but yeah, was wanting autumn trees to be a lil less purple and greenish yellow, so went in and altered the tilesheet, but have since realised that the mods tilesheet isn't being applied at all...

Itโs too unsaturated to be default. ๐ค Might want to go crawling though your mod assets to take a look. IIRC, that tree is on the spring(or insert current season here)Town tilesheets, so that will narrow down what youโre looking for greatly.
Just figure out which mod matches the tree and youโll have your answer.
Ah. Got it. In that case, Iโd take a look at both mods to even see which one is supposed to affect the tree.

Do any of you think i could get someone to make a modpack? 
modpacks are frowned upon in this community because it usually involves re-distrubuting mod creators' work without permission.
ModDrop does allow a way to create approved mod packs that don't do this, though.

Any XNB mods? (Ones that get dropped into the Content folder)
There is two separate problems I think.
One is him not moving, which is likely to be an issue in his schedule data or a map (quite likely the spouse room. Try giving a bouquet or whatever is needed to switch the main spouse.)
The second issue is him looking like that, which is either an xnb mod or an outdated content patcher mod.
Do this to double-check for xnb problems

I'm having an issue with my pigs. They don't produce anything with full hearts. Once I stopped petting them they started digging up truffles again. Took me a few weeks to even realize they didn't produce anything so I can rule out bad luck from the equation. Now I don't know if it is an mod issue or core game issue I am having.

Oh no, that sounds similar to the issue I was having in which one of my chickens suddenly stopped laying eggs. For me, I had to lock them in the coop at night, and then they'd lay eggs. We didn't actually find the solution though.
On the truffles though, can you confirm you're meeting the conditions for the pigs listed under the Produce section here?

Yes, if I don't pet the pig it digs up the truffles (I said pigs originally but it's only the one pig)
Did you only have the issue with one of your chickens? I only have one pig so it might go away if I sell that one and replace it with others. (I'm about to hit winter so the testing with it will have to wait)
In my case I had only 2 chickens on this save, and 1 had been producing eggs and stopped, while the other chicken continued to produce. We tested locking them in at night, and that was enough for both chickens to lay eggs in the morning. Then I could unlock the door and let them go outside (I got Automated Animal Doors to do it though lol)
Do you have Lookup Anything installed? If not, you can get it, and toggle Data Mining Fields on in the config.json, then load up your save, and use Lookup Anything on the pig (default keybind is F1). That will give you a ton of data (I took screenshots for mine) so we can take a look and see if there's anything odd there

I've run into some trouble with lookup anything now. I opened it once and then accidently closed it again and even after restarting the game a few times I can't get it to open up again. The search toggle (default Shift+F1)work for me but not the normal one (default F1)
Do you have another mod using F1 as a keybind? 
I do not, tried changing it to F5 with no change

@halcyon shuttle nothing seems to be out of place, and both the "before the pet" and "after the pet" show "produce ready: Truffle" so I'm not sure what's wrong

That almost sounds like the animal bug from way back. They'd go over the max friendship and it would end up in negatives or something. And they'd stop producing. Something like that.

@dim shoal I'm pretty sure you need the Casks Everywhere mod for casks to work in the quarry.

Actually, Automate includes similar code so that casks do work anywhere, there should be a toggle in the config.json for it

@mint pawn did you find the answer? I had an issue finding this tree myself once back and realised that it is in a different tilesheet than the other trees. So, if you have a mod that targets the townexterior tilesheet but not the spring outdoors tilesheet, that's why your other trees are fine but that one isnt

iirc you're using Stardew Foliage Redone and A Less Yellow Stardew (ALYS), I think both of them change trees
You may be able to fix that by adding a dependency within the manifest.json for Stardew Foliage Redone, so that ALYS loads first, and Foliage Redone loads after

I think it's the dependencies thing. I have those set and don't have those issues, so that's likely what's happening
so recolor mods edit the images by either replacing the image or by overlaying the image with another image. Basically putting one on top of the other

