For anyone using a hunger mod: does it make it more fun / more involved to cook o.o?
I have lots of recipes and outside of the achievement (and the few buffed ones), I don't feel compelled to get involved with cooking. I'm wondering if getting a mod that adds hunger would help with that o:
It probably does but when I tried it - I hated it. I guess I'm not the one for added challenge :P Most of the time I was walking at .5x speed

I saw in the mod ideas github that someone is working on a mod to make the community center bundles use PPJA stuff (presumably including the cooking recipes), but that's been in the works for a while.
It'd be cool if one of the quest types for the bulletin board were requesting cooked items, like Abigail wants cookies, Jodi wants some of that crispy bass, etc.
I think Minerva's mod already does that?
We're also working on a quest overhaul to include PPJA stuff but FM2.0 is taking priority since it's what I have time for.

That a my feeling with cooking...it doesnt really add much to the game. I'm thinking a cooking contest would be fun or if there was a cooking skill and you had to complete a minigame to cook.

What if it was centered around a "picnic basket" item with three slots (like fishing rod slots)
You load the picnic basket up with 3 foods, and then gift it to an NPC to invite them on a picnic in cindersap forest. You could probably re-use assets from Leah/Penny(?) heart events.
The time of day would determine which meal it was. (pre 11am breakfast, 11-4pm lunch, after 4pm dinner)
Then you get a cutscene where they comment on the foods according to the points earned and hinting at what factors influenced the scoring, you get friendship points, the end.
(Feel free to paste any of this brainstorming into the GitHub entry)
Factors that could be used to influence the scoring?
• total edibility of all items (needs to be a filling meal)
• at least 2 of 3 items are "cooked" (the third could be e.g. wine or coffee or juice that way without penalty)
• influence of gift preferences for the items
• appropriateness for the meal chosen
• bonuses for pairing certain items together?
• seasonal bonuses?

On the NPC Map Locations nexus downloads page, there are 2 main files. You want the one called NPC Map Locations for Stardew Valley Expanded. So remove the one you had and replace with that one.

@fast drift as far as I can tell, those options need to be exactly true or false, JSON readers are case-sensitive about that
(though on a side note, I just tested my mod and "true", "True", and "TRUE" all got converted into true automatically, so it's alright with quotation marks)

The S.M.A.P.I installer isn't a mod
When you download it you put it somewhere else likewise your desktop then unpack it inside a folder and proceed to run the installation program
not that it matters that it's there (Ghostyy already has a newer SMAPI)
i just installed it wrong by accident and havent deleted it from my mod folder

anything thats been skipped was just installed wrong and i forgot to remove the folders

It would probably be time consuming but try to re-install all your mods.
Keep all of your current mods in a separate folder, and install the newest versions, some may no longer be compatible and need an update, some completely dropped by the author.
And some are just... not mods

Ok so as far as "what changed" your game is the latest version, and lots of mods broke with each game update. So you'll need to update what you can
mods that are not compatible
The error message lists a link to go to, to search for unofficial conversions or alternatives. Check that
Karmylla's Immersive Maps - SVE EDITION 2.6.6 this is likely not compatible with the sve version you have
@random lion if you haven't updated for a year you might not know - SVE installation has changed a lot. It's no longer compatible with Karmylla's Immersive Maps - delete those. Then the best thing to do is completely remove all SVE and IF2R folders (including the NPC folders) and do a fresh reinstall.
Yea you're going to have to carefully read mod descriptions for the installation instructions. I know for SVE you had to delete all the folders and reinstall, like logofe said

There isn't a solid mod manager for Stardew Valley, to my knowledge. Best you can do is run the game, then use log.smapi.io to see the messages for which mods need to be updated. This isn't foolproof, though, because some mods don't have proper update keys for SMAPI to let you know which mods need to be updated. This is where Download History (I use nexus) comes in handy. You can sort based on Date Updated, and compare that to the Date Downloaded

It's going to be a slow process, and you have to be methodical, Raichu. It's a pain, but it happens. Download all the latest versions (or unofficial conversions, or alternatives) for all your mods, as applicable. Be extra careful with how you update SVE, because you have to delete all the old folders for it and its dependencies, and install them fresh (no overwriting). Then, when you run the game, you may still have issues. Use log.smapi.io to see if there's any new messages or errors, and we can go from there

Is getting SVE to work as a newbie pretty much a lost cause? I've got all the mods running, but they don't work when Ioad a previous file or start a new one
I mean, as far as content goes, the consensus is play the game without SVE at first. But if you've installed all the dependencies, and SVE, and it's not working properly, you can post your log and we can try to help

Nope, I had a much older version I installed at this time last year
in that case it's probably best to remove everything that came from SVE at any point and reinstall from scratch
it can be difficult to be sure that the new install is correct otherwise

@earnest needle if you had an old version of SVE it might have needed Karmylla's Immersive Maps. You'll need to uninstall that, too, because they're not compatible with each other anymore.
The Maru error you have is because you have 2 different mods both trying to change Maru's sprites, "Maru Twists" and "No More Bowlegs"
Similarly, you have 2 different mods affecting the farm cave, the slightly more interesting one and ZarKii's
You resolve this by only having 1 mod that affects Maru and 1 mod that affects the farm cave

The shed error, " Shed Replacement - Small Barn Left 1.1.2 because you have multiple copies of this mod installed. Found in folders: Mods[CP] Shed Replacement - Small Barn Left (1.1.2), Mods[CP] Shed Replacement - Small Barn Right (1.1.2)." is telling you that you have 2 folders for the same mod, one says left, one says right. Get rid of one and you'll fix that error

Lastly, the Deep Woods obelisk error, "[DW]SeasonalObelisk 1.0.0 because it requires mods which aren't installed (maxvollmer.deepwoodsmod)." is saying you have the seasonal obelisk mod that modifies the obelisk added by Deep Woods, but you don't have Deep Woods installed. You fix that by installing Deep Woods

2 things: I know it only happens with SVE, but do you have the XNA framework set up properly? second, is there a mod SVE is like SUPER incompatible with that you somehow have?

the one time i installed sve midway through an existing save file in android, it also crashed my game. something root missing, forgot the error. i uninstalled and reinstalled the game and that fixed it somehow
Huh, very interesting! The error has absolutely 0 info on how to resolve it - so I can just give general advice:
- You could try restarting your phone
- You could try uninstalling and reinstalling the mod
- Besides those you could try uninstalling some other mods, it may be a compatibility issue. It's hard to know which you need to uninstall, though
- Besides all that there's nothing to do but not use it
