Don't forget that the elevators put you into a loading zone, while having the whole city loaded anyway

You can go up higher and boostpack down to lower levels without loading screens

For a laugh I tried boostpacking off the hydrodam in the first city or whatever and managed to get to one area the elevator takes you to which has no actual important NPCs, shotps or anything, its just like a small dead end 'nature walk' type area

And from there I could boostpack back down further to the main city

I just really wish they cared about removing the countless loading screens by having the airlocks to some level of detail loading

Way too many places with blast door/airlocks have loading zones when it would be just as good to just make it take a second to go between areas

That will take you down to the Well district

I get the whole locking stuff behind perks and all that, but every upgrade is locked behind a level skill point, a research and then crafting

The person who had their post thing posted in this chat that was recognised for being a part of the dev team I kinda feel bad for, since they did all the clutter design only for half of it to be completely useless. People are less likely to long term focus on half of that design if there isn't anything of value there

The game doesn't care that you have to delete a gun on the bottom part of the ship since you can't move objects on the Y level to snap them on a higher object, you have to delete the part and buy a new one

There are three movement modes, walk, jog and run, capslock is the default toggle for walk/jog
Functionally the only thing impacted by a stupid amount of weight is how quickly the sprint drains your stamina, the jog/walk are still generally fine and not slowed

Only downside is you are limited to one jump

Your character will stun themselves if you jump while hitting max red stamina

There is a sort of stamina debt which will stun you for a good 5-10 seconds

You only risk insanity by the AI not shutting up for every few items you pick up

I don't know the technical stuff, but it's a rendering software/technology for Nvidia graphics cards that's typically on new game releases, but starfield some reason only came with the AMD version

basically improves performance with blackmagic techno wizardry

The main issue is kind of nothing to do with what you think I would say
Having experience dealing with people who complain about it constantly, youtube 'learns' what content your channel puts out, in games this is generally the channel being assigned a 'genre' which people who have looked into will get recommended.

That channel there, while they focus on all the 5 minute attention videos and broken content and flooding their feed, don't have space games on that list. They have RPGs, they have all of those other things, but the mecha genre might not be adjacent enough.

Thaat means their video gets pushed to less viewers, and if those viewers don't click, the video generally won't get pushed further

Turns out Baldurs gate, Diablo, Monster hunter and those kinds of 'fantasy' games, don't build an audience with a clickthrough rate on space RPGs

It can be super hard to pivot if a channel say at 50-100k subs, built it off one specific game. To some degree you are better off advertising a new channel, than to try and change the games on that channel since you get punished for 'inconsistent content genre' to a degree

This game reminds me of the stupidity of space RPG games compared to RTS space games

I have a ship, with missiles, plasma beams, IR beams, etc
Yet I can't land and fire them at a building, I have to land facing away from the location and go in with my limited ammo guns

But in an RTS, you have bombardment squads for taking over planets, like stellaris or something

I have windows, I have an I7 7700 vs the min I7-6800K, I have 32GB ram against 16GB, I have Nvidia 1080 above the 1070TI they ask for

All on an SSD, with 80GB of free space from when I had to clear enough space to download the game twice over

And all of these crashes are inconsistent, some happening seconds after I enter a new zone, some being 20-30 minutes into clearing a base

All of them however, seem to be at least 3 hours apart

Since they kept happening nearly every 3 realtime hours without fail

The game has decided to do a ||colony generation ship overtaken by FTL, late arrival to colonised planet|| storyline, the initiating component to it is regarding ||the communications system of the ship is too old and low tech to function|| ignoring how we can't invent a new kind of radio frequency, the whole justification of the plot completely falls apart due to the fact that ||the ship has high tech components to loot, digipicks, positron batteries, etc||

I'm also completely ignoring the fact that there would be massive contamination issues, likely killing everyone in the entire galaxy and beyond

i also have hate sometimes it feels rigged and gives you a lock that none of the bits will fit!

I've never run into one that I didn't solve with more than one or two undos tbh

no undo will fix this unless you straight up reload

i was already saving before i messed with locks but it helped alot when i ran into that problem

i just now one where i had a single bit that could only go into ones with only 1 slot and it appeared twice so i couldnt even unlock the damn thing because of that

no ingame undos would help me there

Oh and apparently this quest does the one thing I dislike, and thats completely ignore the concept of character skills/levelling
You receive a fixed ultimatum, no persuasion checks, no nothing, you are told to pick two negative options, or to pay for the good option.

Well unfortunately for this little slice of paradise, I'm the sort of person who needs payment to keep my mouth shut from the reporters

i was tempted to put a silencer onto one of my weapons but i really want to wait till when ive researched more

i only put a better battery thing on my laser rifle for the moment

it didnt seem like i was able to take a part of one gun and put it onto a similar weapon

Fun fact, if you start a warp with minimal warp power and it does the whole animation thing, you can point your ship at whatever you want, the game doesn't lock your controls

Oof so you can sequence break a bit and not in a great way. So for Constelation ||after you do their intro quest you get another quest to follow some leads one of which is talking to Vladimir. However if you decide to explore and stumble into the task he'd have sent you on the a planet the game just assumes you talked to him and it reflects in your dialogue||

One thing I'm noticing is that since misc items can't be broken down like in Fallout it's leading to a lot more of these locations being functionally empty. In f4 I left nothing behind because I could break it down at a workbench tro craft with. Here I spend time checking and rechecking for items I can actually use. Spending more time for less benefit

Like sometimes you get a dogfight thrown in there but they don't really do anything for me. Much prefered NMS space combat
