hello, anyone here been using the custom movies mod? I tried it out today and get the example movie to play, but then it stuck on the ending frame, cant end or move or do anything

I had a weird thing happen similarly with the Gunther To NPC mod. The door didn't work, so I fixed my Archaeology patch that I think broke it. Still didn't work until I entered a room and exited it.
Sometimes the patch gets buggy

In rgards to the issue, I think it's just having problems with the replaceMaps and maybe would be better if you used CP instead.

@pearl stream that's the only banana tree you have? you could try moving it with https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/1342 or https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2594 to see if it still has the issue; you can also check if the game is counting any of the tiles around it as "blocked" (maybe they're building tiles on the map?) with a mod like Data Layers or UI Info Suite
@lapis void yes, that's the only banana tree I have. And why would I need those two mods? And by 8 spaces, I assume the 8 tiles surrounding from the middle
yes, it is the ones surrounding it--it may be something with your farm map causing the game to think one of them is occupied
those mods are both ways that you could move the tree to a different spot!
huh that's very odd! yeah i would try checking with Data Layers to see if the game thinks those tiles are occupied

Those are good but they weren't the type I was aiming for with my list. I wouldn't recommend any of those ones to a player who was brand new, but I would to an experienced player.

I asked this earlier but I think it got lost in the shuffle. For the Rustic Town Interior mod, does anyone know how to keep the texture for the kids' bed from appearing? I've already tried changing the config to false, deleted the lines completely, and even deleting the bed.png folder. The texture still keeps appearing and I don't know how to make it stop. did you also disable it in seasonal garden farmhouse? i think they both have that option and it's the same textures bc its the same mod author

im fairly certain that the farmhouse mod only changes the crib and player bed, not the kids bed

That's a good start. I've tried gutting the mod folder manually and reinstalling SMAPI, ModDrop, and Stardew to no effect.

wrt SMAPI false virus alerts, antiviruses are paranoid about stuff that accesses the file system without you telling it to and stuff that modifies other programs
and SMAPI accesses the file system without you telling it to (to back up your saves and load stuff from your Mods folder) and modifies another program named Stardew Valley

Hello guys, I had been playing coop for the past few days using mods as a farmhand, but this error suddenly pops out yesterday and the whole game became laggy.

That error won't be why the game is laggy - it's just SpaceCore whining about existing in multiplayer, it still works fine

I've manually installed it following the guide several times, and by testing the error appears only when i install the [TMX] Stardew Valley Expanded folder.
ive also reinstalled pytk
you're missing mods required by SVE so it's not loading and so you're missing the custom tilesheet and that's why you get the errors.
Platonymous.CustomMusic should be in the modpack inside SVE

Right. So, every time I enter grandpa's shed (Stardew Valley Expanded, on a NEW save, reimagined farm), or I go to sleep, my screen turns black / gets stuck on a loading screen. The red log at the bottom of this is what shows up for both events. Does anyone have a vague idea of what is going on?
Most of the 'please update' mods ARE updated but the creators seemed to have changed the versions between the mods and nexus.
I am installing these mods manually, and I'm a mac user if this helps.

I'm having an unfortunate conflict between SVe and "More New Fish", if you select "Harder CC Bundles" in the config of SVe, it causes parts of some bundles to just... vanish. Anyone know how to prevent "More New Fish" from touching the bundle data? I'd rather just use SVe's bundles

Get Glam definitely dislikes me a lot as is, I've had these kinds of errors for a while but they never caused too many visible problems? hm. I'll definitely look into them though. Child to NPC for SVE I'll give a kick though.

I deleted the kids to npc for sve, but to be fair, toolkit is managing to find new errors every time I delete some other mod. - every time I take out any mod that it errors on, it finds a brand new one to error next. Help.
getglam is fine, the hairstyles work okay and it's just been a warning that happens oftentimes? to do with alicedafox's hairstyles for GG.
No idea what is going on with the Wizard or Marnie, they're not doing great, seems SVE related? Not sure, but that's all I can figure out from using the TRACE option on the log parser.
Still crashing every time I enter grandpa's shed (SVE, immersive farm map), as well as every time I try go to sleep.

So I just made a transition away from Longevity, however when removing it from my game all the fluctuating prices are stuck where they were before I removed it. Does anyone know how to fix the prices on all the items back to vanilla values?
For mods that change price by altering item data, the prices are set when the item is created. So you can't fix them except by trashing and respawning the items.
Ah, I do mean items in inventory. Are you seeing different prices in stores?

Could I get some help from the masters, please? I haven't played in a while, but the new SVE just came out (as I'm sure everyone is aware), and ModDrop seemed like a cool thing for a computer illiterate person like me to use. I deleted everything in my mods folder and opened moddrop, added my main mods. It didn't work. I scaled it back to only SVE. Still doesn't work. I've tried to figure out the issue, but... I don't know enough about coding to understand what it's telling me. Can someone give me some advice, please?

