So I downloaded the Babysitter mod (Not knowing it wasn’t compatible with SDVE) and after I downloaded it, my game/SMAPI keeps crashing, stopping on the loading screen before my saves show up, then the screen turns white and stops responding. I deleted both the babysitter mod and the unofficial updated child to NPC (Though I downloaded it before and it was perfectly fine) and it’s still happening, anything else I could try? I was just playing perfectly fine

Babysitter shouldn't be crash-broken non-compatible with SVE, just pathing etc would be off.

so, I was under the impression that if you have two mods that modify the same thing, the mod that loads second is the one that actually gets applied. is this true?
that is very broadly speaking true, but any individual case may be different

I host a server that I started playing with a couple others, we have two (maybe three) more that want to join. I have Unlimited Multiplayer installed, but when a 5th person tries to join they don't see the option to create a new character. Is there something I'm missing?

My fishing-only-trash-on-the-beach problem yesterday was fixed by reverting from CP develop and SMAPI develop to release versions.
okay, so, I have an error (and a log parser link) that has been driving me bonkers for the past two months, yeah? It only happens when I fish up a certain item—but I have no idea which item that is, what mod it comes from. I also can't take a screenshot because it's one of those lovely game breaking errors where it crashes the game as soon as I fish the item up so I can't take a screenshot without it closing the game.

You could try putting every JA mod related to fish into a new modgroup
and test that on a new save

I haven't yet. I spent some time having to fish for a while before I got that item, so it ended up being fished up in the middle of the day

Notably you should add any CP or other components of any fish mods along with the JA components

SO. Let it be known. THIS error is caused by Longevity.
cause I just fished up object 267—the flounder.

you can probably just check the longevity manifest.json for author name + mod name

That is weird! I've had that mod for a while now, it's just been something I've kinda always had. ...but come to think of it, I've also never seen any comments from Smapi about it initializing.
I know Longevity was an XNB mod for a long time, but based on peeking at the file on Nexus it should be a normal mod now, which really is confusing me
like it has a DLL, maybe the DLL is doing something weird?
the XNB part could be part of the issue. I was still using an old version of the mod.

You could try removing the mods That rely on pytk. I'm sure DTZ is working on moving away from it. Garden Village and Walk to the Desert on the other hand.. Uff, there hasn't been any updates for quite a long time.

Update your mods, delete the additional files you have and install SVE correctly.

I don't think it's because of your mods. If you have a custom Spouse it might be worth a shot to see if anyone else had it happened to them and if not report it with your log attached.

does this mean what i think it means? that stardrop will update all my mods for me now instead of me downloading them manually? i haven't actually tried stardrop yet i've been waiting for this feature first
manually updating mods has easily been the worst part of the modding experience for SDV for me

(it's likely that there's multiple/corrupt installations of spacecore in the Mods folder, the log shows where)
yeah, here Failed: you have multiple copies of this mod installed. To fix this, delete these folders and reinstall the mod: Mods\ErrorHandler, Mods\SpaceCore.
I'm not sure how you did it, but you installed several mods weirdly

like there will be dll mods in strange locations without the dlls
You need to redownload several mods and possibly disable the antivirus for them
it may be easier to delete the old ones
just to make sure they don't hang around causing problems

Because those two use the same Stardewvalley folder
Jungle Temple is kinda nifty to a modmaker, but ultimately doesn't add anything to your game - just makes you use some of your resources to open doorways that don't lead to anything. It uses a technique called switchLayers, which I always wanted to try, but never did - and now unless TMXL toolkit gets overhauled, probably never will. Also it breaks your Secret Wood warps.

i'm having a mod problem. I started a new farm. Some of the early game quests don't trigger properly. "To the Beach" never gives me a cutscene, so I never get the first fishing rod from Willy. I could just buy it, but i'd like to know why it happened. The quest to learn Junimo language from the Wizard triggers a quest completed SFX when I enter the tower and the quest disappears from my log, but I am never able to actually get high and learn Junimo ... which means the community center can't be started.
Can you type patch export Data/Events/Beach into smapi and share the file it produces?
There will be a folder called "patch exports" in with the Mods and Content folders

the red messages from content patcher are incompatibilities between mods, you might need to choose between the offending mods (Ellie's Ideal Greenhouse and Grandpa's Farm, between these though you might have a config option for Grandpa's farm that disables the greenhouse)

maybe if i fix the carts up there then it will be better, because getting around that place feels annoying
that tends to be my problem with RSV and Lunna as well, you need to make a dedicated trip to the areas because of the way it's accessed/connected to the native game. not that it's easy or necessarily possible to avoid it with such new locations
ES is less of a problem for me, because it's connected to the mountain and town so you can make a neat round trip whenever you're visiting those locations
i usually end up making warps from the farm or other locations to modded areas actually, so that they are easier to access
(i've been thinking about adding a trainstation->RSV->trainstation warps, i feel like it would work nicely with ES too. not sure what would work with Lunna)
well, there's the tunnel so you can imagine the farmer trekking through it and finding a route to RSV, whatever that might be
I have a beach connecting map too, which I might release in future when we need more real estate
the RSV warp is pretty close to the farm tho and you even get a minecart connection later on once you help robin repairing it.
the tunnel leading to RSV is a bit odd since it's on a mountain and the tunnel canonically leads to the desert.

