@pearl stream there's no need to do that. simply launch the game through Stardew Valley.exe when you want to play vanilla and through StardewModdingAPI.exe when you want to play modded.
does everyone download mod manager or dl it manually?
a couple of people use mod managers, but manual install is widely considered the most reliable method for SDV mods
I'm pretty sure I've seen a WIP Stardew-specific mod manager on Nexus, but as it's for Windows and I'm on Mac I have no information whatsoever about its reliability

yep. If someone does use a manager though, it's considered better to use ModDrop's rather than Vortex since the second one has trouble with installing some mods and loses files sometimes
...but if what you're looking for is um, an "experienced older lady", might I suggest the mod "Stardew Valley Expanded" (only on Mod Drop atm) and the character Olivia?

it would be cool if there was a mod that made it so you can marry npcs that are married in vanilla and their kids would visit or move too (the second option mainly there because of Jas and Vincent, the other "kids" are plenty old enough to just take over house ownership)
for example Seb would probably prefer to move with Robin instead of staying with Demetrius

Well, it's specifically about the mod's Dll being non visible to SMAPI, but I ended up finding it in a folder so it still exists

and I think you have to reinstall Farm expansion, if it still does not work after you reinstall it then the problem is that the mod is outdated

I'm probably just dumb as all hecc and can't figure stuff out for myself (that or sleep deprived) but its also asking me to continually update mods, even when I deleted them and readded them.
Two content packs want to load the 'Characters\Farmer\hairstyles' asset (More Hairstyles and Yuriyuri's hairstyle). Neither will be applied. You should remove one of the content packs, or ask the authors about compatibility. these mods aren't compatible with each other
Duplicate object: Ebi Tempura just added by SSaturn's Oriental Kitchen, already added by Artisan Valley Machine Goods! i'm not sure, but i guess this could be behind some of the json assets errors
Well i removed the other hairstyle and just the duplicate Ebi one, the one mod "Dbong-caron" already has the said file- kawaii valley is what its called I do believe which is also confusing me slightly.
Mod crashed on entry and might not work correctly. Technical details: System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Mods\MoreGiantCrops\assets'. iirc the way more giant crops work is that you need to create the assets directory in its mod folder and put the "content packs" there
about the updates, they are likely just mistakes on the mod author's side, forgotting to update the manifest version number

What can i change in the SVE config file to increase fps?
not sure if there's anything the SVE config, but you can try adjusting MonsterLimitPerLocation setting in farm type manager config, say to 50-200
Using deluxe autograbber outside with a harvest large area can also cause fps drop
I'm suddenly having issues with Better Resources mod the weeds and wood only are having the vanilla versions of them overlap on each other and im not quite sure what happen? I'm not getting any errors and the only thing I changed in the mods folder was taking out A tone down stardew recolor mod...
@faint cobalt it looks like another mod is also patching the same tilesheet with Overlay mode. Probably a recolor.

That way, Eemie will go first and then the better resources will properly patch over it

i think when i was seeing what recolor was messing with Dusty's house it made eemie's map recolors get loaded first for some reason

@exotic plover you can add a dependency in the manifest of the TV mod to make it load after the furniture mod
Or you can rename the folder of the TV mod to be later in the alphabet (making it load later)

You can mostly organize your mod folders however you like, have subfolders for categories etc
A few mods are exceptions to this

SVO is truly one of those quality of life mods you might not really think about, but once you have it, you can't imagine not having it 
Can someone help >_< I was using Tunnelling Ahead, installed new mods and and the TA schedule/dialogue isn't working anymore. Even if I remove all other mods from the folder.

Basically the mod puts Alex on a different schedule and he's reverted back to vanilla schedule (I assume the dialogue has gone as well)

i was comparing it to a known thing that can happen if you have the right things in the content.josn
or wrong things, if you don't want to replace part of the map with out of bounds or visual emptiness
SVE is back on nexus, but it's 1.10.14, not 1.11.
@faint wharf Rustic Town Interior is using out-dated SVE tilesheets. You gotta manually replace them with the new sheets.
In regard to the weapons... I had an issue with my JA where I added something and it pushed everything along icon wise so my red sword was green for a bit.
Might be Json Assets being funky.
It happens sometimes when you add new things I think. I also got really odd wine and preserves.

