forest farm is goated to start imo, play it slow (unless if you want to meticulously track everything if you are that type), and don't worry about making mistakes because everything is basically reversible, play at your own pace

You can always change your farm's layout! Move buildings, fields etc. I do recommend planting at least one of each crop that's for sale. Just pay attention to how many days they take to grow, since there's 28 days in each season and most crops die out when seasons change

for stairs you need jade and crystal machine and for that you need iridium and for that you need to go to skull cavern

Here is some tips I like to use for || skull cavern runs ||

|| First thing is to get my hand on the galaxy sword as fast as I can and have my pickaxe at least be upgrade to gold and then iridium once its possible. Second is that foods that restore high HP buffs, my go to for is gold quality cheese and spicy eel that you can trade at the desert trader for rubies.
Triple shot espresso is also very good because it can stacks with other food buffs.

Another point is to have a lot of staircases, for that crystalariums will be your best friend, put a jade in it and it will duplicate every two days and then use to buy staircases on sundays at the desert trader, it will be very helpful to get out of infested floor or the big snail-like floor, also the more you go down, the more chances you have to find iridium ores so thats what staircase are here for !

Last but not least are bombs, buy them at dwarf are craft them and it will makes you life much more easier. Having a sling shot with explosive ammos is also very helpfull. ||

I dont have any doubts you are probably already using some of these tricks but thought I would compile some of them in this, sorry for long rant lololol

depending on how many animals u have and silos, u can just go 1 time every season to look if u think they can survive that

you can get more silos and fill them with hay so that you don't have to worry about your animals running out of food

each silo increases hay storage
