If you want to have better organization you can create sub folders. Like Cheats, Reskins, Additional content, Ect ect

so im in a new multiplayer with some friends and we have a bunch of mods, but the items in the store and crafting recipes are only showing up for one of us and not me and the other. we double checked we all have the same mods on the same versions, does anyone know what could be causing this? we arenn't using any xnb's.

Yeah mods that add menus or new UIs are often poorly-suited for Android, unless the mod author has specifically tested for Android use

I edited it but it won't let me over write the file
Open the smapi application and use the left side menu bar, clicking Config. Then find the mod in the list and click the "clipboard" like button under the "disable/delete" circle. That will open the config file within Smapi
otherwise you can open the file up individually as a text file but either way you need to save the file and then run SDV through Smapi

You're talking about not being able to overwrite a config file with your edit, right?

Unless you're making edits within the console from inside your game, yes.
But even then not all mods will update ingame changes you make in the config always. Most will need you to restart your game.
I would also run the game after making an edit via the in-app play launcher inside Smapli to be on the safe side to make sure it loads all recently edited and saved configs.

you can prepare an existing save
the instructions are here
if you open your previous save with sve installed, the changes made by sve will also show up. but as long as you don't save, it won't really affect your previous save file
and yes, it's highly recommend to start sve with a new save because you'll be missing out on content if you already have high heart levels with villagers, unlocked certain events etc
So.. I need to cut my main stardew valley from steam folder. Redownload it, and download SVE with all additional modifications. When i want to play Stardew i open the first folder, when SVE, second folder. Right?

you can create two Mods folder
one with SVE and one with your current mods
you just have to switch folders when playing in different saves

The app I use cannot override or smth so it makes json files a little buggy ingame.

er yeah that's not a probably good idea to delete the smapi installer app. it also alerts you to updates when there's a new version of smapi android available.
Yeah I try to replace the UI info suite functions piece by piece. Billboard Anywhere, Level Up Notifications, Daily Tasks Report (buggy with zoom level graphics but otherwise works well), NPC Map Locations... and LookupAnything for checking my heart levels or skill points

@fair vessel hi, idk if you're on, but Jio#3259 is having issues with Reset Terrain Features on Android, the menu is not aligned properly (they included a screenshot). I think I remember you helped someone fix this before, but I couldn't find the message in the chat. Can you see if you can help?
i've used that mod before on android, you have to adjust your zoom to make it show properly. just try to find the right balance

yeah, that's just how it goes for some mods to show up properly in android like pelican fiber and what are you missing. i just zoom in and out several times to make them show properly on my screen

yup, but it's not really that hard. i mean yeah it can be inconvenient, but it's super quick to zoom in and out in the mobile version compared to pc

No, those are 2 different mods o: ship anything lets you put anything in the shipping bin, including furniture, weapons, shoes, etc. Ship anywhere lets you access the shipping bin anywhere with a hotkey

See I didn't even know that the huts existed until I accidentally saw them in pelican fiber, but I've never used them o.o
you can't construct them until you complete the wizard quest, which is a looong way for me with my current save file because i dunno what compelled me to use minerva's cc bundles on hard mode

Yeaaa that's why I got the Community Center Bundle Overhaul mod that is less difficult but still challenging on 1 save. I haven't finished it there though
You have some there, but it looks like you're missing Json Assets, which most custom crop mods need. Json Assets also requires SpaceCore

Json Assets is a mod, as is SpaceCore. You need both for custom crop mods to work

@dire fractal ok, looks like the issue is with your config. The error log provided a link for info on what key bindings you can use, http://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Key_bindings
Some mods let you edit key bindings, which are controller/keyboard/mouse buttons which do something in-game. This page explains how to configure them. (This works for any mod using SMAPI's standard APIs.)
Also I noticed you have the same hotkey for 2 different functions, you'll need 2 different hotkeys there 
That one is because you don't have Mail Framework Mod (MFM) installed. It provides a link to it in the error log
You need MFM to get letters with recipes, seeds, etc. from that custom crops mod

Hello, first time mod user and first time playing SDV on PC specifically. So I have been downloading mods to change the sprites and portraits. Based on GameSharx's How To vid the files should be .xnb but many of them are .rar instead. Do I need to convert these to .xnb?

@minor flame oh no, not XNB mods! Lol you can search for Content Patcher (CP) alternatives here https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Using_XNB_mods The zip files are in rar format, you'd have to uncompress them first. I personally use 7zip to unzip / uncompress files

but someone helped them create a CP version, which was included as a possible download

Ah. You would have to use different mod groups.
You can keep your old farm the same, but for that you would have to run the game without SVE whenever you wanted to play on your old save

If your old farm is an unmodded playthrough it's even easier - you can just run the vanilla game with no mods when you want to play it

Wow there's so many new crops
It will change the farm map, so some bushes might be in weird places or objects might be inaccessible (on water etc).
You can fix these issues with a combination of NoClip mod and Reset Terrain Features mod to get things set up.

