Valheim is tri-based terrain with a hidden underlying voxel grid for snaptos on the building . It's always going to be a bit wonky when terraining, as a result.

fjords are hard you go out then raise ground and attempt to build foundations and hope it doesnt break once you reach the needed height

Ok so I'll aim for less of a balcony in the workshop and more of a central platform you can jump down from the edges, then you can have a sort of donut in the warehouse for storage plus you then have a central room under the workshop top center that you could put some basic food/home stuff in
So ground floor, a donut with a room in the middle, shelves on the walls, and stairs up to the workshop space on the floor above ground level

While I expect people will make outposts of their own, hopefully with teleporters enough to allow people to get around quicker, basically everyone is welcome to the great hall we'll be building for everyone along with the warehouse, where we might want a requests board or something to make sure people don't just spend higher level materials if we plan to outfit a more combat-focused squad. Hopefully I'll have more than just the beekeeper and the quartermaster to keep me company; but otherwise the plan is to get enough food to let people try out what they'd like without a risk of failure

thankfully it has a magnetic plate for weights (i dont even know how to use the weights that came with the mouse though) and I just lifted that sucker off and clean the hair out

From memory I think you can get like 4-5 roof tiles distance with just log supports, so unless they've changed something major that seems overkill lol

I usually pay attention to what is connected to what with clipping, because the foundation is all that matters and using the diagonal supports lets you clip extra roof tiles
Sometimes theres multiple places to place a piece and that changes its clipping and foundation
Usually that leads to me putting horizontal beams across roof tiles and other things that end up hidden
There used to be a lot more issues IIRC when it came to placing wooden poles in foundations as well as cross beams, sometimes they would only connect to one object or not connect properly to the foundation
Its almost as stupid as using the decal planks in raft; very easy to use small beams and poles to reinforce places that don't look like they would work
Especially if you stagger them like you do bricks in a wall
