argh i have too many dog textures in adopt n skin because the one mod has like 100 textures so the other couple textures i have around never show up but to cut down on ones i dont like as much i have to be able to SEE them and theres no quick way to get the images to open already zoomed in enough and browse them that i know of aaaaa

Delete the SMAPI folders inside the Mods folder (they are not needed)

I'd suggest you delete TownSchool too because you have SVE and they are not compatible yet
you also have two folders of this mod: Caroline Buxom Character Overhaul (with Marriage)
delete one of them
Sounds like you have an error with the new fruits added in 1.5 You might need to delete some files. Upload a log and we can be sure

If you installed them by simply overwriting them, that can cause issues with some mods
i just did my first editing of a tilesheet c: (the fox textures i have for the doggos are not entirely uniform and one of them just had random streaks of white on it that the person must have forgotten to make transparent... might also try to edit in the drop shadows on the 4 of the 7 that dont have them)

thats why i'm confused. the game scrambled all of the items in the mod so they don't show up in the game as they are supposed to but nothing looks wrong in my log
item scrambling is normal after updating your JA mods, give it a couple of in game days and it'll go away

a lot of the time for me it's been like, my weapon has the wrong image, i just delete it and spawn a new one
oh, yeah, the ones you actually have on you won't unscramble on their own
but as long as you ship or throw away everything scrambled and spawn or buy new ones, the new ones should be okay

well i see a couple of things wrong that shouldn't be affecting your buildings, first of all
you need to install the mod Train Station for the aquarium to work
I use Mods in the Sims so I know how easily they can become overlapped and outdated.

oof, we don't recommend using vortex for SDV mods, it can cause some weird issues

Hey, I'm posting this here because I was told to but I'm not sure that it's an issue with mods. I'll just copy and paste what I wrote from the #vanilla-tech-support channel:
I'm running steam through linux on a chromebook. I had it up and running before and got stardew to work perfectly fine, with mods and everything. I had to powerwash my computer to take it out of dev mode though, so i had to go back through the process of reinstalling steam and all the mods. I got most of the mods I had before, but left some minor ones out. Now I'm having a problem where my old save file won't load. The game boots up fine, but when i start loading the save, it crashes SDV back out to the steam screen. I can create a new farm file and that works fine, even after rebooting and loading it again. However, my old one will not work

afaik though you just drag the portrait files into the portraiture folder, there should be like a portraits thing in there and then you'd have NameOfPortraitMod folder inside that

I'm using Adopt N Skin and I can't get the stray animal to change. I don't want the one she has right now, but it won't change.
From what I heard, first one will show up vanilla and later turn random
you can't change the stray while it's there, but after you adopt it you can change the skin
It didn't let me change it when I adopted the first time, though

so maybe someone here will be able to help me. back in the day i had a mod that made animals like goats, sheeps, and ducks produce product every day. i used it to sync up my goats, bc just waiting a day to milk them never works for some reason. ive unfortunately lost it and cant find it anywhere, and was wondering if anyone else had it or something similar, bc the goat thing is really starting to bug me
So last night I downloaded stardew valley expanded to test it and an hour later I removed it from my mod folder. While I was testing it out I put weapons in my first and second hot bar spots. After removing the SVE these items still seem to be in my inventory but invisible. Whenever I hover over them they cause lag and a lot of red dialogue comes up on the smapi loading screen. (I can’t remove them from my inventory)

That looks like a pretty old version; it even predates the SMAPI 3.0 events. I think there's a newer version available in the source repo, if that's the latest release.

The smapi-mod-dump repo is a special repo for running searches and such, you shouldn't use any of the code there. The code in that repo all comes from the official repos anyway.

there's 2 mods you might be referring to with "quality artisan products"; the mod actually named Quality Artisan Products, and Quality Artisan Products for Artisan Valley
Artisan Valley doesn't require either of them but QAPfAV requires AV and replaces the AV producer rules with ones that take input quality into account
What’s the mod where you hover your curser over a crop and it tells you what it is and how many days until ready?
UI Info has that, and I don't know the name of the standalone. I'm sure someone else does
and in the case of milk inputs for butter/non-fruit-yogurt it takes into account milk size so regular milk produces 1 and large milk produces 2

For instance, there wasn't a folder for Cat
or Horse
you don't need a skins folder for individual animal types, that's just for your own organization
inner folder structure does not matter, at all

