I understand why people come to that conclusion if they don't get a response, but please consider that 1) not everyone is on at the same time, 2) not everyone has the same knowledge, and 3) messages are sometimes straight up missed if conversation is flying.
So, even if someone was on, they might not have known how to help, and/or they didn't see the log.
If you'd like help, please share the full log. If you're fine leaving it, that's fine too.

@dense folio it's safe to ignore those NPC map locations messages, they won't cause any problems. generally if it's not red text you don't need to do anything about it

asura, try uninstalling ChestEx and see if that does anything as well? it may well not be that, but it's mentioned in some of the errors so it's worth a try. you can put a . at the beginning if you don't want to delete it or move it out
he's removed when the day ends and added on the day started so it's not likely to be a long-run bug at any rate

old trick for getting rid of things is putting it in a chest in the path of a villager, they crush it while following their route

movies work on a 2 year cycle
so year 2 movies will show on year 4
if its like most coding, "spring_movie_0" is year 1, 3, 5 etc
try making it whatever your season is, and a 1 like "fall_movie_1" if your in fall

@royal tundra They already should be. I have mine set to be disabled when AH is installed. If that’s not the case anymore something probably got removed with a translator PR.

It's an intermittent issue. Sometimes we can go 10 days without anything and take a break. Sometimes it crashes after 2 or 3 days
seems like it's the https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/7096 causing some errors

When it comes to SMAPI mod errors like that, we recommend posting a bug report because usually, the mod author has to get involved to fix it.
You could try removing all your other mods, see if it still happens, and if it doesn't, add mods back in little by little, to see if it is in fact a conflict with other mods (noting it might not be). This will give the mod author more info
But that takes time and the average user doesn't want to do all that 😄

Can i show yall my error log and get some help figuring out why my save files are screwing up? I thought i had it fixed by getting past the first week because it was loading my save files just fine, but then it stopped doing anything other than the black loading screen. So today i tried a new save file, but when i passed out it said something went wrong with the save and to consult error logs...

@Pat_yee, do you mean you can't see the NPCs on the minimap in the menu, or at all? I see you have the incorrect version of NPC Map Locations. On that mod's nexus page, there's a specific one for SVE

For extended shop hours, take a look at Summer Hours on ModDrop! There is a "year round" version, and that's the one I use. It extends the time all houses and shops are open

I wanted to ask, is BFAV compatible with multiplayer? i'm looking for options to add more animals since the animal reskinners tend to be generally incompatible
A&S is compatible, so long as everyone on the MP session has the same number of skins for each animal (no instances of someone having more skins than someone else); BFAV is also MP-compatible
everyone must have the same BFAV packs
A&S is tricky in multiplayer because horses cause a lot of issues

this is a copy/paste i found: It includes a large number of new locations, events, location descriptions, and maps, in addition to reimagined festivals and other miscellaneous additions.

i suppose SVE might be enjoyed more by an end game player tho

SvE adds a lot of content but I it strays too far from the vanilla game for me (and in a different direction from my personal head canon).

Oh. Yeah. I totally recommend playing through vanilla first and maybe even playing a modded file through once too before jumping into SVE.
Hey my misses is trying to get mods with twitch for stardew valley but twitch isnt finding stardew
we went to the stardew folder in the steam folder but no joy
i don't think twitch launcher is actually capable of modding stardew; it only lists a very small number of mods, all of which happen to be on curseforge and none of which are the modloader
just install manually
(install SMAPI via its installer, then download mods, unzip them, and put them in the Mods folder the sMAPI installer makes)

i suspect that twitch just automatically puts anything on curseforge in its 'addons list' thing and doesn't have any system in place for things on curseforge that aren't supposed to be installed via twitch

verify files if you have steam
if you're on Steam, go to "properties" then "Verify Integrity of Game Files"
also pretty sure we cant share that file anyways
it'll check all your xnbs and restore any of them back to default, and it's FAR quicker than reinstalling
just be sure to make backups (even if steam doesnt wipe the folder, its always better to be cautious)

when you go to open the archive, instead of double clicking it, it's easiest to right click it, scroll down to 7-zip, and then "extract archive here", and move the new folder to the new spot. If you double click and drag files out, sometimes they don't 'unzip'

