sniper
counter point. rod from god.
No they scale
the reward gun absolutely didn't
the reward gun was a piece of low level garbage
the XP absolutely scaled
the gun
did not
you idiots did this for skyrim, how is that so hard.
whatever. maybe NG+ will fix it or something.
also doing the paradiso quest..... well now this is awkward.
No?
It scaled for me
the Rangers Deadeye scaled when i nabbed it later in the game vs what its suposed to be
Maybe only certain quests scale
maybe
because I got a unique gun..... that was just a basic rifle
or well, it had the stats of one
I think
idk maybe Im just too used to powerful single shot weapons but that damage number feels a bit low
Yup, because thats one of those 'named' weapons they intentionally put there
Because those don't deserve weapon scaling
yeah
the uniques, that are garbage
hopefully someone can make a "unique uniques" for starfield like they did for skyrim, and fallout 4
I can't stop meming the mix of overwatch and starfield with 'experience tranquilitea'
Help
No can do
Hmmm...?
@mild bridge there is this skill
I forget if you went over the fact it gives you 6 instead of 3
Also there could be Crew that have a skill for that, for further boost
To be fair I hadn't opened the game for literally a week and a half
No I’m upset because I went over the skills looking for things that might help
The fact that I repeatedly missed that upsets me
Not you
I did a help?
Gasp Slander
Read your perks
I DID
There’s also a perk that increases your crew amount on your ship
'increases' to a cap. I really don't get why they limit it when they don't seem to serve an actual use on the ship
The game REALLY hates me entering a random structure that happened to have crimson fleet, who I happen to be allied with for now; so I can walk in and take anything.
But then I set all the combat drones to 'protect current user' and the drones WON'T SHUT UP with "This area is off limits, you need to leave" to the crimson fleet members, who are technically 'allies' but also deemed 'enemies'
I have 5 drones all talking over each other, to this one crimson fleet guy
Probably to make your ship feel more alive/have access to more companions at once I guess? Idk man.
My issue is more with the cap stopping at 8 for like, no reason
they give you access to ship skills they have
which means you don't have to put points into those skills
Oh right Gur doesn't do quest missions, was half deciding that the two special people you get for returning after finishing the first few main quests for outposts, didn't give Gur outpost management
Since that person is L3 outpost management
Dunno, just never felt like the crew did anything
And since Gur had issues with the pads with a quest NPC 'existing', I defaulted to none of them working
Gur wasn't always anti main quest, its just a phase 😛
Nah, its quite interesting how far Gur can go, its a good mentality especially for some game testers
No I’ve always been like this.
Define how far? I could be rocking up to level 75 zones if I wanted to. I’ve got the relative firepower for it.
Quite honestly I plan to do basically everything i possibly can before doing the MSQ.
This includes creating a massive shipping empire that unloads all the materials I could ever want onto one base.
This would mean I’d have to mass ship HE3 to other planets but we all know how simple that is.
All I really need is some way to filter things so that I can always have each material flowing and never completely clog,
This game did plan for mass automation right?
No
Even though the MQ gives you ||space powers||
You’re still gonna avoid even a little bit?
Yes
I really should bother to complete the MQ shouldn't I, increasing XP gain I'm L250 or something stupid at this point and I've not gone and done it
I don’t care about redacted, I care about being AN UNSTOPPABLE JUGGERNAUT!
The milestone system really is an unneeded slowdown with how heavy it becomes later game
It is bothersome.
Some L3 perks, I can earn in a single space fight
Some L1 perks take literally hours to qualify for
I am the george one.
Yup!
It’s like they tried to improve the fallout 4 perk system but somehow made it worse
at least its not outer worlds
Now see, outer worlds actually had an interesting (if flawed) system
I just found it... generic
Especially with the “take negative traits to get bonuses”
just all "+10" and stuff
having a somewhat unique system like starfield, i'd take over a numbers thing
Eeeh
I’d have preferred just the fallout 4 tree without the level requirements
No need for arbitrary milestones
I kinda like the ideas….. but it needs a rework
Then again so did FO4s
So ya know
Modding!
Modding
Look we all know skill tree reworks are coming. Hell I never play Bethesda games without em.
