linecall, I recommend checking the mod description and comments. Most mods work fine on existing saves. At most you'd have to do some tweaks, and if you do, it'd be specified in the mod description / install instructions.

Hiya can anyone help? Just seen content patcher automate etc have been updated. And it says they require SMAPI 3.7.2 android smapi is still on 3.6.2 will they not work now then if I update?
Yep, if something requires a higher SMAPI version than you have, you should wait to update.
Can someone help me out with installing smapi (and if possible vortex) Linux?
I know one person that used Vortex on Linux through wine, but since Stardew modding is just dragging folders into a Mods folder, it's really simple to just manage them manually. There's no need of any load order managing or anything like that, as SMAPI handles that through dependencies.

If it's already extracted (ie not still in the zip), have you tried double clicking it? You may need to right click mark as executable.
You can also just open a terminal in that folder and drag that file onto it and press enter to run it.
Or ./"install on Linux".sh or any way you would normally run something, hehe

You're also using Stardew Reimagined, which is a vanilla map replacer. You can't use multiple "replace all the maps" mods at the same time.
(Keep in mind too that while it's totally your choice to test a ton of potentially incompatible mods at the same time without checking anything, please don't report issues to mod authors about them. They write install guides and descriptions for a reason, and mods that change many parts of the game at once are never going to be things you can just throw in a folder with every other mod on the Nexus and expect to work

I have deleted Kermylla's mod and Stardew Reimagined and still the great corrupted tiles persist to exist
So I'm running the SVE mod and I have donated 90 artifacts/minerals to the museum and just got the rock candy but I still have no Rusty Key. I should have gotten the Rusty Key back when I hit 60 artifacts. Had the requirements changed for the Museum in the Expansion? Please don't tell me my file is bugged...

Okay to those who run the PPJA crops, i have concerns/questions. I just planted a field of Juniper Berries for winter, like... 1900 crops. Each crop yields 3 a piece, right? At seed price buy of 80, and then the sell price is 65g with a quantity of 3+...
I'm looking at the spreadsheet for the sell price and actually whiel typing this out i may have figured it out but why is it amounting to a little more than 120K with the math instead of 3 times that if the sell price is 65g? I've concluded is because one harvest of 3 is equal TO the 65 but it feels a little bit on the cheap side. :c
That spreadsheet is incredibly outdated.
I welcome balancing changes but it should be that each berry (no skills or stars) is worth 65g Edit: Yeah its been nerfed to 15g awhile back per berry without skills or stars. This was due to people complaining that it was a cash crop since it could regrow multiple times in the season and make people a ton of money.

hmm. When you run smapi it should always print the mod folder location as one of the first log outputs
There's no need to activate, simply adding the folder of a mod into the Mods folder is all that's needed.

So on SVE there are several added areas to the original map. Like the little area next to the Players farm below the bus. It wont let me access it. and on my smapi it says "Antisocial mod not loaded"

Hi, I have a mod installed called Happy Birthday which lets the player character celebrate a birthday. I had my birthday (Spring 28) for the first time and noticed that I got birthday wishes and a party but no gifts from anyone, even my spouse, even though I picked a loved gift (didn't save the day because I want the birthday to go right). dreamy valley reshade has a screenshot with these pink weeping willow type trees, these arent in eemies recolor, is it a part of the reshade or a different mod entirely?

It keeps saying i can update the shiko mods. Including the festival locations and spouse room, but i cant find the updates. I checked the creators profile but cant find the files
it's a problem with the manifest
meaning the author forgot to update the mod version in the mod information file
you can either ignore the message, or edit the manifest.json file in the mod's folder to show the number SMAPI is telling you you can update to. Sometimes mod authors update the mod and change the version number on Nexus, but forget to change it in that file so SMAPI gets confused and thinks there's still an update. 🙂
It still wont load the map location of the areas next to my farm. It is running properly but continues to not allow entry

That's one mod with three parts.
So, one download, and in that download there is a folder that contains three folders. (You don't need to take those three folders out of the Fizzy Drinks 2.0 folder.)
i have update it yet , i wasn't for sure it was the three part
You'll need to delete the folders from the previous version of Fizzy Drinks as some things were rearranged.

Isis you need to delete the old Fizzy Drinks folders from your mods folder - I don't know how you organized them but in my mods folder they were [JA] Fizzy Drinks, [PFM] Fizzy Drinks, and [FTM] Fizzy Drinks.

When you download the Fizzy Drinks mod, the zip you download will contain a folder named Fizzy Drinks 2.0
You just put that in your mods folder.

(If you had a folder named just Fizzy Drinks, or Fizzy Drinks 1.0 or something, you need to delete that before putting in the new Fizzy Drinks 2.0 one.)

Smapi can be left on your desktop, within that folder should be an installation exe
@mental fjord generally mods will say if they work on android or not on the mod page. most should work at this point, the main issues are with loading too many items or monsters with FTM

You will have to configure your launch options for steam however, which is just the full path to the stardewvalley.exe

it's not a bad method, but if you try to launch the game after each addition you'll get a lot of errors like that

I'm torn between the two.

i haven't tried the ccbo, but if you do decide to use it, note that it needs the unofficial content patcher conversion, it's linked it the comments. i have tried cccb, i think it's pretty balanced, more difficult than native but not by too much. i would use it over the other option because it has modded items

Good thing you asked, cause the lovely folks here helped me get the answer :
If you make a windows shortcut either for StardewValley.exe or StardewModdingApi.exe, it will launch the game, but not through steam. If you want to keep track of achievements, time played and have the steam overlay, you can add smapi exe as a non steam game and launch it through steam. We don't really know why, but it works, steam shows you're playing Stardew and tracks everything as if you were in vanilla.

paranoid warnings doesn't do anything to your game, and actually you have console commands so you're probably using desktop SMAPI - if you want SMAPI to stop logging that Save Backup accesses the filesystem (to backup your save files) there's a smapi config file in smapi-internal
so you can turn it off

So... as I said yesterday, I installed mega storage mod. It was working fine for a few in-game days, but in the end turned into normal chest. Can still retrieve items but can't put more than regular 3 rows.

