If you have xnb mods, you just need to reset your game files to get rid of them.

XNB mods often break the game and are not recommended. they are in the mod folder
You can use xnb and smapi together. It just causes issues.
A lot of those mods in the log aren't xnb. They're just... messed up somehow.

(just a heads up. I'm out of SAN to be more helpful, but unofficial pytk+tmxl, needs ui info suite 2, needs to fix sve install, and has xnb mods seems to be the four relevant issues)
If they don't have a very long save, I would honestly suggest deleting everything in mods, resetting their files, and starting over. Because that is a mess.

if you want to install net 5.0, make sure to install Runtime (SDK will also work but that's actually for developers)

Hello, I need some help. I'm playing Stardew Valley with the Expanded mod on the PC via the XBox app. But whenever I want to save a game, this error message comes up and I don't quite understand what the reason is. I have all the appropriate versions of the mods I need.

I'm going to guess you either a) downloaded the wrong one b) didn't unzip or c) didn't place in mods folder
(some common mistakes people make, it could be something else though)

Has it happened to anyone that after the stardew update some events are seen with a black screen? Either mod, it doesn't matter and it doesn't generate an error in the log.
At the least, if you successfully delete the old version the error should turn into "no pytk found"

So check that that's where you're putting things/deleting things

This is slightly bad advice, but if keeping mods updated is difficult I find it easier to do in batches whenever there's a pressing reason to do so, like 1.5.5 coming out.
(if you don't update mods, it's not the end of the world, but they do sometimes break/you find a bug)

Conveniently the smapi website tells you "Mods go here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Mods"
So I just unzip the file there? I'm sorry I'm asking obvious questions, it's just that's what I did earlier and I'm not sure where I went wrong.
Maybe also delete old PyTK?

Anyone have really good mods for the players' kids? Most "kids to npcs" mods I find are either out of date or rather buggy
I think that sums up the state of all kid to NPC mods
they're all buggy because the C# mod they rely on is buggy

for example, the first line means you have a random mod that extracted its i18n folder somewhere wrong

Not any of its internal folders, but the Multiple Spouse Dialogs wrapper folder could be shortened to MSD, see if that makes it cause less problems - also yeah roll back your save file 1 day
I've been tempted to just remove it, I don't need it as I do not want poly partners
(game and smapi both keep backups)
the multiple spouse dialog problem seems like a capitalization problem
I have not done anything other than unzip and move that one
in the nexus file list the folder is assets instead of Assets
resdtfg capitalizations
(and with that type of a mod it could be a problem)

well it solved the Multiple Spouse error but not the other one so I think I'm just going to delete both of the farms and completely start over. It's not a big loss I hadn't gotten very far in either game, still year 1 on both.

I removed all the multiple spouse mods, they have given me nothing but trouble and Free Love is the one for 1.5.5

hm, you're getting the same type of content patcher warning for few mods, invalid input arguments (*NPC NAME*) for Hearts token. have you modified those mods yourself? otherwise seems like it could be a content patcher bug

i was just thinking that all of those npcs only become social after some point if at all (Apples, Sandy, the duck)

I got a similar warning back when I was putting my NPC's disposition behind a When token. I guess because they don't technically exist in the heart code yet CP doesn't view them as a valid asset name or something.

If I were to hypothetically install an Npc mod, create a new save, and talk to the Npc in that save, would deleting the mod give me a "To prevent a crash, smapi blah blah blah, did you delete a Npc?" text if I were to open another save in which I have not yet interacted with the custom npc?
Or only in the save where I've spoken to them?
That error is just SMAPI saying "you had a custom NPC on this save I couldn't find, so I cleaned up the data on the save"

You'll see that error whenever you load that save, until you save again. Say you had that error in game on a Tuesday. If you end the day and progress to Wednesday, the next time you load that save, you won't see the warning
So I've installed all the extra mods needed but now smapi is giving me a message that the PYTK mod couldn't be run because it isn't compatible even though it's the most up-to-date 😅 the pain

Let's say I want to have a really massive Stardew experience. Like, I've done the base game and SVE before... What's my next step? What should I add to give the game some more replayablity?
There are other expansion mods like Ridgeside Village, East Scarpe, Deep Woods, Gem Isles, Mermaid Island, Boarding House, Junimo Cove, Walk to the Desert, and Downtown Zuzu. (I probably missed a few)
Just depends on what you're after. Also keep in mind that the more big expansion mods you use, the more likely you are to have performance issues
for expansion mods, look into RSV, ES, LASV, etc
So writing null in the " " part still caused it to fail in the gameloop.