On fatefull, day, it was spring, the poor golden quality orange tree got pounced on by the evil meteorite, it killed it in cold blood
Meteorites from the vanilla game event can totally squish crops unfortunately... it's only the ones spawned by FTM that politely avoid doing so
They can also crash into tea leaves >_>

It's nice to have the option! I hope Draylon does a little smapi bit for meteor farm one day that makes meteor showers happen periodically and squish crops lol. The danger has a certain excitement

No error messes, simply just won't let me
I can click and hold on it to pick the up in stacks then put them in the bin, but I can't just tap drag the whole stack in like I usually can

One of my favorite mod pairs is Seeds are Rare and Better Mixed seeds
Makes it so you have to grind your own seeds from the crops you grew with mixed seeds
Extends the game life quite a bit

Ah, yea that just means compatible with latest SMAPI and game version, it doesn't specify the platform (windows, Mac, linux, or android)
ah. Some of the mods listed there have additional notes about android compatibility. For instance "Ui Info Suite" says "Broken on Android"

ChestEx and Chests Anywhere are not entirely compatible, which is why in my mod list, I listed it as use ChestEx OR Chests Anywhere + Colorful Chests. There's a post by the mod author in the ChestEx comments section with an explanation of why, something about buttons that got moved around.

I've mentioned twice now that they're not entirely compatible lol if you want to dig through the comments section to see the mod author's explanation, you can, but the incompatibility, from what I vaguely remember, is not something that's easily fixed, like it's not something you can tweak config files for. Well, I got the Korea Blossom mod but I can't plant most of the seeds in summer that says to plant in summer. It says out of season lol

yea like farmer to florist has these pots of flowers you can craft that say they need to be watered in the description, but I've been told several people make them and the flowers in the pots don't actually need watering o.o

that can be an issue, though I don't know about JA mods specifically
(most C# text comparisons are case-sensitive by default, so it depends on the framework code)
ah, that does seem to be it:
Seasons must be in lowercase and in quotation marks, so if you want to make your crop last all year, you'd put in "spring", "summer", "fall", "winter".

Sadly, looks like ACC doesn't have a config file.
And SDVE's doesn't include maps
right, SVE wants to keep its map edits. SO, if you're intent on keeping both, your other option is to go rogue π you can comment out the map edits for the ACC mod. The characters won't be there at the festival, but at least you'll still see the SVE festival map edits

@fallen ferry, I know only a few people use it, some say it works fine, for others, it causes problems. I personally manually install mods for Stardew Valley to avoid the middleman there (although I definitely use mod managers for other games, like Skyrim and the Fallout games)

@gleaming kestrel does the ACC mod provide specific instructions on how to do it? Although I'd take a careful look at the last update date and compare it to SVE.
If the ACC mod doesn't provide anything specific, then yes, you could replace the SVE files. I'd make a note for yourself about it though, in the top SVE folder, saying "Merged with ACC" so you don't forget you've done this, and the next time you update SVE, you remember
@obsidian beacon iI don't think so, because the farm itself is impassable by NPCs. I think I've only ever heard of NPCs being in your house if they're your spouse or your roommate
They don't, no. Unfortunately the mod maker of ACC hasn't even addressed that there's an issue yet. :(
In particular, the "compatibility patch" that turns the SDE NPCs into anthros hasn't been updated since 2019 so I'm thinking there won't be a fix or workaround.
So yeah, right now I'm just manually replacing all the SDE NPC assets. We'll see if it works. :P
Ah. I recommend you leave a comment on their mod page to let them know the issue exists, and the way you ultimately figure out to fix it, so that the mod author can recommend it. If the mod author doesn't respond, at least, other people checking the mod comments can follow your steps

WAIT ACTUALLY POCKETFOX, maybe it's because you have multiple other maps in there besides flashshifter (SVE). Try getting rid of 1 of the flashshifter ones (since you have 2), and get rid of the minervamaga, and see if it works

I actually replaced all the map files in the default folder with the Eemie ones, and that son of a gun of a mod still loaded the vanilla map, with the lil NPC heads I:

ohhhhh I think I got it, it might be my custom farm map mod!
AHA, that's what it was!!! Farm Extended provides a custom menu map to reflect the new map, and it was overriding the Eemie recolor for NPC Map Locations. Commenting out the menu map edits in Farm Extended fixed it 
so glad that mystery's solved, off to sleep in peace

custom music and npc fixes do things, they are not just parts of sve they are mods on their own and i think sve bundles forks of them?