With everything set this way, you'll have both the bushes from Flower Valley and Foliage Redone, and both the trees from Flower Valley and Foliage Redone.
The difference is, the trees and bushes that can't be cut down / picked will be in the Foliage Redone style, while trees and bushes that can be cut down / picked will be in the Flower Valley style

Yea the way that these recolors are done, you get grass + dirt as a package deal, can't use the grass from one mod and dirt from another. It'd require extensively rewriting the mods to only use one instead of both

if you're toggling off grass in foliage redone, it's the hay grass. Grass you walk on is a package deal with the dirt changes, and can't be toggled on and off

yeah I don't think it actually matters what they are named. You can just add as many grass files to that folder as you like, and your grass in game will be a random mix!

uhhh did you have to elevate permissions to install reshade, like, be an admin, or enter an admin password?
not that i'm aware of. I just ran the reshade .bat and smapi's .exe was deleted and I can't reinstall it. I have unistalled reshade and still no.
I'm going to try the turn it off and on again method in case that helps

Itโs a common error with new files since they arenโt recognized and itโll say itโs a trojan when it isnโt. After a few days and enough people download it you should stop getting that error.
I know. I read it. Was just mostly commenting it's weird that I've never had Smapi do this before. Windows get your crap together! xD
Frankly I wish there was a way to tell Windows that I know what Iโm doing download and run it anyways but alas
Itโs happening a lot more frequently. I used to never get it but now I do. Most likely there was a Windows update that changed stuff.

You can stop windows from automatically annihilating SMAPI when you download it
even with the new windows update, but it's kind of a hassle tbh

Also, does anyone know if there's a mod that lets you move the farmhouse and greenhouse like any other building? Sometimes I wish I could live like a cabin-person in a specific area of the farm, rather than being stuck in one spot. I know MTN does this, but I'm not sure if that only applies to if you're making a new map or...
I think it only applies when making a new map, same with Farmhouse Redone (FHR)
those locations are hardcoded, so that's the reason why it's not simple to make a mod that allows you to move those buildings

Anybody know if bathroom after 2nd upgrade and basement after 2nd upgrade are compatible with immersive farm SVE? i don't see it working but i might be dumb.

Hey so Im trying to update smapi from nexus but my windows defender keeps stopping it saying it has a virus attached to it, any reason why?

sometimes also a log won't show up until after you've played an in game day and saved, or created a new farm if you don't have any saves yet
I have a couple saves, and yes the mods dont do anything, apparently theres a keyboard mod that comes with, but it doesnt shos up, not exactly sure how its supossed to work
A successful smapi install on Android (or Kindle?) should create a second app icon used to launch the game with mods

For most mods it'll be
- download archive
- extract archive contents to mods/
- done
For things you can configure you might need to launch the game once after putting things in mods/ to generate a config.json file, that you can then edit for choosing settings, but the basic process is the same or similar for most SMAPI mods.
(also, to hopefully ease your anxiety somewhat: if you somehow mess up and install a mod wrong, in 99% of cases it's not going to mess up your game or your save file at all! the one thing to avoid is mods that ask you to install them by overwriting your game's content folder, also called xnb mods)
Also nothing wrong with not knowing a thing you've never done before. Most people in here are pretty nice. ๐

usually the worst thing that happens is that either a mod doesn't run, in which case your SMAPI log will tell you why that happened and how to fix it, or your game will sometimes crash if something major goes awry but that's usually fixable pretty quickly too and is often the fault of us mod makers :P

tbh i would maybe avoid video tutorials, most are pretty outdated
we've had people come in here with suuuper old versions of SMAPI they got from old videos, or have weird issues bc they were following an old tutorial

Yeh. "extract" is a more technical & general term. "unzip" is commonly used slang because the most popular archive format is .zip files

the vanilla exe is still there if you ever want to run with no mods though

It shouldnโt be, but the folder is located in the desktop which is automatically backed up to the iCloud

You could try playing both of those in anything that can play music, then check ls -al again and see if that 168 changes to something larger.