I think you have that backwards, av wants more recipes
The pack doesn't include all of them
mega pack isn't up to date either, you should get the individual packs
i downloaded mega pack and then updated the ones that said needed updating so i should be good

if the map you install is almost the same as a standard farm map, it's not gonna break anything you place. Worst case scenario your barn ends up in the middle of a cliff (if you happen to install something that is very different from the standard farm), but you could always go to Robin's to move it

if you're on the bus stop, you should see another path leading down from that

Well it is the most recent version 1.20.2 that he fixed it on. Then below that he says sometimes it just doesn't take on the first go, but if you exit to the title screen and reload the file, it will fix it
So just had an issue. Went to the flower dance year 2. Game took forever to load. Then when It came back I was back at my house end of day not able to do the dance. Smapi did not go red but this poped up

festivals tend to draw a big spike of ram to load everything, can preemitiely end you up there

its nexus being dumb, its not just yours
you can watch it in any sort of process explorer/etc, sdv creeps up memory a little bit every day or 2, when it starts pushing 3gb at the start of day you start risking end of day oom-ing out

process explorers e.g. Task Manager in windows, but there's also a program called Process Explorer which is like Task Manager++

I normally don't like recolors but your taste is

They're saying you can either directly launch the game's .exe file for SMAPI not to launch, or alternatively rename your mods folder to something like .Mods or 123Mods, etc, so SMAPI doesn't read your mods
then you rename your folder back to just "Mods" for it to read all your mods again!

How do I add custom NPCs to NPC Map Locations?
I would like the one off NPCs like Blanche and Lucikiel to show up if possible
npcs themselves generally show up, its the map locations themselves that usually cause problems
ie, when they go 'off the map'
atleast with npcmaplocations, ui info suite maybe not
the ui info one does not like custom locations at all and you get a giant stack in the topleft corner
I can see the information about where they are. Like if I hover over the museum, then I'll see whoever is there by name. But I generally don't see the heads on the map.
It's not a UI Info Suite conflict. I turn off the custom locations in UI Info Suite so I don't get the big stack in the corner
Gonna try adding them to the globals.json under CustomNPCMarkerOffsets to see if that helps
you might need to give them a custom offset, not sure the specifics on that, most of the big npc group mods have a list of them to add
Yeah, I noticed that the custom NPCs I can see (like for SDV) are all in that globals.json under the offsets. So maybe the one offs need to be there too

the latest smapi did help with that somewhat, you could run it a few more days and get a better gauge as to when it breaks for you
(also note, you can watch the garbage collector drop a couple hundred k periodically which does help some)

yeah, strange that you are hitting those limits so quickly, it may actually be the animation things, not sure, never actually messed with them, being in the farmhouse definately does seem to be where memory is highest though, it tends to drop 200-300k for me once I go outside and walk for a bit

the latest sauvign unoffical I tried the other day 'works' but the entrance can be fiddly and casks only work with automate
i think ridgeside is the only one that adds a pack. all other male datables have to be added one by one. (sve adds a few datables, but only one bachelor at present)
the time before harvest mod that is also broken should be working according to smapi
also arrrrrgh i decided i wanted to try to get the various things to work in garden village by doing the patches for it and i got a bunnnnch of errors cause its probably not up to date which is sad cause i wanted to have the garden village do something :C
mods can get broken by other broken mods even if they work normally

@coarse vigil basically, you want to copy the Industrialization folder (all of it), and only the BigCraftables folder in Artisan valley
you dont need to move anything else from those changes
that moves the recipes for the machines, and the prismatic compound for Inds to garden village, all of those other folders have just minor seed price changes that are literally pointless (and in the case of the stuff removed from ppja due to vanilla, actively harmful)
My automated brewery, under construction
I managed to get 3 kegs in my almost end of fall save, restarting here soon, and going to be using CombineMachines rather than those pfm upgraded kegs this run I think, avoids all the random issues with it re recipe costs
im not even using artisan valley though

i adjusted the recipe costs for my upgraded kegs because needing several thousand wood for one keg was just ridiculous
Industrialization is the only recipe bearing one you need to move, if you're using that

they're literally the cost of their multiplier :p, my issue was I was using a higher cost base recipe, which REALLY made them too cheap heh

yep, buslocations replaces the interaction point, and you need the [bl] desert thing to go to the vanilla loc
