I'm not saying you performed an update to SVE, I'm clarifying that you should reinstall SVE by deleting all the SVE folders you have (old) before installing it again (new)
I don't think SVE is at all the problem
This isn't a content pack mod error, it's an error with something underlying to SMAPI and/or the game

couldn't find libgdiplus, which is needed to load mod images. Make sure Mono is installed and you're running the game through the normal launcher.

Mono is, to my understanding, a cross-platform open-source version of some Microsoft frameworksโwhich could be why you're not having the problem on Windows, because Windows justโฆ has the frameworks.

can you check if the file libgdiplus.dylib exists somewhere on the computer?
someone had a similar problem here a while ago and it was fixed by symlinking the library in the game folder (the StardewValley launcher tries to do it already)

So yet another question about SDVE
we just started a save file, etc.
and there are trees and rocks inside the abandoned greenhouse and on the water/ponds in our immersive farm
anyone know why that is / how to fix it?
that usually only happens when you install SVE and then use an existing save, but there is a fix
anyone have any idea why i can't warp to grampleton fields? i have the .tbin file in my TMX SVE folder, but the console returns this when i try to warp:

It works with reskiinning chickens and cats so far just wont do the cows
its saying theyre "farmanimals" instead of cows
the pngs are named the exact same way the other animals are
The log is probably saying hteres a nunch of dupes because i tried to just pull them out of the "BrownCow" folder to just sit in the "skins" folder but that didnt work
that was my last attempt at a fix
allright so, changing my mods back to a significantly earlier version in my mod backup history fixed the problem
basically before i started modding everything really hard lmao
question is, why would all the mods i've installed change my ability to warp to grampletonfields?
is there a way to get the internal names of all locations?
perhaps that might help me see if it actually still exists in my more recent mod updates
Debug Mode lets you see the names of the map (and lots of other info) with a keypress
do i need to actually be in the map already to see it?
because that's a bit of a problem trying to warp to it in the more recent version

debug warp uses a fuzzy match
so even if you misspell or something like debug warp GrapemltonFeldis it should work, if that map exists
otherwise, you can be pretty confident the map doesn't exist

i recently started modding too because i played the game on my mobile device before trying the pc version
modding can offer quite a lot but can be a bit of maintenance sometimes as well
really like the SVE mod only issue ive had so far was to do with the latest updates for the tool kit mods
it got fixed pretty damn quick though
2 days is not bad for a bug patch

I don't know exactly what happens though if the save is opened and re-saved while not using the mods that add a map where items were located
i'm assuming they're considered un-needed assets and wiped lmao

Hey y'all, trying to reset terrain for SDVE. how do I go about doing that? There are stuff in the water and on top of the delapidated green house. I'm looking at the install guide, and it tells me to use Reset Terrain Features (which seems straightforward; select the things that are in weird places, click Clear, then click Generate), but when would I need Passable Objects?
by that vein, could I also just use Passable Objects to move everywhere and clear the stuff that's in weird places?
okay, so it turns out it is all stored in the save files. loaded a much earlier save and was able to find that a lot of my work was still done

Now, since this is more of a using mods question than a making mods one, Ill ask it here: I've got upwards of 200 mods in my mods folder that I want to compat test and I believe the best way to test it is to add a few at a time, though does smapi tell you if something doesn't compat?
SMAPI tells you if it's not compat with Stardew Valley itself + there's a mod compat list for that
but as for mod clashes, it tells you if two mods try to load the same asset and clash, and if you have JsonAssets JA tells you if two mods try to add items of the same name and clash
Oh boy this'll be fun
But there may be other things SMAPI won't mention, like if you see weird texture glitches from 2 incompatible recolor mods fighting it out
So I should be alright
Generally if you read descriptions any incompatibilities will jump out at you bc its not that common unless the mods are smapi mods that touch exactly the same thing. even if u forget any documented incompatibilities, i usually just test my 300+ mods all at the same time and everyhting is fine
and i it isn't, then I test one half of the folder at a time until i find the culprit

plus with the relatively recently changes to Harmony if two code mods edit the same code the error message will probably tell you
it'll be thrown by one mod but contain the name of the other mod somewhere in it
This helps a lot, thank you guys 
eg back when lunar disturbances was incompatible with JA it would throw a Harmony patch error about shops that included "JsonAssets" in the block of data about the failed patch
how do I find my smapi crash log?
the https://smapi.io/log site has instructions for each operating system
if there is no actual crash log, the normal smapi-latest.txt log is used

Is there anyone who can tell what went wrong with my game here? It crashed when I tried to go to bed on the last day of spring.

