All good now, I updated everything the other day must have been the one file I missed π thanks tho~
I was surprised when I first started modding it how smoothly I could continue my year 4 vanilla save game once SVE and a few others were put in.
@toxic pond turns out there's already a "SeedSellPrice" field you can use, it just wasn't listed in the docs π

Having a sewer section for him just doesn't seem right. A cave area matching floor 80+ would have made more sense if anything
I haven't seen one (yet) but if it doesn't exist that would probably be a pretty beginner-friendly mod to make, as far as map mods go

hey, just making sure im doing this right. I got the NPC locations on Map mod and installed smapi, now all i need to do is drag and drop the "NPCLocations" folder into the mods folder? or do take everything inside that folder and put it in the mods folder?

XNB mods often break the game and are not recommended. See https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Using_XNB_mods for more info (and a list of Content Patcher alternatives), and https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Troubleshooting#Reset_your_content_files to fix problems caused by XNB mods. For mod creators, see https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Editing_XNB_files for help unpacking & editing them (including for use with Content Patcher).
Content patcher is highly preferred over XNB mods as said above
If you can find a CP alternative we reccomend using that instead as it doesn't replace the game's files
Though for the former question, just put the NPCLocations folder in the mods folder @hybrid root

would the other players
need both mods to be able to join?
@hybrid root if you read mod descriptions it often tells you.
Like for Unlimited Players mod, only the host needs it and the farmhands don't need it at all for it to work.
For NPC Map Locations, the host needs to install it plus optionally any farmhands who want to use the features.
If a farmhand doesn't have NPC Map Locations mod, it will be fine (as long as they do have SMAPI and are not running the game completely vanilla)

maybe? i've never tried to make a water tile buildable, i cant say for sure how they will interact but i can do a test
I believe making any tile with a water property placeable would require C# coding.

It just started freaking out to the point that it will let me join but once i end the day and it starts anew? It will freeze me in place while the mod loader repeats the same error code at the bottom

@rugged hazel the SpaceCore error is normal in multiplayer (and the error message itself is a mistake since it works fine). Don't need to worry about that one.
The repeating errors at the end are actually from something to do with Climates of Ferngill mod, so you can post about the issue on that mod page maybe.

yeah, ya need to ask for permission to do any edits cuz the person in question owns their work, cuz its their creation, their IP, n they made it in the end. So any edits you'll need to get permission from the original author, which they may or may not give, or have conditions on modifications.
Which at minimum from any mod author would probably be, dont sell my work for profit. and many would have more conditions
wish we could tell this to those mod websites
or rather i wish they would listen without having to actually persue legal action
I tried to leave a comment asking them to take down my mod and it wasn't even posted
they know full well what they are doing is illegal
but you'd have to take them to court to punish them for it, and they know it. and court costs

You can always try reporting them to their web hoster. Out of 2 sites i reported like that one did take my mods down.

Report from the wrong channel lol. So, removed all my mods, restarted my game. Been a long time since I played. I have PPJA - Fruits and Veggies installed and it was working the last time I played, but, I've noticed Pierre doesnt have the new seeds; hes got the meat seeds, the trees and the flowers (from the other PPJA assets), but not the crops. I cant remember if they just arent available from the get go (Its Spring 8, Year 1) or if there is something wrong.

I did notice that some of the mods are saying they can be updated despite me having removed all my mods and then redownlaoding them....I seem to recall that being a thing last time I played too
also you might want to check on smapi.io/mods and search for the ppja mods
Looks like the only thing listed there is "PPJA Producer Converter" which I do not have. Whats interesting to me is that More Trees and Fresh Meat and, presumably, Mizu's Flowers are working, as I see the new trees, flowers and meat plants in Pierre's
I do not have anything else installed that modifies crops (that im aware of anyway)

XNB mods are not loaded by SMAPI, they actually directly replace the game files
if you mean that you replaced the obelisk in the game files and it doesn't show when you launch the game with smapi, it could be that some other mod is modifying the same asset
if it won't load when you use SMAPI, then another mod is changing it
and overriding your changes

Hello, so I'm having a problem regarding to the crops/saplings mod. I've been using Fruits and Veggies and Bonster's Crops for a long time but now I can't find them at Pierre's store.

@prime tapir jasper has options to disable the cave and other stuff as well in its config.json
i dont know how to do that and i already deleted the cave
and a error just popped up for the things i deleted
it said he file as non existent
the config file is in the [CP] Jasper NPC folder, you can edit it with any text editor

If it's set to false it probably won't load the asset at all and won't throw error. If it does and it bothers you ,you can always put it back in

Dark skull cavern, Hot spring fam cave, Cuter cellar, yknow things that don't do much for gameplay, but have great aesthetic value
im looking to add TONS of mods... i have 148, a good bulk of them are late game content like automate, a few retextures, i added the surf competition, beach farm, beach town, balloon ride just to name a few

@dire fractal If you go through the log itself you could see the missing dependency as well as mods that need update (as it no longer compatible)

Redoing manual is worth a try - if nothing else, it gives a chance to clean up old mods/errors, and managers add a layer of abstraction that can make it hard to tell where the source of a problem is π

@dire fractal I think it will leave alone all mods that are currently "enabled" (have copies in your mods folder) but I'm not entirely sure
You mentioned not having modded in a long time - did you have some of these mods already and updated them through Vortex, by chance? Although I suppose they would be broken then, instead of just looking in the wrong place for a library.