For running SVE, do I need all the optional mods that are attached to the required mods or only the required mods
on Nexus, there is a "requirements" tab and you need everything in that tab.
there's also a list of other mods that require SVE, you don't need any of those
so you need SMAPI, Content Patcher, Farm Type Manager, Json Assets, PyTK, SpaceCore, TMXLoader, and Winter Grass. Without those things crash

so you should have already installed those 🙂
required is required, optional is not. if someone puts optional mods into nexus requirements they usually add a note that it's only for one feature and the mod works fine without.

I am using the seasonal villagers mod and portraiture, in the svo mod theyre some seasonal portraits as well, but i am using SHIE's portraits, which are in a bigger resolution, but now i thought of drawing the different clothing on those portraits, just for myself as a little project,but because theyre so much bigger in size they wont be used when i put them in the svo mod, but portraiture doesnt use them as well, so my question is: is there a way to use hd portraits for svo?

You could try bypassing it by making each season as a separate portraits pack in Portraiture and switch them with the seasons with 'P'

Both myself and the host were using the same mods until the crash first occurred. Tried removing the new boots mod [JA] Socks and the boots themselves with no change.
It seemed to first happen when I first put on the mod boots, but removing them and the mod didn't change anything
try without the boots but with JA

in general if you need to remove a JA mod, do it that way--JA will "clean up" the save for you after you play a day

For future reference though, on switching maps:

The program 7zip also works perfectly and it's free

this would be about my fifth time reinstalling stardew valley expanded, i know its a very hitting my head against the wall and expecting something else to happen approach but i don't know what to do besides deleting everything and starting from the beginning.
Hi everyone, I have been having issues with my files saving. Then after a few days of it being crazy it will work fine again. Tonight i did two rooms in community center, and went to bed and it just said saving in white letters on bottom of screen, but no shipping info. After 20 mins i just said to hell with it and shut it down. I will send my log, sorry i have several mods so it may be lengthy.

Because those are both SMAPI mods, if uninstalling and reinstalling didn't work, I'd be like "report it to mod page", although if they were willing to troubleshoot further, they could remove all other mods, and add them back in slowly to see if it's a conflict

hello, can someone help me with smapi? there used o be a window when opening the game using smapi that showed all the mods that where loading, what was happening, etc, but with the latest version that window is completely gone, it just load to the game and it show's how many mods are loaded. I want that window, I need to see if there are errors or something, is there a way to bring back that window?
you should be able to alt-tab to it. I keep my game windowed, so I can check for errors
but that window is gone, it loads to the game, I use my game in windowed mode, and it does load mods, so it is working

Hello, I'm new here, Im copypasting part of my comment in SVE in nexus. I did googled about this and didn't find any matches so here it goes:
So, I'm at 2nd day Fall, year 2, and I've noticed the movie theater is gone, instead Joja mart came back, and looks clean/usable. There's seems to be 2 movie posters but are black&white and cannot be read. The joja truck and everything else is there too.
The same day I noticed this, -when I entered the joja mart- it triggered a cutscene, Martin was a cashier having trouble with Pam, Claire came to the resque, and the boss was in his office. After the cutscene finished, I entered, found the place EMPTY, no npc inside. Weird!
Then, went to the mountain, the wood bridge to original quarry was broken again. You can still go there with the cart system.
I was not able to find anything about this, but it's too weird I've been playing since idk, spring? with the same mods, (updated versions too mind you) and it wasn't until FALL season I noticed this.
I also married 21th Summer, house fully upgraded, community done and all that.
I don't know what to make of it but it sure seems buggy, can't figure if it's a mod or what.
Posting this in case someone out there have had the same thing and then I wouldn't feel that lost.

