That sounds like a recipe for not working tbh, unless the mod authors have specifically accounted for each other
it's compatible with base sve but it's a little iffy for Immersive farm 2 remastered... it still works but i got no clip mod so i wont be stuck in a fence
If they both make small edits, or if one makes smaller edits and goes after the other one, it could still work

I don't remember the specifics but you may want the noclip mod - I think there was some cutscene with that combination that gets you stuck without it. That or catfe and something else.

There is an incident in catfe that you can get stuck in an event in the archaeology house and cannot skip it.
So some pl cannot enter the museum again without crashing the game. Alas the creator is AWOL. No clip mode is advisable or you can edit the file to include "skippable" which should be in any event where chars move!

I can't think of a single mod that you can't add mid-game, but some mods require you to take special steps when adding to an existing game, so always read the description on the mod @worldly dune
usually it's just things like needing to reset bushes, or your crops might end up somewhere unreachable if you change farm maps, etc

yeah farm maps are the biggest issue, but nothing Reset Terrain, a trip to robin's and some no-clipping cant solve

@outer turret for first: NPC Adventures is not follower NPC framework, its standalone mod with their custom story and things. Support for 3rd party companies is side-feature. For me is primary roadmap, "commission" work is only via PRs or I impelent it when I have plate hole in development. I plan support companion events, but idk if I want to controll conpanion dialogues with events and make dialogue conditions. Current dialogue system is too much complex and I optimized it in one of previous releases, because dialogue lookup was realy slow. I am not sure if is there space for play with this kind of stuff. It's not in roadmap, it's commission work and unplanned. Maybe it will be implemented in future, maybe not. If someone wants ASAP comission features, then NA's GitHub are open for PRs.

@molten rivet So you need the Farm section under the PossibleFish section from the fish.json in the optional file from Farm Extended, copy-paste that section to the fish.json file in the TehFishing mod. That's basically it. However, it's a big section, which is why I mentioned using the ActiveCompare feature in Notepad++ and include the line #s, because it's lines 4-560

That's fine Purrpling! Less work for me anyway. It would make a nice framework though, but I totally get the restrictions. Because my chars change too much throughout their story arcs I don't think it will work with them. Maybe Juliet, but she has a job so shouldn't be dragged away from it! (Although I'm sure she'd enjoy that)

@outer turret your chars are probably too mich complex for these thing amd missin of NA is different than mission of your NPCs. I am not sure if there makes solid companion framework for NA. For do it it's required split NA to framework part and to storypart. But it's really complex and time-difficult operation from the developer view. NA was not designed as framework, but as standalone mod. Currently I don't develop nothing, because I need time without programming, I am depleted of my work.
But I already have a fish.json from the other file

Thanks Purppling. That's fine! I can understand being depleted and we creators can be demanding. If you ever implement it in the future I will be excited but for now I shall enjoy the npc companions that I do have! It's a nice mod.
yeah but you need to copy the farm section of the compatibility file to teh's fish.json file
There's only 1 section from the optional file provided by this mod that you need, and that is the "Farm" section under "PossibleFish" at the top. In Teh's Fishing Overhaul, by default, this section is blank. You need to copy this section from the optional fish.json file from Farm Extended, and paste that into Teh's Fishing Overhaul fish.json file.
You can ask another blacksmith to implement it and if they send me PR, I check it and merge. But for this time I am not able to code anything. I am sick of thought about coding. ๐

Yeah, I have the tractor, and it does help, but right now I'm trying to figure out what speed to give it to match the horse's speed.

I compensated by getting a greenhouse larger than my entire farm and harvesting that with the tractor XD

And I still have the Kitchen and Bulletin Board to do, with the Kitchen probably not getting done until summer (I need a green bean and 5 gold-quality parsnips and melons) and the Bulletin Board probably won't get done until I get a duck to drop duck feathers, get a pig to find truffles, plant an apple tree in the greenhouse when that gets fixed up, and who knows where I'm going to find the Nautilus Shell.

Hello all! I'm new to the world of modding stardew, just booted up for the second time and I had some problems with my json. I'm running the validator but I'm not sure how to fix the problem. Can anyone help me out?
Nautilus shell is a drop on the beach in winter. Pretty common, and if you have the deluxe autograbber set to harvest globally it'll just show up in there for you

@broken frost I think the reason that tractor speed defaults to -2 is because the tractor mount is actually a reskinned "horse" from the game code. Horses boost speed +2, so setting a -2 on the tractor just puts it back to normal walking speed.