the tunneling ahead mod is editing alex's schedule and dialog of other characters
hi, can anyone help with my issue? i've been using almost 200 mods with smapi no problem for the last few months, but today my game crashed when it couldn't load the new day and now it won't even run, no error log or anything

I checked for both days cause Saturday he is meant to go to the bus stop and Sunday he is meant to go pretty much at 6AM to 'Zuzu' and he is staying the farmhouse
okay, can you load the save and type patch export Characters/schedules/Alex on the smapi console, it'll export the schedule file to your game directory inside a folder named patch export. then you can uplaod the file to smapi.io/json and we can take a look at it
Hey all, Im struggling to use ModDrop. I installed SMAPI and ModDrop and went to install the mods for SVE, but whever I run SDV with SMAPI it says there are only two mods installed, both of which I think are from SMAPI. ModDrop keeps telling me it's installing mods but I have no idea where; they're not in Stardew's mod files or in ModDrop's files. Any advice?
for finding where the heck it's installing things to, try searching your computer for the name of one of the mods
it will be somewhere - you might have eg a second copy of stardew that's getting all the mods, or something

That's a good start. I've tried gutting the mod folder manually and reinstalling SMAPI, ModDrop, and Stardew to no effect.

Concerningly, ModDrop didn't mind that I uninstalled it; it still had all my mods installed when I reinstalled. XD

@crimson olive It looks like you have the latest version of Content Patcher, but PyTK and other mods do need to be updated, as well as SMAPI.
I think the clue to your issue may be in the Skipped mods section,PPJA Forage Pack 1.0.0 because it requires mods which aren't installed (MoreFish)
I think your errors are fish-related. Try installing More Fish (and any dependencies it may have)
i did uninstall more fish temporarily, but after i had the issue i reinstalled it and it still won't run
it's not crashing because the game won't start up so i don't have a crash log for that

hmmm. Well I still recommend updating the mods listed in the log, as well as SMAPI, and then see if that helps
yeah i just updated pytk as suggested and smapi is now the latest version but it still won't even start T_T

yeah the thing with moddrop is a lot of the versions on there are outdated
which is why i have to update manually most of the time
the only thing is, i haven't had a problem up until now? i mean, a few of the mods have been outdated for a while now and it ran with no issues
just for some reason today it crashed after it worked perfectly fine for the last three months
i'm not sure if this is the reason, but right before it crashed, i installed a new mod, Mineral Mage
i got the first event for it and then it crashed when it tried to load the new day
i wouldn't mind if it crashed again so that i can get a new crash log but i don't understand why moddrop won't even let me start the game
have you used any XNB mods by any chance? You'd have had to install them into your Stardew Valley > Content folder

Anyone else had the problem where the Joja Mart is restored when you updated SDV Expanded? In my playthrough, I already completed the community center AND the theatre, only to update SDVE, boot up my game, and realize the theater had been replaced with the JojaMart! Though the community center is still there and fully restored.
Or, at least, is there a way I can rollback my save?

yea I use the unofficial update to Teh Pers Fishing Overhaul, because I too dislike fishing, I thought I was the only one 
I hated fishing in my first game. Now I love it.

my mod folder is so unorganized that idk if i can remember what i want to use with SVE

This isn't a game-breaking bug or anything, just slightly immersion breaking, but... is there any way to keep Clint and Marlons' shop properly "sorted"? I.e. they both technically have two shop menus, for Clint that's his regular menu and the "upgrade tools" menu. For Marlon, its also his regular stock and the "recover lost items" menu. I have mods that are adding things to both of these NPCs and those items show up on both lists.

@hidden bay it seems you will have to uninstall Custom NPC Fixes and Custom Music because It it seems to be conflicting with SDV Expanded version of the mods. Also you have multiple copies of Immersive Characters - Shane mod, you should remove the duplicates.
Abandoned Bride seems to be an images instead of a mod, I suggest going to its mod page and looking at its install instructions
and you also seem have multiple copies of Stardew Valley Expanded, I recommend getting rid of SDV expanded files and reinstalling it, though I am not sure if it will fix the problem

I recommend checking out some of the PC subreddits or even pcpartpicker has some builds from other people. Currently 3000 series GPUs are impossible to find at market price and for some reason PSUs are also hard to find. You don't need much to run SDV if that's your main goal.