Sometimes at the start of a new day my game just hangs, nothing happens if I wait for 5 minutes while normally it takes about 10 seconds, and the smapi log shows no activity. Any idea what mod might be causing it?
pretty normal with modded stardew yeah. if you dont have many mods, then its likely the interaction between pyTK and Spacecore. it's recommended to remove pyTK and mods that have it as a dependancy, tho even then you will still have longer than normal loadtimes before you can start to play the game
no I mean understand that, currently it takes like 10 minutes to load a game, but that happens after I go to sleep at the start of a new day, which normally is like 10 seconds

during a season change it can take time

i had some black screen issues in 1.5.4 where the game would just freeze when progressing to the next day. i also saw another user having it on 1.5.5+
for me it always managed to save the day though so it wasn't a huge issue

Json shuffle. its most likely caused by you removing Json based mods and then loading up an existing save
ideally, you dont remove json mods untill you start a new save. however, if its just individual items being glitched, then you can simply trash them and you'll be fine.

Hello. Have question here. I just received perfection so want to ask which mod for new story without starting a new game with my current save?
however, atleast on nexus you can scroll down to "archived" and see old versions of mods. some of those may be compatible of the versions date far enough back. there is no easy way to look for mobile mods. unless some are linked on that wiki page, lemme check rn
there are 4 pretty large content pack mods for areas/story, being
Stardew valley expanded (adds and slightly reworks some vanilla areas and integrates its characters directly into the town)
Ridgeside village (adding a mountain town that you can travel to via a lift with a ton of stuff)
^ those 2 are the ones that have the most development work behind them and feel the most "complete" i think (if that makes sense)
then there's downtown zuzu aswell as eastscarp (+ always raining in the valley for extra characters) which look pretty good overall.
SVE and Ridgeside should be able to be added into a running save (tho changing to an optional farm map from sve in a running save isnt advised i think)

you can try to refine the search with tags like "Works with Android 1.4 release", though that won't get you all the mods that actually would work if they weren't tagged for some reason or another

Hey there @lament prairie. You left the server before we had a chance to look at your problem.
I tested your issued @dire fractal with longevity Json alone and with other mods and as bellow it appeared to come out the fine. I suspect your issue is one of another mod overwriting it and the logger attributing it to longevity which it sometimes does as the logger while super useful isn't always perfect. It might be worth unloading your mod list and building it back up in groups to find the offending one if it isn't easy to find.

Regardless of whether you think piracy is okay or not, discussing it in the server where both of the developers (because as a reminder, Stardew is an indie game, those two are the only people involved in the development) can see is pretty rude
It can actually be difficult to help with modding pirated versions as well. We often can have no idea what's causing an error since the version of the game isn't official.
Like I said, it's a rule. We cannot help with pirated copies in this server which has the actual developers of the game in
. AND pirated copies aren't official so it's often hard to pinpoint the problem.

whenever i open the RSV part of the map (added by cp i think) i can just freely move the cursor, but i cant find the config option to change it in NPC locations.

A mini-map just appeared while I was playing - perhaps I hit the wrong key. It obscures part of my screen and simply shows where I am in the world-map. It isn't helpful and would like it disabled. I don't know if it is an SVE thing. I also have UI Info suite 2. I looked and looked, and hit a number of keys but I can't get rid of it. Any thoughts?

if you're running a heavily modded game, that might the an issue aswell. stardew isnt actually very ram intensive, from my experience, unless you run sprite master.

no spritemaster, and i barely ever hit 4.5gb after a longer session, starting out at 3.9gb

Heyyy had a quick question about using Gwens Medieval Craftables mod, it doesnt seem to work for me with all the textures, like the preserves jars seem to work but they Mayo, Cheese, and Kegs don't and im not quite sure what to do. Ive turned on Alternative Craftables in SVE and turned on Big Craftables in Vibrant Pastoral Recolors
Turn off alternative craftables for SVE and VPR, they overwrite the Medieval ones probably

Does removing PyTK will make the game runs faster cause if so I might keep it for awhile until East Scarp uses extra map layers for it
Pytk adds to the load time.
Cause I know East Scarp uses TMXL tool kits and that needs PyTK otherwise I’d remove it
I'm sure they are working on moving to Extra Map Layers. The current pytk is probably just a bandaid so people can still play their expansion mods until they convert it
I'm waiting on ES and ARV as well, for now I'm just playing SVE.

So I've got a question- is there a program that automatically updates mods for you, rewriting the old mods with the new? Like a manager of sorts? I've got a bunch of mods and they all need updates, but I really don't want to go through 50+ mods and update all of them tbh
there's one by moddrop i think?
do not use vortex (nexus' mod manager, it tends to delete manifestos for stardew mods)
tho updating mods in this game is pretty simple. just download, delete the old folder, paste, done.
unless you wanna keep configs, i guess
o yeah, stardrop is the one. its i beta i think
stardrop does not do automatic updates yet
(although I wonder....could it do auto-updates for github releases, for the approximately twenty mods that do github releases?)

Mod profiles quite well
like, just rename the folder?
you can enable and disable mods
it will also keep an eye on dependencies and requirements
(even if Stardrop could do auto updates, you would have to have Nexus prenium to use that feature)

Hello, I have a problem where the mod East Scarp wont work. I use alot of other mods so I dont know if one of them isnt compatiable or not.