I've played with East Scarp, Ridgeside, SVE, Boarding House, Walk to the Desert, Stardew Aquarium, Mermaid Island and more together, so they work, just read the mod page usually will tell you about what they might conflict with.

none worked, however I changed the options for UI Info Suite 2 in the config itself to what I wanted (False or True) and it reset them in game anyways, this is kinda annoying lol
I'm trying to run stardew after taking a break and uninstalling, then reinstalling through steam. Using all the same mods as before, but when I try to run it through the modded icon it crashes as soon as a window pops up, all in a split second. It works fine when I try running it non-modded. I had the same issue but I solved it by doing something that someone recommended in the comments section of the original UI info suite mod! his comment was basically “TLDR: Look in Stardew Valley\Mods\UIInfoSuite2\data for a json file that matches the name of your save file, and try editing it to have the settings you want and see if that helps.”

I'm trying to use some PPJA mods with Last Day To Plant, and it asks for my PPJA file paths in the config. But each PPJA mod has two folders you put in the Mods folder (i.e. [JA] Fruits and Veggies and [MFM] Fruits and Veggies)...which one do I use as the path for Last Day To Plant? Or would I just put the Mods folder itself as the PPJA path, since both are in there?
I did look around on the LDTP page to see if anyone else had the same issue and, while there was one person who did, they only said in a later comment that they got it to work and didn't say how, and none of the PPJA documentation says which to use either >.<"

I see most mods are suggesting DSV. I haven't messed with mods in almost 2 years... I used to use Seasonal Outfits. What differences are there? Is DSV just more up to date/compatible or something?

usually when I open the chest, there's a bar on top right I can click on to switch which chest I want to open, but it's not showing up.

Do you happen to know if the mods will still work if you leave them in the [PPJA] folder in the Mods directory rather than having JA and MFM directly in the Mods folder, in case LDTP is looking for the [PPJA] folder as a whole for some reason? Or would that break things?

I don't know if this is a mod problem, but my coop production has been spotty, especially my ducks. Just today, only one of my ducks produced anything. Sometime only three of my chickens lay eggs. is this normal?

Don't know if that actually messes it up or its because I haven't been to those locations or not. But it only happens on the next day, not the initial loading day

most of your mods should be working and/or have unofficial updates. as long as you get unofficial pytk/tmxl 90% of things will work

should be fine, might cause weird stuff but once you escape it should be ok. you can also install "noclip" mod if your inability to walk through things is bugged

@tired brook I don't know if you might be interested into knowing this, but remember my problem with the stutter/frame drops? I've been playing the game the whole day again today, now suddenly after 7 hours the stutter/frame drops is gone. I have no clue why it's suddenly gone and if it will remain gone, but I'm kind of scared to reboot my game to try it incase it does come back haha

Hey do you know how to make it load faster? I am currently trying to load ridgeside and SVE but it takes around 15 minutes to load. (I have in total 120 mods)

so put ONE copy of each of those in your main mods folder
So the issue wasn't mermaid island, its with the Swim mod itself or Island as in Ginger Island. I warped to both and its fine, I can even dive underwater. So I have no idea what the issue is honestly

My game takes 13 minutes to load in total and it's very annoying
It just loads everything. Mine takes awhile loading because I have 600 plus mods. If you have a lot of CP mods, I'm guessing its going to take a while to load
Well that means you either got a lot of CP mods, you got big CP mods, and you have big mods that add a ton of things like SVE. At least I think that's how that works
or consider getting a faster HD

Spamming enter doesn't do it and also I have a SSD and I even tried using ramdisk to see if it was really my hard drive issues, turns out it's not.

another thing that helps: updating to the latest of each mod