Yep, the DNA synthesizer produces DNA based on the animal product or critter. There's a few that are excluded because there is no vanilla equivalent (like phoenix & horse since horse doesn't produce anything). Gives players an option to grow less meat crops if they'd prefer.
And since PFM doesn't support HasMod or the equivalent I don't want to make a bunch of PFM packs for BFAV animals. I'm not happy that I had to pull the Bug Net part out but otherwise there would be a lot of warnings in the log (those should be moved to trace).

specifically while using mods rocketjay? there may be other things you can do to reduce it, i wouldn't know about a VPN without testing that out
if you share logs from host and farmhand, we could probably make suggestions for some settings you could mess with--common culprits for lag are automate (when you have a lot of machines in a single group) and farm type manager (trying to spawn too many things, often with SVE). the game can also lag severely from mods throwing errors, especially when host and farmhand's mods don't match

because yes, that's a thing SVE does 
actually the most useful thing for this would probably be:
- type
performance enableinto the black console window that runs with SMAPI - type
performance summary, same window - type
performance detail, same window - get a log--it will show the results of those commands
(for best results, wait a minute or so after performance enable to do the other two commands)

huh, wild.... you're getting lag from a couple different places, but the biggest offender is from SVE happening when you warp between locations
you also seem to be getting a bit from NPC map locations and add to workbench chests, but the major lag is coming from CP and TMXL trying to load SVE locations
what should I do
I can get rid of add to workbench chests since I have the convent chest mod
i'm not really sure if there's anything that can be done on your end, honestly, short of uninstalling SVE? it seems like the added locations are just overwhelming your computer
what you can do, though, is send a link to that log to FlashShifter and see if there's anything he can do in the way of optimizing SVE
you could also check with Platonymous and Pathoschild (TMXL and CP) to see if it's on their end, but i'm guessing your issue is just sheer numbers of maps or objects
you could also try disabling seasonal villager outfits and see if it gets any better
uninstalling SVE? you would need to get rid of any custom objects SVE adds, and anything you placed on custom SVE maps would get destroyed. you wouldn't be able to use IF2R, but you could use immersive farm 2 fix instead. SMAPI would remove all the SVE NPCs from your save for you. you would need Reset Terrain Features to reset the bushes and trees
if you weren't having lag this serious on the previous version of SVE, you could also try downgrading it and see if the lag gets better
Or Platonymous and Pathoschild
you could ping Flash here with the log, post it to SVE's nexus or moddrop page, or post it in the SVE subreddit

climates doesn't really seem to be contributing to your lag issues much if at all from what i see, but a good test to try would be to temporarily disable anything that isn't SVE or required for SVE
(the only mod you have that affects locations and uses CP and TMXL is SVE, so it's a good bet that it's SVE's maps overwhelming your game)

In this case, content patcher mods are a subset of smapi mods
So it must not be able to find the manifest or something
you might have folders from an old version that didn't delete all the way when you updated SVE
not sure what's up with the shed mod but that's probably also a case of it not finding the manifest

though it is via vortex so I'm not sure if that might affect it or not
because everything else works
yeah, vortex is notorious for sometimes messing up installs like that, especially complex ones like SVE--you're usually better off installing manually
also, if you want to keep eatums and don't want to wait until para updates fresh meat, you can always change the name of one of the batter items

For the Rustic Town Interior mod, does anyone know how to keep the texture for the kids' bed from appearing? I've already tried changing the config to false, deleted the lines completely, and even deleting the bed.png folder. The texture still keeps appearing and I don't know how to make it stop. so upgrading your luck may do the trick
i think the luck skill increases the chances of it happening when it make that check at night but i dont think in increases how often that check occurs
Yeah you can check possible meteorite days with Stardew Predictor. I don't think it's at all related to daily luck.

Only the host can see the expansion, so we're wondering if we did anything wrong or if farmhands are just not supposed to see the expansion..

just comparing the dates, it looks like the 3.4.0 beta is actually older than the 3.3.1 unofficial update, which was made to work with Stardew 1.4. So I would ignore SMAPI in this case and revert. Looking through your pre-update log now.