@junior musk "Stardew Valley Expanded" (without brackets) is one you will still have to disable. NPCFixes is fine to leave, Custom Music fine as well. Seasonal Villager Outfits is also fine to leave in, that one only affects Vanilla characters (unlike the Seasonal Outfits SVE pack)

SMAPI creates a log whenever it is ran. If your SMAPI isn't generating them, I recommend reinstalling SMAPI. There isn't much help we can provide without a log since the log tells more detail.

most likely the producerRules.json file is not capitalized. android is case sensitive. go to the respective pfm folder of said mods with pfm warnings, change the capitalization e.g. producerrules.json to ProducerRules.json

@fair vessel I did that. And that's what resulted in the error message
ok i think it depends on your file manager. i use google's file manager to rename the files, no need for a json editor. with google's file manager, it will automatically rename to ProducerRules(1).json even if i didn't add the (1) because the file manager for some reason recognizes it as a duplicate of something.
so what jonqora suggests is that you rename it to another file name temporarily then rename it again to ProducerRules.json
I did that. Thats why I just said. It resulted in red error messages
can you check your files again to see if it properly shows ProduceRules.json in the file name? if you were able to rename it properly it shouldn't throw off errors in the log
not sure too, maybe try another file manager app or something to edit the file name again

Depends on the mod. If the mod has image files you can just edit those directly, or swap them out with files of the same size and name with no problems
If the mod edits other content stuff like dialogue or crop data, you can change that text directly too, it's often in a content.json file
If it's a smapi mod, then editing it is harder, you may need to grab the code if it's open source (or decompile it on your own).

Huh, what platform are you on? I don't have issues with the portraits and I'm on PC. I think I've heard of android users not seeing portraits because the game disables them for certain zoom levels

Dalink, in your new log, you still have those issues for Fruits and Veggies, and More Recipes, so remove and reinstall those. I'd also recommend removing and reinstalling SVE and see if that fixes it

Why cant there be an app to mod games that doesnt need you to break a switch just to mod games
And by break I mean like go into saves and move stuff and also the jailbreak

Yea it goes against Nintendo's terms of service, so we don't recommend it in this server 
It would for sure be cool to be able to mod consoles with more ease and less risk, but since even repairs are nono's for various companies, it seems unlikely that console makers will greenlight modding and homebrew scenes anytime soon π
@sonic fulcrum Could you share their SMAPI log, and yours as well? https://smapi.io/log has instructions for how to do that. (Error messages alone are usually pretty hard to decipher.)

Start by doing it all

Figure out what to prioritize
Make sure you remember everything and are working towards everything aswell, put off the less important things more
And remember
The game is about fun, not speed , and optimally playing

Abe, I personally got bored of constantly getting into a loop of growing fruits to make jelly / wine, and not having enough preserve jars / kegs to make profit fast enough. So instead, I got the mod Farmer to Florist, in which you can make soaps, perfumes, and bouquets (among other things), so my focus is making those, while also on the side, making progress on the CC bundles
I also got rid of every custom crop mod except for the flowers, because it was too much and I had no focus

It works on my main save file, but not on my test save.
Should I only play on one save file? Cause I kinda have plenty...

I don't really remember deleting, but there are some JA mods on my inventory, yes.
Can you use Diverse Stardew Valley with SVO with regular SVO?
DSVO has config options for regular SVO characters, so you wouldn't use both at the same time. I think DSVO is a bit behind SVO feature wise with all the work needed for updates, though. You could technically disable some DSVO characters and make it load after SVO, but since SVO doesn't have per-character configs it probably wouldn't work as you intended

That ones good too. Make sure you check which farm it replaces. Eg riverland, forest ect. Some are configurable. And also are you starting a new save or using a previous one?

Hey all, you technically can use a new farm map on an existing save, you just have some extra steps. This is what I've recommended to other people (and what worked for me when I did it)
Kookiey you can, but you'll need to do extra steps in order to make sure you don't have buildings / items in the void, or not properly lined up.
You'll need to grab Reset Terrain Features and Noclip Mode to set you up.
Then, before you install the new map, you'll need to remove all machines / chests / etc. on your map, you can store them in a chest, preferably inside your farmhouse or barns /coops / sheds.
Then, go to Robin and move any buildings you have as close to the farmhouse as possible.
Then add the new map mod, and you'll spend some time moving everything to a proper place. You can use Reset Terrain Features to reset the bushes, trees, and other debris. Noclip mode will help you reach any things that ended up in the void or like Chronicler said, an invalid tile.

you can check the last update date for the mod, if it was from before Nov 2019, then Jonqora's got it right

hey when i enter the wizard tower in my modded game i cant see myself. I can hear my tools and use energy until i pass out to leave but i cant do anything in the tower

Per the SVE incompatibility list, SVE is not compatible with Karmylla's Immersive Maps https://github.com/FlashShifter/StardewValleyExpanded/wiki/Troubleshooting#incompatible-mods

@patent mason That happens to me sometimes, it's cause the game warps you to the wrong tile, I have a noclip mod installed so I just enab;ed that and walked back on screen

I loaded up a world and changed the date using stardew valley editor but I did this before the mountain had unlocked. Does anyone know how I could do this or if I could change weather its unlocked or not in the config?