There are 2 areas where the recolor doesn't cover a specific thing but I'll wait patiently for recolor support 🙂

@elfin portal I'm not familiar with how moddrop handles SMAPI, but I'd interpret that log as suggesting there's an issue with the SMAPI install. I'd recommend reinstalling it, or if moddrop requires that you have it manage SMAPI, have it reinstall SMAPI's files.

Yeah, that was my guess. It almost looks like it can't load them or something? Because my mods file is empty, but I don't know where the mods ARE or even where my smapi is the change the load point
You can tell SMAPI to use specific directories as the home for mods (crucial to setting up different mod groups, as I understand it), so if mods/ is empty it could be that SMAPI is just being told at launch to use <wherever moddrop puts files>.
System.MissingMethodException: Method not found: 'System.String StardewModdingAPI.Toolkit.Utilities.PathUtilities.NormalizePath(System.String)'. reads to me as some of SMAPI's base libs being missing or something 😐

The way to check would be to buy an item one day and immediately sell it (not stacking with anything else). Then buy the same item the next day and sell it and see if it's any different @stray star
If those match consistently, then it's likely the lingering changing prices you're seeing are just different saved data in different item stacks you already have

Recommendation varies by person, but I think many (plurality, if not majority) of the folks around here prefer just doing Stardew mods by hand, since they're so simple.

I've heard vortex recommended against since it can screw up configs and other such things while updating, moddrop less so but it wasn't strongly recommended either
^-vortex can also obfuscate some things to try and make modding easier, which is helpful for something like Skyrim but for Stardew occasionally causes people headaches.
if you're just switching between mods on and off, the easiest, lo-tech way is just change the name of your Mods folder (e.g. Mods-no or something) to play without.
Assuming your steam is configured to SMAPI you can launch the same way then, no other fuss
If you need more complex stuff (like multiple Mods folders with different setups) there are ways to do fancy configuration, or you can opt to do battle with a manager like Vortex
@dire fractal I was fine with like 500 and found through Kaya's Smapi about 200+ Mods that look nice, but I'm pretty sure that something will break

Can someone help me? I'm running smapi with a few mods. If I launch the app itself it boots just fine, but I want the steam overlay. I set the launch options, but when launching it from steam it says not responding and the game won't start. (smapi does launch though) Anyone know what's up with that?

It works with PPJA. BigCraftables aren't stackable but that's really the only thing in PPJA that isn't.

I finally updated all of my mods and for some reason after updating I can't seem to load my save game, i always get a "smapi is not responding" right when my file is about to load (after the loading... box disappears and you can slighty see ur farmhouse in the black screen) smapi doesn't seem to be giving me any errors and every mod is up to date. I am also having an issue with ModDrop not loading the Stardew Smapi, even when I tried to load game on steam, it refuses to open. Had just finished updating the ModDrop and steam, and had played a full 2 ingame days. Closed it, tried to start a co-op farm, and that's when it stopped working.

normal mods are just tedious and you have to keep track of your mods so that the odd ball douche does not become hard to locate when you see a sea of red
Steps would be
- download the new smapi installer folder from smapi.io
- unzip (extract) the smapi folder into somewhere like Desktop (not your game folder or mods folder)
- go inside the smapi folder and click to run the installer program for your OS

I should update my PPJA mods, but I don’t like re-adding the Garden Village patches, it takes too long 
So I downloaded the Juliet mod, which the Jade has built-in compatibility for. Problem is, I haven’t seen Jade once in my current save. The game registers her as a character in my introductions quest, she has a room in Juliet and Jessie’s house (as she should), but she is not appearing anywhere
I know there was an issue with the Mike mod where he would just stand in place when his house files weren’t deleted while the Boarding House is active, but Jade’s mod should default to having her live in Juliet’s house rather than the Boarding House since it’s a config option, so I’m not sure what’s wrong
I was thought that John is supposed to have his event trigger on D6, but he never showed up and he’s also recognized because he has his room at the saloon, but he won’t appear either
I’m on D11 and haven’t seen either once, though both are in my social tab (John’s sprite doesn’t appear on the social tab though, for some reason)

All I can suggest is updating all the core mods (ContentPatcher, SMAPI, whatever you need for this mod) to their latest versions

yeah thats the first problem, the bigger ones are lower where i keep getting "System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: The target area is outside the bounds of the target texture" errors
try removing either of those mods and it might solve the other errors
Alright. Updated SMAPI to 3.7.5 and ran the game to make sure it was working before updating SVE to 1.11.1. Seems fine so SMAPI isn’t an issue. Phew!