I've been having a look at debug commands, and was just wondering if there is one to clear a specific coordinate? e.g., if you have a broken JA bigcraftable on farm x40 y34, is there a command like debug clear farm 40 34? @sonic echo looks like your issue with the all might mod is in your config. double check the instructions on the mod page--there's only one set of portraits that can be animated, i believe aeolian's with no mask. so make sure if you want animated portraits that you have those options, and if you want another portrait style, you need to turn off animations.

that actually is probably an easy fix--do you have your computer sound turned off, headphones plugged in, anything like that? looks like the game can't find a sound device and is freaking out
try unplugging any headphones and plugging back in (or turning bluetooth headphones off and on) and restarting your computer

It will not affect your game, SMAPI will report issues but the animations will still play fine.

there's several ways! you can launch Stardew Valley from the vanilla exe, which looks like a white chicken, or you can rename your mods folder to start with a full stop

@plain jacinth So I've met Toshi now (yay!) but I loaded him onto an existing save, where I am already high hearts with many of the villagers and on the next day my mailbox was jam filled with him discussing 8-heart events. It felt a little jarring because although I knew the people he was talking about well, I didn't know him at all. Is it possible to stagger them or have them appear on different days of the week, for example? Obviously, it probably would work more smoothly on a new save.

I've seen this before - Custom Music is crashing, which prevents part of SVE from loading in, and the other parts throw errors
NoAudioHardwareException it's an issue with your computer's audio. Are you getting sound ok? Switched audio outputs or using bluetooth headphones maybe?

Custom Chores/Help for Hire is slightly broken and it won't save changes. You have to load your save, purchase the chores, then exit and load your save again to get working chores.

Send a bug report to Help for Hire about that; and reloading saves works but you do need to exit to desktop and not to title if quitting to title has stopped working.

Yeah it looks like somehow Content Patcher's folder just...missed your mods folder.
Maybe you put it in the folder next to the mods folder by mistake?
Or put it in some other mod's folder by mistake, where SMAPI won't see it.
Also you don't need to keep the SMAPI installer in your mods folder; you can safely delete it. It's just an installer.

it seems strange because all the other mods are in the correct place. are you checking this path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Mods

The save anywhere mod works and loads fine, it's going to sleep that causes a crash

I'd suspect a mod conflict
I'd probably revert and use the same cheats but don't cheat for the modded backback and see if there is a different result
The cheat was for money. I just bought the modded backpack from the store
If it fails after reverting then the conflict isn't related to the actions you took but the mods being used in totality

put a . in front of all your mod folders and remove and relaunch one by one until it crashes - the last mod you removed the . from likely is causing the conflict and should be avoided
SMAPI won't load folders starting with a .
I'd also say something about Failed to serialize: ForestWest might be causing issues. One of the maps is failing to serialize, so that might be where the game is throwing a fit, since it's trying to do stuff with a non-existent map
I remember managing to go to the ForestWest area while I was playing and exploring it a bit

Hm Demetrius comes after you've earned a certain amount of money usually. If you gave yourself money with cheats, he could come as early as day 2.

Somewhere, one of your mod folders is or has too many folder names in it that are too long.
Did you install Abigail - The Extended Unrated Director's Cut 8K Gold Limited Edition - Abigail Still Eats Quartz?
That one is very often the culprit 🤣
You can usually fix it by renaming the folder name(s) to something shorter. If they are the containing folders (as opposed to a folder inside the mod) it won't have any chance of affecting the mod's functionality.

(You should usually always pull stuff out of the extraction folders when installing, because those have long names full of unnecessary characters)

that should answer your first question! as for your second, they will probably all break for a day or two (or as long as it takes modders to get updates out), but you should be able to keep using the majority of them once framework authors get their stuff up to date (like CP and TMXL)

i haven't used GG in a while so i'm not sure if this is fixable? it may be that it's just out of date at this point, but we would need to see a log either way
that's definitely an issue with get glam itself. from the comments on the mod, it looks like you could try scrolling down to the old files and rolling back to 1.0.4, changing the MinimumAPIVersion field in the manifest to 3.6.0, and only using a max of 2 hair packs

When I compared it to other CF mods, I noticed that the rotations for some windows were 1, and other 2 but they still changed to night dynamically because they had their night image next to the day image

when you launch the game with smapi it also launches a console window, the updates are shown there (and uploading your smapi log to smapi.io/log also shows them, and if you have many updates it's probably easier to use that website, because you have clickable links to the updates)

no, you just need to swap out the mods. Sprite replacements like that can be changed at any time

Elle’s was a CP, the arcanine is a BFAV, both I just dropped. I think I’ve avoided xnb files mostly
don't remember what bfav means. but yeah the cp mod you just delete and there won't be any issues
