Question about updating SVE: when updating do i just place the folder(s) into my mods folder and let it overwrite?

I remember once having a similar problem, it disappeared after deleting FHR but I can't remember the details of what was the exact issue and why

I deleted farmhouse redone and this happened so
its because it was giving me an error for a tilesheet or something so I decided to remove it.
i have no clue what that'd have to do with the outside of the house though
The log still shows FHR being there tho? Why is that if you removed it
Oh I probably removed something else relating to the farmhouse. I'll remove it and see if that fixes it
The issue came about when I installed around 70 mods
I think farmhouse redone was one of them but i dont know

It could be it has an extra timesheet that's causing the errir

It may be that it only messes stuff up when it's there but has no mods actually modifying the farmhouse for it

I like the greenhouse area. But it doesn't look like you can plant anything there, so you'd have to fill it with fake plants.

I honestly like the house mod I use. Wish it had more rooms. But because I don't ever want kids, the nursery room is a nice addition. And the bathroom just makes sense.

reinstall them, after you do check for any duplicate files and make sure you dont have any files missing
you can check that by looking at the files you should get in the 'preview file contents' on the nexus page, then cross-checking or smth baha

this is a mod called adopt skin, it allows you to adopt more pets and also that every animal between cow and chicken has a different skin, like you have a chicken coop with 10 chickens all 10 are different from each other

well they will have a new texture
they might be, but you can use the console commands seen in the mod description to change their skins manually to the ones you want if that happens (or randomize skins for a certain animal or group of animals)
I'll look into it. Though I really don't want my current animal sets to be changed.
so you go to the assets file and delete the textures you don't want, like deleting the folder with the chicken textures
yeah. delete the ones you don't want, replace them with the ones you do want, rename all files accordingly eg cat_1.png etc

your problems are that some other mods arent working,,, so i would reccomend deleting them

Hi everyone! I'm having an issue with Map Image Exporter. It tries to render the image of my farm and then gets caught in a loop and never renders. every time it tries to render it will go to a black screen with my furniture still visible (if I'm in the farmhouse), then crashes. Or, goes to black screen if I'm on my farm and crashes.

okay, i think i found the reason for the stutters: the tractor engine sound mod. removing that seems to get rid of the stuttering. i got the tractor just when winter started and also installed the tractor engine sound mod then
i suppose the mod could be checking frequently if it should play the sounds

Update, make sure your mods are the same, and see if that helps. If not, it might have something to do with something that refreshes daily.

the Earthy Recolor shouldn't be either because I am using 2 recolor mods and they're not replacing the map

Yeah, both Reimaged and Expanded changes map layouts and NPC pathing, can't have that.
If you guys aren't using the expansive mod, I'd recommend using Reimagined! Its really awesome! It changes the map so much, more so at the top. Also makes walking around a lot easier.

yep, it doesn't have summer and winter is the default tree instead. I just need to look how I make Flower Valley not replace the 3 trees types and leave eemie's mod do that.

I'm trying to use IFR2 on SVE and it says I need to toggle stuff in the config.json in the CP IFR2 folder. This might be a daft question but how do i open the .json? My laptop says it doesn't have a program for that

Hi everyone, is there an extremely detailed (down to telling us to make a copy of the save file) type of walkthrough for using mods? I've never done something like this and am scared I'll mess it up
I've seen comments where people didn't do that altho they followed a guide and lost their save. So I'd like to be as safe as possible. Thanks for any help! 
Mods are packages of files which change Stardew Valley in some way. Mods can add features (like showing NPCs on the map), change game mechanics (like making fences decay more slowly), make cosmetic changes (like making your house look like a hobbit home), and much more.
That's probably the best guide out there.

If you're worried, you already know what to do, just back-up your save file.

I guess Linus tree house mod isn't compatible with SDVE
Using SVE's option to replace Default/Hardwood fences with the style found around town, which also matches the style of Starblue. Default's are popping up as the winter variant and Hardwood are the new fence type, but default color.

Yeah, generally speaking, most mods won't play well with SVE.

The reason Linus is standing off place is probably due to a pathing error the tree house mod causes.

I wish I had this help playing Starbound. Because I modded the game and uninstalled it, a year later reinstalled it and I lost my entire game that I played on for 3 years, because of the mods. I can never play that game again.
I wish Chucklefish hadn't killed Stardew. I can only imagine what it could become if it had Terraria levels of development.

Anyone else notice that deluxe auto grabber mod doesn’t work with truffles? I know you have to enable it via the config adn I’ve checked my config a couple times to ensure it’s enabled for such, but I can send it here later tonight just to have someone take a second look at it.
I swear I'm spending more time fussing with mods than I am playing. Lol. Trying to get the Adopt 'n Skin mod to play nice with my current pet & horse, but all it's doing is randomizing both among all the different skins. Like, I don't want a chameleon cat and horse!

Yes. I made sure all the naming conventions are correct (ie cat_1, cat_2, horse_1, horse_2, etc). And just to see, I pulled both the previous mods I was using to reskin my cat and horse, to see if that would just settle them onto whatever the default type is, but they're still changing every time I reload the save.
Oh I think I know. The mod's probably does this action the first time it loads. If you just keep loading the save you introduced the file, it'll randomize every time. If you sleep and save with the mod active, it shouldn't do that any more.

Though I....guess there's a way to change them ingame with console commands? Do I just, type the command into Smapi? Or is there a certain formula I need to use to get it to work?
Well, I don't know what constitutes the IDs, but yeah, just type those console commands directly in, and replace everything along with the brackets.
Alright. After alot of red 'you're doing this wrong dummy' text, I at least figured out how to do the commands. I'll have to go and edit the sprite directly to get back the exact horse with saddle that I was using. Bah. And I haven't been able to get the wild horse spawn to work, which I set to 100% chance so that I could see just /how/ it would work.
I have no idea how you people with your 100+ mods do it. Lol.
I think it's mostly very simple mods that add a few pngs.

That's true. The majority of my mods that I've been using are 'stick this folder in your mods folder and tweak the config to your liking'. This is the first more complicated one that I've had to fuss with.

As for this one, someone else was getting it but I can't remember the fix. Try reinstalling SVE.

Reinstalling in this case means delete and reinstall
some mods, like big complicated map mods or JsonAssets packs, reccommend or require deleting the old version and installing the new version as the update process
to avoid detritus from the previous version hanging around and causing errors like that

Hi, I probably fixed it in the 0.12.0 but it's untested and this version is not released. This problem is probably caused by another mod which adds dialogues and clear NPCs dialogue dictionary. I wrote a reload them if dialogues forcompanion was removed, but I haven't tested it, because I couldn't replicate when this issue causes. Be patient and wait for release 0.12.0 to fix.
