It's not perfect probably but I find it to be fun personally

Also you dont have to worry about buying seeds and stuff

you can also use green algae and tuff like that, just keep eating and focus on going down the mines (dont fight if you see a stair just go down)
you can always "farm" for ores once you have unlocked the levels