They aren’t great at making skilltrees.
It’s passable, but not good.
Then again my standards have been completely broken ever since I played POE
Path of exile?
The (debatably) worst skill tree in existence
A skill tree so UN-user friendly that the guides for explaining it also somehow ALSO manage to be un-user friendly
I love the Poe skill tree
It’s so big
So many options.
THINGS!
MIN MAXING!
POWER OVERWHELMING!
Best looking Mill Falcon I have seen so far
https://www.reddit.com/r/Starfield/comments/16mxz8w/its_the_ship_that_made_the_kessel_run_in_less/
Nice
well back to starfield to do things the hard way
or.... easy way....
idk.
Im doing them a way
alright so anyone looking for effectively an all in one system, Nikola's planets have just about every physical metal. only one I couldnt find was titanium.
so ya know, that place is real good
Titanium is one of the major ones
also XP is atrotious
well, then find a titanium planet.
look Jaz, the place has Uranium AND Plutonium.
I have multiple, but I lack the titanium to build extractors
....... well now thats embarassing
have you tried akila city?
they've got a great mineral specialty shop
This is starfield gameplay
It's finally out and it looks so good, I love it so far. Please subscribe and like the video, thank you!

Best Digipick merchant I've found so far is the electronics store next to the trade authority in the well
anywhere from 3 to 10 digipicks per restock
Reliably restocks every 24 hour local time wait and he will sometimes get out of his chair, so you can just sit in it to wait
otherwise, there's a bench just outside or in the trade authority
good to know, always want more
also that reminded me I need to go do a job for the other guy in there
I also need to do that job
But that will have to wait
Currently doing various UC stuff
UC story lines are surprisingly interesting
I think they leaned into the whole sci fi cowboy thing with the Freestar Rangers too much and that’s why I wasn’t finding their quests interesting
Do the job for the other guy there.
want too
but game crashes hamper mood
god damn bases in this game are so annoying to setup
I just....
the fact that I cant just make one base that has everything
is real frustrating.
I just.... all I wanted. was to just have one mega base, on some nice planet somewhere.
but as of right now, it feels like all Im doing is just suffering.
one thing after another after another
and its all never quite perfect
because the game never actually says enough information
and I just.... its slowly breaking me.
legitimately I hate the base building in this game.
I could stand it for FO4
but this game..... its just agony.
can you not just setup outposts that ship things back to a cental hub?
no thats the issue
thats what I want to do
but then, I need to get HE3 to all those planets
and getting HE3 to all those planets is a nightmare
because HE3 setup is hell if you want to actually produce and ship it off
send H3 out?
raider I have not found a planet that both produces some of the resources I need, and HE3
so Id have to import HE3 to that planet
my bigger issue, is that again, the game never actually EXPLAINS ANYTHING.
and I just....
uuugghhhh
and I suspect the cargo link ship need H3 as fuel, unlike our own ship that gets magicly refilled on landing
yup
each cargo ship link that is not just planetside, needs HE3
I just.
what I really need to do
is to just, farm up a ton of money, and buy out rock shops over and over and over again.
so I can just do these bases in one shot, instead of doing this weird square dance of back and forth
anyone remember the neon local time to universal time conversion?
akila city got a good mineral store just inside the city
second store on the left I think
yeah but I want one where I can wait a short period of time
Akila you need to wait 42 local hours give or take.
good point, not sure the wait times there
Im gonna try neon
thinking about it NA doesn't have a mineral store, or do they?
oh you know what I really probably should do.
yeah Im being stupid
I should actually research the base building skills.
as in like max out outpost engineering, and then ya know, research the associated projects.
that would be smart
probably save me a lot of time later.
alright time to tear down everything I just did
cause Im gonna come back and do it better
yeahhhh Im gonna max out the outpost skill, research all the thingies from it, then go back and build these outposts properly
neons wait times are also, terrible
maybe cydonia???
don't think they really have a mineal shop
supposedly the UC exchange is filled with stuff
ahh only been in there once for a quest and only looked at the equipment they had
yeah no idea.
welp
guess its Neon for mineral buying
only requiring a wait of 32 hours.
ish
give or take
good thing people don't age in Bethesda games
yup