It might be a bug, then. I'll have to test it out and see, but if you're adding more shops and items, you might consider investing in adding yet another dependency for STF anyway, as it's a dedicated shop framework that's more fully featured π

It seems easier to just remove all the PPJA related stuff to clear it out and then install again from the download so it's all packaged correctly.
garden village changed the seed transfer to be automatic recently so if you updated it that would explain it

You can buy them at the Garden Village shops. A recent update to Garden Village make them move over automatically to declutter Pierre's.

Mod says I own 132 casks. But the only ones I/we got are the default ones in my cellar and those in the cellar of my (1) farmhand. Never crafted any. So should be 66.

Never modded it. Farmhand is vanilla, so I only use UI things like the lookup.
The savefile has data for 1 house cellar and 3 farmhand cellars, each with 33 casks in

Did you explore everywhere? Try heading west from the beach, there should be a couple new places, a winery and another farm

Another new save will be best if you want all the right bushes and stuff to spawn for the SVE maps
(if you've already played a while on a save there are workarounds, but if you don't really have much progress to lose a new one is best)
thing I don't like about smapi starts is you can't do shift tab to bring up the ingame walk throughs for the gifts

Hello all! I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a bug. I've never came across this bug before in vanilla, so I figured it has something to do with mods. For some reason, my pet (cat) keeps getting reset. I originally accepted the cat from Marnie, and have frequently been getting the same event that occurs when Marnie first brings the pet to you. I'm around 5th of fall right now, and I came back from a long day out in the desert to Marnie being on my farm at almost 12 a.m., asking me if I wanted to adopt the cat. This has happened MANY many times since the first original event and I am so confused as to what's happening. If you would like to see my modlist I can type it up real quick.

@dire fractal you're just missing one of the prereqs for SVE
- Stardew Valley Expanded 1.10.14 because it requires mods which aren't installed (Esca.FarmTypeManager).
- Stardew Valley Expanded Forage Locations 1.10.14 because it requires mods which aren't installed (Esca.FarmTypeManager).
Install Farm Type Manager and see if that fixes things

Save Anywhere is incompatible with a whole bunch of mods, because it bypasses the normal game saving events that many mods require in order to clean up their data for the save file.

I think that particular crash will be fixed by updating PyTK, but you should really do all the updates it says you can do at the top.

I have my main pc... that's what I have used for SDV... I started modding in June and was/am using Vortex. I've had problems on and off that I've mostly corrected with help from mod makers, and you guys. Anyway, I also have a Surface 7 Pro that I'd like to play on. A couple of you have said that Vortex might cause problems, so I decided to do it all manually, on the Surface Pro.........
I'm in the process of doing that and troubleshooting as I go. All is good, so far. My question is...

When I'm done... can I delete everything (except saves, of course) from my main pc and transfer my mods folder from the Surface Pro with a flash drive, and all go well?

ah, so the game files are stored in a . xnb file format, and xnb mods are mods where you overwrite the original files
if you're moving mods to a fresh copy of sdv then there's no need to check
you won't have them
if it installs into the Mods folder, you should be okay. XNBs generally instruct you to drop them into the Content folder somewhere (i.e. where the game files are)

and if you put an XNB mod in the Mods folder, it won't load and you'll get a helpful error message π

Question: When updating SVE, it says to fully uninstall previous SVE versions. That means delete all folders saying SVE and not including the Immersive Farm Remastered 2 folders right?

@rigid hatch you only need to do that if you're updating from v1.9.6 or earlier to a newer version. If you already have 1.10.X no need to uninstall anything first

If you are updating from version 1.9.6 or earlier, it's probably best to be thorough and uninstall all of SVE & IF2R and install fresh - just because there are so many folders and components for each.
So a safe bet is each time it updates is to uninstall and reinstall?

