hmmmm now im not sure. i think his story is he worried that he would never have a life with a family or people in his life, cloned himself to relive his life from the beginning. many iterations were discarded and not used, but as the iterations were created, the cloning process took a dangerous toll on his body, turning him into the old man we see in the games today. but the iterations had small deviations from him that began to become more divergent from the original design as time went on and linus kept making more clones out of sheer curiousity. he formed the Joja program as a way to educate the clones in the ways of human behavior and individualism. but as time passed and the millions of clones formed their own societies, the Joja program became increasingly interested in capitalist gain, and became the Joja Corporation. Linus, seeing this happen, decided to abandon the project entirely and the clone making ceased, so people could live out normal human lives. he retreated to a tent in a location he named Stardew Valley, and decided to live out the rest of his years in solitude.

almost all of the random happenings in the game are affected by it. a high luck day will have more ore nodes in the mines, those nodes will drop more ores on average, mobs will drop more loot, you will have a higher chance of dealing crit, and thats just the mines

Try eating a fishing buff food like trout soup or seafoam pudding. Then use either trap bobber or cork bobber. I prefer trap bobber, but some folks like cork. Personally, I think the size increase of the bar with cork is greatly exaggerated by people who prefer it.