Yes at robin. The person trying to connect got an error saying no cabins, which was false. Now it won't let them connect

@prime lion that's very odd for the few mods that log shows, did you install any XNB mods? (their install instructions would have told you to overwrite files in the Content folder)

@rugged fiber, something is going wrong with multiplayer sync for that person who's trying to connect. just in case, could you have them do that reset as well? it's possible they could have some corrupted files somewhere. i can't really make heads or tails of that error other than "syncing broke"
Hello! I'm looking for some help to check what's wrong with this mod: NPCs usually only say their lines once, but this Custom NPC repeats the dialogue over and over, no matter how many times I talk with him. I need him to stop talking so the NPC Adventures Mod can give me the option to recruit him.

@bitter summit the spacecore error is normal for multiplayer farmhands and safe to ignore. farmhouse redone doesn't play well with multiplayer, it'd be better to use a house mod that doesn't rely on it

@pine oyster He does have a lot of location dialogues, and those location dialogue changes as you increase hearts for him.
The looping was ok until I introduced him to NPC Adventures. The only location I think I left out was Town. So now I guess I have to reduce his location dialogues so that he has other places where you can ask him to join you for adventure 🤔
In order to keep his location dialogues, I guess I have to now make them coordinate specific. So you would be able to still talk to him in all locations for npc adventure. I'll make that update in the next 1.1.6! He frequents the beach the most, so I will definitely get rid of location dialogue on the beach @pine oyster
I just wish the game didn't make location dialogue loop. Like why is that even a thing? I gave him a lot of location dialogue to make him more immersive so that he doesn't just talk to you only once a day.
Does anyone think this location dialouge looping will be fixed in the future? Or is it a permanent feature in the game?

oh boy! nope I don't have that! seems like if you'd exported the assets of the game heh, thought you may have pressed a key for a mod (such as sprinklers) or even an option in cheat mods like CJB and then you couldn't figure out how to hide the overlay or something. Is that from android? you could disable every mod and see if it goes away, then one by one till you find the culprit
if not, maybe the save is corrupt, I've read it can happen
it's kidna funny, something like that could happen in the old consoles with cartridges, if you ticked them then the game froze looking all bizarre XD

It's not mine, should be on Nexus. All the characters' portraits and overworld sprites are replaced with straws, each with personality
(except for the Wizard. He's a drink)

In regards to your issue Metal I heard that happened with early versions of SVE 1.11. But it should be fixed now.
I'm still puzzled about the movie theater gone; just thought it might have been the reset terrain mod, but that deals with things that SPAWNS in terrain, so no buildings should be affected.

I've been switching SVE in and out of my fall save and it's been fine.
plus there's nothing assuring me a clean new save wont suffer the same result in fall, year 2.

It's weird cos you have comparitively few mods so there shouldnt be and conflicts
That glitch happens because the town map is being edited and it trips up the ||theater|| patch.
yes, took the Comm Center route, it's done too
I thought I fixed that though by disabling the crop growth in town. Hmm... gotta think about what other map patches I do.

tho if you're involved with npc from mods, I'd say both Claire and Martin are always stuck in their job places and I cant never reach them
so 2 hearts or less, while all others are above 8
you gotta catch them while they're walking to work/going to the bus.
Martin never leaves the bus, I've mounted watch outside and the guy IS the bus now haha
Claire is in the movie theater and if I want to see her, pay for a ticket, but then the conversation is job-related so..
now, I've taken an already existing save, so it may be a bug that other people don't experiment
Martin only works two days out of the week.
Talking to Martin and Claire in the movie theater doesn't raise friendship.

Hmm. I think I've found the cause as of why the ||theater|| is reverting. I believe its because of the way I'm patching leaves during fall.
curse my immersive edits.

Weren't these leaves only an overlay on towns tilesheet? 
oh wait, i was thinking about the other ones.
I basically edit a bunch of maps with a new back layer thats filled with leaves patched during fall.

some of this is because SDV cant load the save info

its likely that some mod changes the cursors file but its a replace and not editimage

I think most of them besides smapi are manifest errors, I downloaded these mods 2 days ago
I know some have had manifest errors for a long time now
maybe try to fix them?
Arcane, some mods may not have been installed properly, see the Skipped mods section
(one mod to update is like version 1.1.2 rather than 1.12.2, that seems significant, although could be a typo?)
those are portraiture files/xnb mods that I accidentally downloaded
and somehow installed
the 1.1.2 --> 1.11.2 is a manifest error