@past latch if you updated all your mods, can you post a new log, with all the updates applied, after trying to sleep and experiencing the crash again?

from a scan of the errors, it seems that a mod or some combination of mods is trying to change the date to "Spring 29" instead of "Summer 1", which causes the crash.
Hard to tease out, but the mod(s) responsible might be one or more of:
Animal Husbandry
Dynamic Price
FarmHouse Redone

So there seems to be some conflict with Content Patcher Animation
And something with festivals

ah really? in other games i noticed the game tends to have N/A textures when that happens so its interesting that is not a case here
altho some of the items will be a little weird (strange names and invisible sprites), but you can just delete them. They won't break anything

Generally in stardew modding you just make sure you sell or destroy any items/animals/crops added by a mod before uninstalling the mod. Prevents weird error items. Sometimes it's safe to not do this, but then you get useless items that are invisible or have weird glitchy sprites, or invisible crops.

but yea it seems like you have duplicate mods, specifically Custom NPC Fixes. Try and check your mod folder, you probably have 2 copies of it

I know SVE adds Custom NPC fixes itself, so if you have SVE in a subfolder it's maybe in there

hmm one more thing i noticed was a red error to do with aquarium code
yes that is related to Custom NPC fixes, so once that is fixed that error will go away

I created my own content patcher mods, all the jsons are right and was working fine. I only used xnb files to copy over some skins like horse.xnb to content

@past latch I think that's the museum expansion. But I doubt its causing your crash? Jungle temple had to be refined to work for me.
Basically Jungle Temple is taken from a larger map and comes complete with map properties. This sets the exit about 10 tiles further east than the actual exit, causing the old exit to no longer warp you out.
To fix it open the jungle temple woods map and remove all the map properties from the left hand side then save it. Also whilst it's a neat idea, it doesnt appear to actually do anything and is more an example of the switch layer function than an actual mod. There is no reward or reveal after you open the doorways.
Are there any mods for more spouse activities? Like taking her to the town or riding her on the horse or maybe some sort of quests from her, something like this

Stardew is entirely p2p connection. The "host" does not have a server that other people join. Each person runs their own copy of the game code, affected by their own mods. Some mods change things that affect only that player, other mods change things in the world that get synced to everyone.
If you want to restrict players who join your game from using certain mods, you can use Anti-Cheat mod and specify a blacklist. It's not perfect though.

I dunno about weeds (do they destroy paths? O_o) or for paths specifically but there is a mod that makes lightning safe in general.

And for weeds, there's probably one, or maybe grab the Cheap Golden Clock mod for its weed-suppressing ability
Yea debris can destroy paths, but it can't destroy floors, so if you use floors instead, the debris will leave them alone

ahhh, yes that blew my mind, because paths can sort of prevent the spread of debris, but they can be destroyed by debris 
I've just never used them except in super late game for decoration (and now earlier for automation but in very tight groups)
yea I was using them to prevent debris spreading to where I had fruit trees or crops, but also as paths to indicate to myself where to walk, so lowkey decorations

ZaneYorks should be up to date which means the latest version of mods should work. But often times if your phone is lagging it might not be powerful enough to handle everything which usually just means you have an older device. It sounds like you have SVE installed as well which is very resource heavy.

I'm putting together a mod-pack for my buddies and myself and had a quick question - is there any way to balance "Automate" and "Chests Anywhere" so that like, you need to do something to unlock them? They both seem a bit OP out of the box.

It makes the game world time pause whenever all players are simultaneously in menu/cutscenes/dialogue, just like how singleplayer works
Because multiplayer doesn't normally work that way--cutscenes instead waste a lot of in game time, and you can't start the day by calmly arranging stuff in chests without time passing. Also, starting a cutscene late in the day will make you pass out when it's finished.
So with multiplayer time, if someone has a cutscene or needs some time to buy in a shop or rearrange, they can just ask the other players to all bring up the menu to pause time

so what happened was, I reinstalled stardew, reset all my files (except my save) and used my mods again, and it worked for a SV day. Then the next day I went to bed and it happened again

I ahven't played in a very long time so i cant tell u whats wrong of the top of my head, but you could try removing half of your mods and seeing if the error is still there (if it is, then the problem mod is in that half, if not, its in the other half)

the extra mods i have are shane marriage dialogue overhaul, winter grass, NPC maps locations 2, thomas the train (lol), seasonal villager outfits, elle's new barn animals, babies take after spouse v1
but i don't see how any of these would interfere with shane's routine
@clear phoenix hm, i don't know if it'll be any help but if you type patch export characters/schedules/Shane in the smapi console after loading the save it should export the schedule into a folder named patch export in the game folder, then you could share the file here with smapi.io/json

Hi all... I'm having a problem and I can't figure it out. I'm currently using the Solo Four Corners map mod and Pookachu's Seasonal Greenhouse Mod. Yesterday, it was working just fine. Tonight, the greenhouse is not showing correctly. It's the vanilla greenhouse. If I load another save that I have with IF2R, the greenhouse shows up as the modded Pookachu greenhouse. the pookachu's greenhouse mod doesn't seem to appear on the log at all?
It has you copy the tbin and png files to the IF2R overrides folder, but not install the rest of the mod.
If you do, there is a conflict between the two when trying to load the greenhouse stuff.