I'd say that's a lot of unnecessary work personally. Reinstalling will also wipe your config settings unless you save them and move them over yourself

Hi all... quick question... What happens if I have multiple map mods that use the same vanilla map? I'm assuming if I have, for instance, two maps that use the Forest Vanilla map, and have two saves using each of the different map mods, there might be a problem? Or, does a file change when the current save is saved, signifying which map mod was chosen? Ack.. I did say quick. :/

Depends how they are changing the map
If both of them are Loading in a new version of the file, both will fail entirely
Only two mods in your whole Mods folder can load the same map, so if more than one tries to do that, none of them will load. THey can all make changes via edits to the same map as long as they don't edit the same parts though (or even then, but the last one to apply will win)
(Fail to change the map I mean. With error messages)

You can also just temporarily disable one folder by renaming it to start with .., if it's just one or two mods.
(Technically you only need one ., but some versions of Windows don't let you do that, so I just always include two for examples :P )
Part of my problem is that I LOVE to start new saves with new maps and now don't remember what is where. LOL

Idea: put your farm map mods inside folders named after your farm
So inside ..Waterfall Farm/ folder have FishingFarmMapMod/ or whatever folder for the farm replacement you used for the save file with that farm name
Then remove the .. from the folder for the save you want to play on before launching the game
If farm maps are the only usual conflict you have between different save files, and you otherwise play with the same mods, it should work great

Though if it were me I might also throw in a couple aesthetic mods to each, like if I was using Japanese Buildings mod just for the Waterfall Farm save
That could easily get out of hand though if you started to have too many save files and different mod choices used for each π
My other issue would be playing on two different computers. But, I've been working for hours, now, getting one straight so that I can just transfer the mods folder via flash drive to the other. That way, all is the same.

The majority of mods do work on Android. Some will have info about this in the description or comments, others you can just try and see.
SVE works fine on android. PPJA mods should as well.

@granite wagon try uninstalling quest framework, the error you're getting is with a quest
i'm not sure how the content pack structure works for that mod or what you have that requires it, so whatever mod has it as a dependency may not load, but either that pack or the framework itself is stalling out when you complete the "plant and harvest a parsnip" quest

Like... if you are hired by a company and are given an access to that company's Google Play dev account, the entire company could then get banned too.

Iβm pretty sure the temple and bus mod is outdated and Sundrop city isnβt compatible with sve, something replaces the sve cinders app forest and I just assumed in was shoukoβs house so I deleted her

I'm not 100% sure this is true (haven't investigated it that much) but:
I found an interesting... feature... with the automate-mod. I put an automated furnace next to a salmonberry-blackberry bush and it appears to be putting berries into that chest. It probably does that in-season too, but definitely out of season as well. Puts only 1 berry at a time though.

@toxic pond depends entirely on the chanceForExtraCrops value. Looking at the math, I don't think maxHarvest is effectively even used.

What happens when you try to launch Stardew from Steam?
I have just installed SVE and all the required mods, started a fresh save on a standard farm, and I've been having a few issues.
First : when I enter the cave on the farm, and come out, the camera switches to the South-east area of the farm (where Robin shows you the repaired bridge in the intro, though I can't see the bridge?). I cannot see my farmer, but I can hear them move if I press the usual keys.
There's also a couple more less game-breaking bugs : the pet house doesn't appear, it's just a bowl within a black square; the greenhouse is just dirt squares I can't walk on.
I have deactivated the other mods I was using (SkullCave Elevator and NPC Map Locations), but it doesn't seem to change anything. Can anyone help? This mod sounds great!

We don't condone mod packs + an 800+ mod folder is a few GB. Some users have lists compiled of what they use.

I know for sure my current load out is 391 mods, but I also merged a bunch of dialog mods to just be on the same content.json (Skyrim had me worried about load order and # of plug-ins, harhar), so in reality I have over 400 mods now π³
also, I believe ModDrop has a way to do modpacks (without controversy), so check that out o.o

That looks like you tried to install an XNB mod. Those want to overwrite files in the game's Content folder (which isn't recommended for a variety of reasons), instead of being installed in Mods.
You can check this list https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Using_XNB_mods#Alternatives_using_Content_Patcher to see if there's a Content Patcher version available.

I don't know if there's a guide yet, but basically, you'd want to go through all the dialog mods you're trying to merge, and check that they don't have dialog for the same condition for the same NPC. For example, both mods don't give Shane dialog on summer_4. If they do, you can:
- change the condition for one of them, referring to this site, so you can see both lines https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Dialogue
- pick which line you like best, and comment out the dialog line you don't like by adding
//at the beginning - accept that 1 will load and the other one won't. Which mod "wins" depends on load order, which is alphabetical. Whichever mod loads last (Z will load after A, for example), "wins", and that's the dialog you'll see.
-you could also get fancy with it and add a dependency, to change the load order so it doesn't strictly follow the alphabetical order.

A lot of times it's not even necessary to merge them, since not all dialogue mods touch the same keys. You can safely use several of these that overlap, and the last one that loads is just what will win in a fight.
Right, that's why I said check if they do affect the same key o.o although I called it conditions 
You could also just make a tweak pack that uses all the others as a dependency and just makes edits to certain overlapping lines.
(so that you can still update the originals and such without completely fucking your merge π )

It depends on the mods you're adding. Gameplay mods are probably compatible, new content like crops and such probably compatible. Custom NPCs that don't include any map edits, most likely compatible but depends. Custom NPCs that include edits to vanilla maps, might be compatible, probably needs patch, check mod page to see if they've already noted it. Complete overhauls of vanilla maps, very unlikely to be compatible and probably never will be, don't bother asking.