@pearl stream that's the only banana tree you have? you could try moving it with https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/1342 or https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2594 to see if it still has the issue; you can also check if the game is counting any of the tiles around it as "blocked" (maybe they're building tiles on the map?) with a mod like Data Layers or UI Info Suite
@old osprey Well, you do have some errors in the logs, but I'm not sure exactly what they're about, plus I don't think they're related to the farm expansion mod directly
Which means I'm at a bit of a loss. Sorry! There are a lot of old hands here so maybe someone else can jump inโฆ

@old osprey i can tell you from looking at your log that save anywhere has issues with custom locations and is giving you errors for that, and also custom furniture is semi broken in multiplayer from my experience. it works fine if the furniture is placed in the host's house, but not if it's in cabins
Yeah I know that custom furniture is broken, we only use it in my house because we had issues with it but I had no idea that Custom locations was the problem with Save Anywhere, I'll look into it

No it's not, we installed Farm Expansion today and Save anywhere was failing before that, I didn't succeed in making it work

Yeah we go to deep woods from time to time
save anywhere has some serious issues with deep woods, night owl (by the same author iirc) does too
i'm also not sure how well save anywhere works in multiplayer tbh, you may be better off not using it
Save anywhere did work with multiplayer for a while, but last time I used it by mistake, and it just crashed, we lost a day x) So yeah, we took it because we were scared to do something that would cause a bug so we wanted to be able to save just before trying something dangerous but maybe we'll just have to be careful
i'm not the most knowledgeable about code, but from my understanding, the way save anywhere is set up doesn't take into account custom locations, so if you're somewhere like deep woods and try to save, it freaks out
We never savec until we were all in the farm but that makes sense
i know that feel, i play in a heavily modded MP game as well and we've lost a lot of days :/
yeah it may be that farm expansion is also making it freak out, since that one's a SMAPI mod right?

you can always try IF2R that goes with SVE, or another big farm map like ultimate farm or i thiiink omnifarm still works
I never use mods in any game, I wouldn't be surprised if I made mistakes when installing some

hi sorry to interrupt. i am new here and i'm here because i started playing again recently. i am having an issue where any roe that i get from my fish ponds has an invisible sprite. i can interact with it normally but it's completely invisible. even when i uninstall all mods it's still happening. does this mean the image got deleted by a mod from the xnb file possibly?

it most likely is an old xnb mod causing the issue, yes. follow the steps in the top link to reset your content files (this doesn't touch your save file, don't worry!) and that second link might have an alternative for the mod you were using
thanks, i am on pretty shaky ground when it comes to understanding how mods actually work lol. i only had a few for QoL like ponyweightloss but i originally got all my mods a few years ago so before fish ponds were added
you probably have something changing the springobjects.xnb file that was never updated for 1.4, and it may be that you're unable to use it even converted to CP if no one made it compatible with 1.4 changes unfortunately

It's me agaain ! Do you by any chance know a mod that allows to skip time without going to bed everyday ? We would like to start a new game because of SDE update that recommend starting a new game but we would like to go back where we were ( Mon 1 Summer Year 2 ). the most likely thing in cases like this is that SVE changed the map in such a way that it was then impossible for the museum expansion event to play correctly
this happens a lot with people who try to use romanceable rasmodius and SVE, then get stuck in a wall in the wizard tower bc SVE changes that map
hmm tlaking about wall bug, in charlie room there is no way to enter cause the door wont open and there is a fake wall on the side, probably cause of the SVE too ๐ค
i'm not sure if mortimer is around right this minute, but what you can do is post that log to the museum expansion nexus page under Bugs. however i'm not sure if that mod fully supports SVE bc it's a lot to maintain on their end and can be very frustrating to keep up with. another thing you can do is request that Flash make a compatibility patch
well lets wait for the dev, i think i can play without entering at that place, or i will just remove the mod while it gives me this bug xD

sorry if this isnt the right channel to ask this but does anyone know of a mod that edits the fish tank in the community center? either something that lets you add fish or one that changes the tank graphics so theres fish animations in it? it just feels empty

@exotic plover depends. If deleting them from gallery only removes them from displaying there, it would be fine. But if deleting them from gallery removes the pictures from your device entirely, yeah it would break the mods (look for something to disable or opt out certain folders for images in gallery maybe)