If using the files in a music player once each doesn't change anything, you could try telling icloud to exclude that directory from syncing, (and maybe reinstall that [CM] directory after) and see if that stops... whatever icloud seems to be doing.
Im using smapi for some visual mods with content patcher and ui info suite. I wanna use my switch pro controller and whenever I try to use a controller it doesn't work

We recommend manual installation, but if you're going to use a mod manager, ModDrop seems to have fewer quirks than Vortex. Some people do use Wabbajack, but it's considered a bit overkill for Stardew Valley, since it was designed with Bethesda games in mind, and SDV modding is rather simple, just putting mods into the Mods folder

Is there a simple mod for adding crafting recipes? I saw it was achievable editing game files but that seemed rough for sharing to my friends.

I recommend checking mod that add crafting item to see how it works. U can ask in #making-mods-general if u run into any difficulties

so, im kinda stumped with smapi. i have done the launch option through steam, and it works fine (opens smapi), but when it loads it says something to the effect of steam not recognized/ running. on top of this, i have all the prerequisite mods/ files for SDVExpanded extracted properly in the mods folder where smapi and sdv are installed, but it isnt recognizing them in the smapi console
why isnt it recognizing them or recognizing steam?

about steam you just need to add smapi to the launch commands in steam as far as i know

Weird, I was playing LAN with my girlfriend and Steam didn't even have to be running

also i should add, maybe it would make a difference, but the windows install is arabic, this caused some issues with the smapi installer so we installed it manually (i think with the way "Program Files (x86) is named)

In your steam/steamapps/common, you can just copy your Stardew Valley folder somewhere else
At least I could still run it, after doing that
So for example here

If you want steam integration, hold shift and right click on SteamModdingAPI, and copy as path
Then in Steam in launch options, paste it and add %command% after
For example: "C:\Stardew Valley\StardewModdingAPI.exe" %command%
You can also just reinstall SMAPI and it'll give you the path
so we tried to get the log file, but it didnt produce SMAPI-crash.txt or SMAPI-latest.txt

we are currently moving the directory outside of the program files (x86) folder as ruukas suggested to see if that will produce a result

Heya um... quick thing, for some reason my farm animals were originally fine but I reloaded due to... a glitch... then my farm animals stopped producing consistently. Are saying they are fine after eating grass even, and when they do produce its low quality trash. I do have bfav but I thought a lot of people weren't having problems with it anymore since the unofficial update by mouseypounds??? Log shows absolutely nothing upon startup

You put the path to StardewModdingAPI.exe in your Stardew Valley folder
The path should be surround by quotes if there are any spaces
And then add %command% after
Hold shift and right click
You'll get something like this "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\StardewModdingAPI.exe"
Then add %command% so it's "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\StardewModdingAPI.exe" %command% (depending on your installation location)
You can also just re-run the smapi installer and it will show the exact text you need to paste in the console.

one that unlocks the color pallet (colorful chests)
another that makes them bigger (mega storage)
one that adds labels that get shown on hover (but you can also use wooden signs for the same-ish purpose) (chest label system)
one that lets you craft from nearby chests and categorize them for fast storage (convenient chests)
hey, I'm having trouble with the harder CC bundles mod with PPJA and wondering if anyone has any ideas how to fix it

I've set the config to use PPJA, but the pantry bundle is vanilla
the other bundles (as far as I can see using Lookup Anything) are the PPJA ones
have you completed any bundles before installing the mod?

hmm, well ive never used ppja so im not sure if the pantry is supposed to change or not
I've had a look at the assets and content.json and it should, but no clue why it won't

Can you go into the game again, open the pantry bundle, type patch summary into the SMAPI console and then type patch export Data/Bundles as well?