Yeah, I know I've seen it too, but I don't remember what it means. I think it has something to do with spouse gifts? See what happens when you reach your birthday in the game and are married. If you get a big crash then you'll know it's a problem ๐ If not it's probably ok

What I could see of your log said you had everything installed and it was working correctly, so unless something changed since you made the last log and now, I'm not really sure what it could be. It might be helpful to have a log of the crash you just had too, that might tell the more experienced troubleshooters a little more

Hmm, that's weird. It kinda looks like the game is trying to run without SMAPI, which I guess would make sense if you didn't go through the regular download process and used something else that didn't link SMAPI to Steam
Yeah, with mod managers I am a little lost. I bet someone knows exactly how to do this and it's not me. I could walk you through redownloading everything and putting it all in by hand, which would probably work, but would take some time and you would probably need to delete the mod manager. So maybe give it a few minutes and see if anyone more knowledgeable pops in and bump your question
also i figured out how to add clothes to get glam... it's separate from the main file so you only need to add a pack to the mods folder
i feel sorta dumb now xD
Thank you for your patience Azuremia, looks like IFR2 removed the pet house from the backyard, but it doesn't look like you have a furniture mod that would be messing with the tile sheet. Do you use any XNB mods? They would have gone into your Stardew Valley > Content folder instead of Stardew Valley > Mods folder
Hmm, I'm not sure what's causing your pet area to have a tv and a couch then 
You could try resetting your game files, if you'd used any XNB mods

There's also a reset terrain features (mod?) to force static stuff back onto maps, but that'll also blow up a lot of other map stuff I think. Not really sure what all it uh... resets.

that doesn't work with custom music and GMCM tho
when i try to delete both it gives me a huge list of errors
You can, but you'll need to do extra steps in order to make sure you don't have buildings / items in the void, or not properly lined up.
You'll need to grab Reset Terrain Features and Noclip Mode to set you up.
Then, before you install the new map, you'll need to remove all machines / chests / etc. on your map, you can store them in a chest, preferably inside your farmhouse or barns /coops / sheds.
Then, go to Robin and move any buildings you have as close to the farmhouse as possible.
Then add the new map mod, and you'll spend some time moving everything to a proper place. You can use Reset Terrain Features to reset the bushes, trees, and other debris. Noclip mode will help you reach any things that ended up in the void or an invalid tile.

For now, remove your GMCM folder and replace it with the older version 1.1 found here under "old files". This will fix the problem.

lara Just in case... for BFAV you need the unofficial update and you don't need to edit anything anymore, you can just drag and drop things into your mod folder. Unless they're old, in which case you can update them yourself... XD
Because if you don't have anything you need to use IF2R for, you can just remove that mod and SVE will still work fine
(If I misunderstood and you actually want to switch to standard farm to use IF2R map, then yeah it should be an easy switch with farm map change + Reset Terrain Features mod and NoClip mod to tidy up)
It threw me a lot trying to figure it out because some old mods had such detailed install instructions, so just wanted to make that clear

I had too uninstall the old nexus mod manager just to update to Vortex
i was using vortex as well but just switched to manual install
It works quite well for more complex mod systems that require a lot of heavy handed bludgeoning capability.

As far as I'm aware though, Stardew is a fairly small community for nexus (comparatively), also newer, and spread across many more sites. Vortex can cause some issues due to redeploying data on top of files you've already edited (as I understand it).
Works fine for some people. Not so well for others.
I had way better luck running manual on my 500+

especially since mods that get unofficial updates on new patches of smapi etc aren't hosted on nexus always

Oh, no, ChestEx hasn't been updated to be more compatible with Automate yet (the issue is on ChestEx's end)

you can install Fresh Meat to see if that helps, if not, try removing Quality Machines (for CFR) and see if that works
Custom Music mod makes edits to the GMCM code that broke things when GMCM updated to 1.2.0.
For now, remove your GMCM folder and replace it with the older version 1.1 found here under "old files". This will fix the problem.

I think I see the mod i have that has XNB files in it. its in my mods folder. could that be causing issues. I deleted it and am trying the game again
If it was using Content Patcher (CP) to load it, that's actually ok. It's more the mods that are going into the Stardew Valley > Content folder that are directly replacing game files

If you haven't tried yet, go into your FarmTypeManager mod folder and open the config.json file there. Change the MonsterLimitPerLocation from
nullto200. See if that helps any. If not, change it again to50and finally to10. (If still no change, this is not the issue, and you can put it back to200ornull)
It should be fine, you might have to configure a setting in FTM to put limits on the number of monsters spawning at once.
Try it first to see, and if there's lag go into the Farm Type Manager config.json file and change MonsterSpawnLimitPerLocation fromnullto200or so.
If you've still got problems, try100, then50. (If you go all the way down to10and still lag, then it's probably not the source of the problem and you might be out of luck for running SVE)

@olive merlin the reset game files will fix all game content files that have been modified. You'll have to reinstall any other mods you want to use that change them
(But better yet, don't use XNB mods at all, always use content patcher conversions)
If you really, really insist on using XNB mods, keep your own backups of all original game files so you can easily revert individual files if needed... or something.

