gotcha ill double check the requirements
For example I have a mod that’s adds an extra town to the desert but I need to instal another mod that for the bus then that bus mods needs another mod that I need to download
Yah make sure to download everything it requires even check the ones that are downloaded to see if they needed something else to run

More giant crops is unique in that the "content packs" for it are just images/png files named with the number ID if the crops that you move to the assets folder of more giant crops
Do you have sleep worker installed?
I had that problem before n removing that mod solved it for some reason

Hey im looking for some advice on how to get CP Seasonal Villager Outifts to work - the files are in my mod folder but SAMPI isn't registering it on loadup and neither is my vortex app, I obviously have content patcher installed too but idk what else to do

I am new to using MODs I have been playing it normally and wanted a change, I am trying to install the Hudson Valley Building Mod and can't figure out how to get it to change the buildings. any help would be great.

did you take a look at the config.json in the hudson valley buildings mod folder? the description says to edit it

i assume that log didn't have a save loaded? in which case could you upload a log after loading a save, also you could type patch summary in the smapi window before taking the log

well, hudson valley is only editing craftables there
No idea why, but I keep getting the in-game message that my Lemon Tree won't grow, and I have... no clue why that is
You have to clear the area surrounding fruit trees for them to grow.
the message is from ui info suite, joys of efficiency or similar i'm pretty sure. if you have better fruit trees or other mods that enable them to grow without satisfying the vanilla requirements it doesn't necessarily mean that it won't grow

vanilla stardew has a "tree failed to grow" message
in my defense it has been a long while since i played vanilla...
Deep Woods has fruit trees, which are not always placed so they can grow
The area around it is clear of anything that would prevent it from growing ((the tiles are there mainly to show the area around it, I do know how trees work in the game
Finding that grass/tree seeds hiding behind my fruit trees was always an adventure
deep woods is supposed to suppress the notifications from trees planted in the deep woods but it's possible if you have deep woods + some UI mod that the UI mod might be suppressing the suppression or something
I don't have any mods that affect UI
for a while every so often people would come in like "i got a message my [x] tree failed to grow but i don't have one" and it was always deep woods

As I am in the middle of installing it but struggle to see which of the 3 folders I need , the abbreviations used are not explained on the mod page clearly
There are supposedly 2 versions but there are 3 folders
all of them
they are different parts of the mod
the different versions part might be a reference to the config options the farm has (via config.json that is generated in the folder that starts with [CP] after launching the game once with the mod installed)
does cm , tmx , ftm stand for like languages
as i am running into the same thing with the main mod installation

the folders are content packs for those frameworks

@blissful rapids I can't find anything with those descriptions on nexus. Your best bet is probably to manually look through the Characters and Clothing mods.
@stiff plume Amherst worked as well. the [CP] Hudson Valley Buildings folder should just be in the Mods folder. maybe try deleting the mod and reinstalling it again. if it doesn't work take a log and we'll look at it again

Mods\[CP]Yellog's dark brown and cream colored furniture, Mods\[CP]Yellog's Furniture looks like these two mods have the same unique ID, so if you want both to load you could try changing one of them. But I have a feeling they probably both override the same furniture, so there's no way to use both out of the box
if you want to pick and choose which version you want from each mod, you can probably frankenstein the spritesheets together
and just to clarify, these are reskin mods that change what the vanilla furniture look like, they don't add new ones

I think milder starblue was taken down bc the dev wanted to work more on it after 1.4 changes. Last I checked the message on nexus was that it was still WIP

So the vanilla game has been working fine over IP. I don't use GOG Galaxy or Steam; just bought the game from GOG and installed it without using their play platform. It's been working fine but after installing a variety of mods it doesn't connect anymore.

After looking like SMAPI was the issue I read the manual instructions which was simply unzip and copy/paste. There were 5 additional files added this way than through executing the batch file; unsure if it will make a difference.
On top of not being able to connect via IP the game crashed a couple of times as well (this was before copying the additional files manually). It hasn't yet crashed so fingers crossed, but the multiplayer connectivity doesn't work.
I run the game by modifying the shortcut target to: "C:\GOG Games\Stardew Valley\StardewModdingAPI.exe". I haven't been running it in admin mode so I could try that if it might be some permission issue. I've disabled antivirus as well.
I might be wrong, but as far as I know you can't use Stardew multiplayer without connecting through the Steam or GOG client.
You can actually, using IP, vanilla or modded
I used to be too lazy to hook my modded MP setup to steam so I always manually connected via IP
otherwise tho I have no idea how to troubleshoot MP errors, it's always kinda just worked for me thankfully

i was trying to use a recolor map instead of the vanilla one that comes with the npc map locations

Yeah the MP looks like it only accepts an IPv4 address; v6 throws errors when entered. If any component would be interferingg with multiplayer it would be the SMAPI correct?