@vague fractal They walked into town later in the day Summer year 2. I think it may have been trying to trigger the SVE cutscene where Marlon goes into the sewers behind the Adventurer's Guild. Their screen was black and the SMAPI box was a non-stop scroll of red error text.
We then uninstalled and reinstalled Content Patcher and SVE (those were the mods we updated today).
Unfortunately I only have the log above, which was created after the reinstall.
so, the base on the error log, i think it was cause by incorrect pathing for the farmer, so any mods that mess around with map could have cause the error

since we dont know what mod actually causing the error, best chance are you all try getting sve mod out, try if the crash is still there, and come back

Just fixed some issue. It was an outdated mod 🧐
@mortal matrix it is probably solved already but if you have not completely played a day, Jade may be spawning somewhere weird. NPCs often behave oddly when their spawn spot is changed. This fixes itself after you save for the day. If you type "debug where jade" in the smapi console does it give you an answer?

@remote cedar If you're playing SVE 1.11, there is an option in the configs to turn on "minecarts" for the farm, it adds in three minecart locations around the farm, one of which is inside the "Demetrius Cave"

(Just to clarify, its a minecart system not connect to the town minecart system, it is its own separate thing. And yes, you can turn that config on, on an already started save)

Are there any mods that shorten the time in kegs and casks and preserve jars?
I see the upgraded kegs/casks/jars mod and I have that but it's spitting the finished product out instantly.
I don't think it's the upgraded mods, I think it's the custom farming automate mod

I think BFAV loads llamas as sort of modified cows

recently... I modified the goose mod to make goose mayo and made a turkey and swan mod from the cp replacement mods on nexus. I was having problems getting it to produce from the mayo machine, but then I figured it out. This was the first time I tried to sell the goose mayo, so I thought it had something to do with that. But then I checked the log and it was talking about a shearedcow, so I thought they must not be related.
yeah I think that might be what happened. I modified a wild boar mod or something and added it to my game - and all my animals got messed up

BFAV used to use editing the config file to add animal packs, which is why older BFAV packs have a section on their pages that's just "copy this into the config file"

the unofficial update for 1.4 adds content pack support and is only barely compatible with the old config-editing

no, I checked BFAV, there's nothing from the old version that I can see, plus in the farm-animal area, it has "readyforharvest" as null for cows, and has the right files for the llama assets

weird! I can only think you could test it by buying more animals and see if they show up correctly, then you would know if it is an issue with the mods, or with your save
yc-9 I think the if2 farm is going to be really complicated to edit actually, so it's probably best to change your farmype fron 'riverlands' to 'standard' wherever you find the word 'riverlands' in your save game 🙂

This is odd o.o Multiple mods want to provide the 'Maps\KidsTreeHouse' asset (PyTK, PyTK), but an asset can't be loaded multiple times. SMAPI will use the default asset instead; uninstall one of the mods to fix this. (Message for modders: you should usually use StardewModdingAPI.IAssetEditor instead to avoid conflicts.)

damn all these npc mods patching the town map, it's taking about 45 seconds to load. removing two mods brings it down to 30 seconds... tough choices
also, upgrading CPU from i5-2400 to i5-9400f made no noticeable difference in loading times

with SVE itself they should all be compatible, with IF2R few might have problems

And updtating to beta 4 made things qworse
If they are both CP mods @toxic ridge, using them both doesn't have to cause any problems depending on how they're written

Gihbli only changes the Scarecrows but still has the entire Tilesheet and Life Cycle only adds the Wedding thingy
if you want to just merge the images and do it that way, you can use any image editor you want as long as it supports transparency

I'm a little confused. It all depends on how each mod uses the tile sheet. CP mods can choose to:
- Replace the entire asset with the one they have
- Paste over the entire asset with the one they have
- Cut and paste small pieces onto the asset from the one they have.

And I think (if i remember right) Gwen's craftables might have multiple seasonal versions of that tilesheet. That won't be one you can easily merge into other mods by combining their tilesheets.
But Gwen's also has options I think to disable certain craftable individually in Config. So you can just set the ones you don't want affected to False.
Load order also matters. CP mods are applied in alphabetical order according to their folder names in the Mods folder. So if you have a mod named "[CP] Awesome Mod" and "[CP] Not So Awesome", Awesome Mod changes will happen first, then Not So Awesome will overwrite.
This works great if Not So Awesome mod uses method 3 to edit and has a Config to toggle craftables on and off - you'll see Awesome Mod's changes showing through.
But it doesn't work well if Not So Awesome mod used method 2 to edit. Because then the entire tilesheet will be pasted over and cover all the changes from Awesome Mod.

The first 2 replace the entire asset and only 2 small parts are added. (Scarecrows and the Wedding Arch everything else is vanilla) and Gwen replaces them only piece by piece. I would like to do the same to to the first two which replace the entire asset but I dunno how :/

Guys i have accidentally deleted my mod folder, please if someone knows which mod im talking about I would love it if you could name it for me.
It was basically for automate(im not sure if this mod is a part of automate or a different mod) so you can connect chests by placing wooden tiles and stuff between them and to the chest for automate mod.

A suggestion for recovering your mods, check your Nexus download history. Another good way is if you have a recent smapi log (on your computer or shared somewhere), you can look at the parsed log on https://smapi.io/log for a list of all your mods