It isn't getting loaded. There's something wrong in the format field
and/or structure of the content.json itself. Unless you were wanting to really dig into CP modding to learn how to try and fix it yourself, you're probably better off posting on the page to let the mod author know and waiting for a fix

Someone once nested a mod so many subfolders deep smapi crashed due to an os limitation on filepath size

Those mods probably have typoes in their manifest
So you can double check you have all the updates, and if you do, the version # just hasn't been updated in the manifest.json, that happens

and there's no SaveGameInfo
is it simply throwing a hissy fit because it can't find any saves?

Every PlayerName_437432687 save file needs to keep its SaveGameInfo file to match, both stored inside the save folder called PlayerName_437432687

If it finds a PlayerName_232715372 file somewhere, it will try to find the SaveGameInfo file for it, and freaks out if it can't
I wish, but if the game is worried, you're almost certainly having a bad time

If you delete saves while you have the game and steam open it'll delete them from the sync
Question. Should I go back to vanilla? The recolor I want to use isn't compatible with Stardew Valley Reimagined 2 and I don't want to go through the hassle of editing tilesheets. And if I was to use any other recolors, they wouldn't be compatible with Novan's Seasonal Grass Path, due to the fixed version only using vanilla grass.

I've never heard of the seasonal grass mod so idk
Daisy's stuff is automatically compatible with pretty much all recolors
In the end the "compatibility" is visual. You can check to see how badly the grass conflicts
Hey Lenne? Regarding your mod list and Trent's New Animals; should the Custom Cask Mod be added to the frameworks section? I found it while checking the requirements-
My list isn't all-inclusive, just the stuff I've used. Trentโs New Animals has an optional CCM patch, which I don't use 
And of course, you should always check the mod requirements from their page to be sure you have them all ๐

The seasonal grass path seems to be compatible with Starblue and the tilesheets mod, but what should I disable in that mod so it's compatible with other visual edits such as: SFR - Foliage Only, CP building mods, and item-changing CP mods? I know Starblue edits a lot of things.

What conflicts visually is gonna be pretty subjective. If there's any overlap it's up to you to figure out which one you want

Mod Updater should update some of them (mods that support it) like PyTK, TMXL, and some other things. Other ones will have to be updated manually.

Hello! I recently downloaded the mod Auto Resources. I created the clay drill and was given fiber as an output of the machine instead. When I asked about it I was told that it was a mistake and I could temporarily change the ID in the producer rules (from 771 to 382) until the next update. I did just that and when I loaded my save up I was presented with an error and I'm not sure exactly what I did wrong, considering I only changed the item ID. Could someone take a look and see if there's anything I could do to fix it? Or see what I did wrong? @grim rose Custom Music mod makes edits to the GMCM code that broke things when GMCM updated to 1.2.0.
For now, remove your GMCM folder and replace it with the older version 1.1 found here under "old files". This will fix the problem.

After downgrading, just ignore the GMCM update alert in your log for now.
But keep an eye out for a Custom Music update! When that comes out, you'll finally be able to update both mods to their newest versions without issue. (Yay, new features!)

Hi, so I'm wondering if anyone can help me solve my problem. I'm getting an error on several mods because some mods contain duplicate files and I'm wondering how to delete the duplicate files without deleting the entire mod? I have a screenshot attached for reference.
Those errors mean the entire mods are duplicated, not just files within them. Each error lists the two folders that are duplicated, so you can just delete one of them.
Looks like it's because you installed the PPJA mega pack (which is a collection of a bunch of mods) but then also installed individual copies of mods already included in the megapack

Steam isn't opening up Stardew Valley with SMAPI for some reason. Is it okay to reinstall the same version so I can grab the code to make it do that again?

@rare mauve yup. Your choice which to delete. The megapack is more convenient, but it updates less frequently. The individual mods are updated more often, but you'd need to update them all separately when you do

Should I delete Tanpoponoko's Custom Map Elements for TMX Loader? Some of them work, (of course it's the ones I don't like), but some don't, and some have slight texture bugs. And I have no experience with Tiled/TMXLoader so I can't fix them myself.

Hey everyone! I'm new to using mods on Stardew Valley. I downloaded quite a few that I thought were compatible based on their descriptions (around 55) and I'm experiencing crashing when I try to sleep. The game will crash consistently before the end of night animation begins, and when I reload the game I'm often in another location, sometimes with data missing (usually my rings disappear or I forget I met a villager)
