Iridium Axe in particular is quite a nice upgrade.
I personally turn most of my early iridium into Crystalariums though so I can start making jades to ||trade into Staircases at the desert trader, making future SC runs much better||

Other than axe, I think some sprinklers are probably a better use than most tool upgrade though

I'm not really familiar with what animal product is more profitable since I'm mostly focused on crops.

Other people would say eggs, as long as you feed and pet your chicken they can produce quality eggs that you can sell as is or turn into mayo.

More so if u have artisan profession

Per day cows are best at the start. Cheese sells for more than mayo. And goat cheese sells for more but goats produce every other day

Pigs are generally the best barn animal, though high friendship sheep are also great (but are mediocre until Happy). Cows are better than Goats.

In Coops, regular Happy chickens are the best.
