How rare are ancient seeds to drop from monsters? I spent several days but still got nothing

Early game hit the mines for lots of batwings, quartz and iron ore on the frozen levels (41-79). Smelt the quartz into refined quartz, and the iron ore into iron bars. Craft 18-24 lighting rods and get them out as early as you can, definitely before Summer and the guaranteed thunderstorms.

You'll have lots of batteries to work with.

i'm playing skull caverns for the first time, and i reached level 70 max while spamming a lot of bombs and i gathered maybe 25-30 iridium ore in total. How exactly people farm hundreds of iridium ore, what skull cavern level is supposed to have more iridium?

||Skull caverns|| is a spoiler btw. ||The deeper you go, the more iridium spawns. People get a ton cause they go to floors 100+||

The lower the better. Take ALL the iridium you get early (and the gold) and use it to craft crystalariums. Dupe jades with them and use them to trade for staircases on Sundays with the Desert Trader. Use those staircases to bypass the early levels and go deeper to get more iridium. Repeat until you have sufficient jades to regularly trade for enough staircases.
Tool upgrades and sprinklers can wait, if you want to be successful at Skull Caverns. ||

I tend to do most of my mining in spring, because there's the least foraging to do.

Winter is really heavy foraging, given that you are missing out on a lot of gold if you don't hoe the crap out of the beach.

If they're wood, yes. The only last a couple seasons. All fencing has a lifespan.
I'd stick with stone early on, as it can be repaired every Winter when it's more convenient, and not during growing seasons when you have so much to do.

Artisan's 40% extra is the best moneymaker in the game.
Rancher has its advantages in raising your animals. But selling their products gets a much bigger boost from Artisan.
But no harm in going Rancher if you're having fun with it. Enjoy.

The moment you have enough EXP reach Lv6 Fishing, the Iridium pole is available for purchase even if you haven't slept yet. You'll want that as soon as reasonably practical, and craft and equip a trap bobber (plus an extra or two. Fishing tackle has durability and eventually wears out)