JA handles IDs dynamically per save file, so it doesn't initialize anything until after you've picked a save
so before loading a save, JA items don't exist
JA has to work like that to be able to not entirely break each time you add or remove JA packs
nope, hair is CP because hair is just a tilesheet
clothing is JA because they're actual items
tilesheets are basically replacements for og stuff while actual items are.. actual new items?
yeah
depending on how its coded, some tilesheets can also be extended and used, so you can have hair that don't replace vanilla hair by appending more hair to the tilesheet
how compatible is longevity with JA stuff, how much of the rebalancing is done procedurally?

the item is added using json assets and the code is just calling the vanilla code you access from robin's menu
omg I missed a firewall checkbox. facepalm Multiplayer works just fine now...
and manual installation (installation; unzip copy paste) of SMAPI seems to have fixed the crashes. Seems to have missed a couple of files when installing via batch file

Hmm, I might delete your BFAV and reinstall, looks like it's missing some files. Looks like you need a couple extra mods to run yours, Stardew Hack and Mail Framework
I might delete everything that says flowergrass and snowfields, like everything, and download a clean copy. That's helped me before! I'm not super official, this is just from my experience, so I'm sure someone will help you more if none of this fixes anything!

exit the game and do not end theday or the game will over write your save and then do that

if you save you anythingthat changed will be permanent unless y ou rolllback your save and if you do that. all the edits you made will be reversed

Undo the last save
If something went wrong, you can undo the last save.
For a save from Linux/Mac/Windows/Android:
Find your save files.
You should see two files with an _old suffix in the name; if not, ask for help instead!
Back up your save folder just in case.
Delete SaveGameInfo and the file that looks like YourName_123456789.
Remove the _old suffix from SaveGameInfo_old and the file that looks like YourName_123456789_old.

That's a normal error farmhands get with Spacecore

Child to NPC isn't compatible with Linux/Mac currently (that isn't a new issue in the unofficial update). The next SMAPI update will rewrite the issue that's breaking it though, so it'll start working.

I'm having an issue with Child to NPC in multiplayer. When the other player's child aged up, that NPC was removed to "avoid a crash." When I load in, the other player can see her child as an NPC, but I cannot. Then my game crashes when I leave the farm. We both have smapi, content patcher, child age up, child to npc, npc custom fixes; however, her child to npc mod wouldn't work from the Nexus site, so she got hers from the unofficial link that was provided. Any ideas?

I should add that the npc was removed on my end, but not the other players. She sees her child as npc just fine.

The original author of childtonpc has been MIA for a while unfortunately, and Pathos has just unofficially updated a couple things so that it still runs with the newest Content Patcher updates. If there are deeper problems with the code relating to multiplayer & such, it might not be something Pathos is willing to take on as additional maintenance.

the cause is missing the content patcher part of SVE, but you're missing others too, so i'd do a fresh re-install of it

Something is preventing Custom Music from working, which is preventing SVE's main CP file from working. So none of the rest of it works.

get glam can change hair and such, clothes are just items that you can swap, you just need to get them somehow
if you want new clothing and hair, look at content patcher hairstyle packs or get glam for hair and json assets for new clothing
customize anywhere, tailor mouse (adds a shop for clothing) or cjb item spawner are good ways to get the items

you can use all three too
also, don't try to use get dressed or kisekae, they're outdated--json assets is the alternative for clothing and get glam for hair

if you get the custom furniture version of a mod instead of the content patcher version you can have more furniture that way

content patcher will edit the furniture tilesheet and you can't have multiple mods editing the same tilesheeet at one time
custom furniture can be used to add the furniture tilesheet as custom furniture items you use with the custom furniture mod itself

adding new ones is done by JsonAssets packs, search the Clothing category on Nexus for anything newer than November last year
and also the PPJA abandoned pack thingy which is where conversions of abandoned packs go, there's a few good clothing ones there
(before November last year clothing was I think part of farmer base? and wasn't items.)
(so when the November update came out it broke almost every existing clothing mod at once and we had to scramble to update them to the new format. we were warned the update was a huge overhaul...)

If it's the former, there's a content.json you'll need to make to Stardew Foliage Redone. If it's the latter, it's just setting the Flower Valley config to turn off foliage

alright looking at the reshade, the config is pretty minimal, so to turn off the bushes, you'd have to open up the content.json, and then comment out the bushes section. You have 2 options there; you can at // at the beginning of every line in that section, including the brackets { },
OR you can comment out the section by adding /* at the beginning of the first line, and add */ at the end of the last line.

really it could go anywhere but convention is to add it at the end, just make sure the previous line has a comma at the end, for formatting (otherwise the game won't read it and you'll get errors)

I know right? ALYS was my very first map recolor and I have loved it since, no other can compare. They either use too light a dirt color for my preference, or are too desaturated. I love that ALYS feels vanilla but with added oomph lol

yea I made a minor one, to change the Adventurer's bundle to require gemstones instead, but I also have hopes of one day making a CC bundle mod as well, so definitely go for it :D glad you're inspired~
and i think if i use a less yellow i wont have the map (bc id have to use foliage only and foliage only doesnt have the map)

I meant to replace the mini maps
it's technically simpler to replace the map if you don't use NPC Map Locations, although it wouldn't be a "mini" map at that point, would just be the map in the inventory menu

with NPC Map Locations, you'd have to check the NPC Map Locations mod page to see if they have a compatibility patch for the mod you want to use

I am, kaznej, they're listed in my mod list o: got a couple for walls and floors, and 1 for the kitchen
@bleak venture if you're making a C# mod, yes you can create it to load after every content patcher pack has loaded.
If you're just using a mod, and it's a CP mod, you'll need to add optional dependencies in its manifest for every pack you want it to load after. (Or I guess rename its mod folder to go late in the alphabet.)
If you're using a mod and it's not a CP mod, even dependencies may not work - it might load after all content packs, but its edits will always be applied first unless it's been coded in a way to guarantee otherwise.
So using dependencies won't work with C# mods?

Dependencies do work, the problem is that content patcher itself delays registering the edits from all packs that are made for it by a single update tick. There isn't a way to change this on the user side. Are you coding your own C# mod?