If you're using Pookachu's with IF2R (correctly), you would have installed Pookachu's a non-standard way into the IF2R overrides folder. It won't show up in the logs.
It won't work as a normal mod like that, so if you want to play a save with Pookachu's and not use IF2R, you'll need to install Pookachu's the normal way in the Mods folder.
So, perhaps that's why it worked with the other farm? Because, at one point, I did have it actually installed in the mods folder. Gosh, it was so late, I wish I could remember exactly. Maybe I'll try that and load the Solo Four Corners save and see.

I stated before but in the wrong channel:
this happened after installing some mods (too many at the same time, hubris, i know i fucked up), dealt with most of the errors except 1(?)
i know it says error characters/Emily. I removed all recently downloaded mods from the mod folder and restored original XMB character files. Still nothing. Tried to restore my whole computer to a before point but he says a file is keeping it from doing that (as to whether its a file here idk). I also followed the trouble shooting page
Any help would be appreciated and ive fiddle around a lot with it and am scared of actually permanently ruining anything
@flat pelican Judging by the error, Characters\Emily.xnb contains a data file instead of an image like it's supposed to, so it probably didn't get restored to the original version. You can try replacing it with this, which is the original. Here's the folder address for your PC:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Content\Characters

@shrewd gate sadly there's no way for the farmer to buy a house in East Scarpe but you can decorate them if you have furniture everywhere, I guess (maybe not the wallpaper/flooring)! (Or fill them with casks or preserve jars). They're designed for custom NPC housing.
We are just waiting for the custom NPCs to move in...
So I downloaded a few new mods, caught some red text in SMAPI so checked my log, sorted that out. But it's also telling me I have approx 10 mods to update.
But some of these mods, I've already updated, and there hasn't been a new upload to nexusmods, going by the date the file was put on, and the date i downloaded the file into my mods folder. Does SMAPI do this sometimes?

@celest kite It's possible some of your mods have unofficial updates (and a few aren't all up to date on Nexus). The latest versions detected by SMAPI should be linked here: https://smapi.io/mods
Some mods also have manifest issues or use different IDs for secondary folders, though, which might cause incorrect updates notices. (e.g. some mods have [CP] ModName and [TMX] ModName folders with different manifest versions)
@celest kite this also happens if the version # in the manifest.json hasn't been updated to match the version on nexus. It's harmless, so if you know for a fact you have the latest available version (official or unofficial), you can ignore it. If you want the message to go away, you can manually update the version # in the manifest.json file yourself to match what SMAPI says by opening the manifest.json files with any text editor (Notepad works).

(My Juliet and SVEs Olivia also share a birthday. I dont think it matters much except that only one will appear on the calendar at any given time and if you have individualized birthday dialogue it could get weird)

Hey if anyone could help me out please i would be so very grateful! I'm currently doing a first to 250k challenge with my friends (money is split and whatnot) and the only way i can think to verify who earned 250k (earned over time not currently held) is by using this command "/debug getstat IndividualMoneyEarned <name>" (w/o "" or <>). So far I've installed chat commands mod and i have smapi ofc but I've only been able to make that exact command work once and i have no idea why? Sorry for this being so long and ty for reading!

Yep that's my guess. I'd check his file. If it's a TMX and you are okay with editing it yourself find the but where it says "name": "1" or whatever and preface it with "z_"

Tamardia, it depends on whether there's a config already. If not, you'd have to rewrite the mod to make one

It's a Content Patcher (CP) mod, so it's a markup language, rather than proper coding (which would be C#), but you'd still be rewriting the mod

When I go and update and delete the copies I guess of the files and add in more trees mod? Legit messes with how items are seen in the game

@dire fractal it's probably not so much ignoring as that 1) chat moves fast sometimes and 2) there are mods to switch out portraits, but since dialogue is coded to reference specific ones by number I doubt you're going to get more expressions than the character had already unless the portrait mod is also a character expansion

If you fixed the duplicates, that means that you went from [number of JA mods minus all copies of the duplicates] to [number of JA mods]

All copies of duplicate mods effectively do not exist as far as the actual game is concerned; SMAPI discards them instead of loading them.
So by fixing the duplicates, it messed my save up period... ?

no it didnt it added a few people to the vanilla map, but didnt fix the actual layout
The item IDs got changed out from under them. All new items will be loaded correctly.

Did you load it with NPC Map Locations installed already? If so, then you don't need to boot up again, you can just grab your log
