i usually dont seem to have issues with npc's i use all of fellowclowns ... and he seems to have people say this or that dont work for them ... i am sitting here like what are you doing different cause i have no issues at all :/
Sometimes people think mods don't work because of compatibility issues, but sometimes it's just they need to update other mods
yea ... sometimes there are small things like a off warp but things like that i can fix on my own as well ... and i do say something to the creator so they can check it ... but the updates that are done is always things that fix issues i haven't even seen ...

Anyone around who's familiar with Paritee's Better Farm Animal Variety? I have an issue with it I can't seem to find a solution for and at this point I"m actually starting to become quite upset.
Basically, it will say it found all my animal add-ons, but then at the tail end of the SMAPI loading log I get this http://puu.sh/FEscA/fd84827676.png
BFAV also seems to have taken the liberty of changing the format setting in its config from 2 to 3, and erasing all the animals from there.
Presently, I have the latest SMAPI and SDV, on windows 10 x64

you don't need to add the animals in the unofficial update
i don't know how compatible it's with the older bfav mods
some place I saw said it tries to convert them to some sort of "new format", idk what that's about, but that" you're probably better off converting them your self". Not that I can tell. It does add the recycler machine meant for the foxes though

I found that its magic-mod compatibility patch is not working, and it seems to me that the incompatibility cannot be fixed in normal way and I am skipping it with NoClip mod; though I guess it's better to share/explain the origin of the incompatibility?

hi all,, im having some issues with portraiture. in particular, with Mr Qi's portrait
none of the Mr Qi's HD pngs i put in the folder seem to show up in-game while all other portraits for other NPCs do show

Hey guys! i went ahead and dowloaded SVE and it seems that there are some XNB files in the folder. Do i need to put those in the content folder? I havent touched them yet but i keep getting errors about maps not being found :> thanks in advance
where did you get SVE ? i may be wrong but was under the impression that you don't need to replace files anymore in current version

so im having a few issues with about three mods, heres my smapi log: https://smapi.io/log/0cc2e64fc56e4e6caf9746079bd3d0bf
two of them have the assets folder for them not typed correctly (seedbag and sailor styles), two of them conflict in content patcher (vintage interface and starblue valley, and tool delivery service just crashes for no reason
yeah, sailor styles has another capitalization errors too iirc, but you can correct them yourself
for starblue and vintage interface, look at the config and see if you can disable the conflicting part
I havent seen a way for the capitalization part in sailorstyles (just causes the other folders to break)
and ill try to look into the content patcher ones
you can copy the folder and change the capitalization on the copy so you have for example assets and Assets in the folder

and i think my content patcher issue was that starblue valley's interface option was enabled

so my recent house expansion has placed a number of chests and machines inside the wall. Is there any way to retrieve them?
you can try the no clip mod but you might just have to uninstall the house mod first, move the chests, save and reinstall the house mod
@dire fractal I closed the bug reports section because I got overwhelmed with non-bug reports. 85% of reports weren't bugs. Players PM me things they find now these days.

I would like to stick a house mod inside the Jungle Temple (exterior) map, but I'm not entirely sure how to do it. Whether to try and add "house type" tiles on the Temple map or somehow merge maps... but I think that merging maps is just for the basic "land" type maps?

it adds more kegs types. Copper/Iron/Gold/Iridium for processing more stuff at once.

Half the time it’s the window stretched out and everything and you can’t read it

I have several mods installed that don't change any items at all, but for some reason, some of the vanilla items have very different textures than they should (the Wilted Bouquet is a Pumpkin and a Rice Sprout is what appears to be a broken Wine Bottle)

@rare quest Dumb question: But is there any way to get krobus translated? I actually kinda liked being able to chat with him, but in one of the more recent updates, he just speaks in gibberish, like the dwarf (who is now just kind of an asshole).
You must unlock the dwarvish translation guide to understand them.
SVE doesn't edit Krobus or the dwarf besides adding events for them.
for some reason xnbcli won't let me pack or unpack files? It tells me i don't have appropriate access permissions even though it says that i'm able to "read and write" in permissions. (i'm on mac)
You need to be able to execute the executables as well
In a terminal, do chmod +x <name of file>
(Or however you'd set that in the access permissions window)

*I'm not making any mods, just installed these recolor/remodel mods on top of SVE. eg starblue's worldmap loaded instead of SVE's and i had to find the config option to disable that. trying to find other conflicts but not sure how
also installed Climates of Ferngill and Seasonal Villager Outfits but since those are listed as recommended for SVE I'm not as worried about conflicts with those
map recolors tend to edit the tilesheets
okay so that last few SVE updates I have just been deleting the old one and replacing it with the new ... even though it states 1.9.6 needs to be removed fully ... so by my understanding i can just rewrite over it as long as i have been keeping it updated?
No, since the format was changed in 1.10 I believe
you need to delete the entire SVE folder before installing a new version
I don't think any formats were changed, but just in case you should uninstall SVE first
i went ahead and deleted the 1.10.5 folders and replaced them just to be safe. but I was in the middle of a fresh install anyway
I have 0 clue why this block is appearing on my character when i try a new game. Just installed a heap of mods for my game after downloading stardew on my new pc. I deleted all mods relating to clothing but it didn't help.

okay ... thats what i normally do .. sadly i will do so and forget to fix the configs ... which don't change if i just over write ... but yea to be safe i will keep deleting and adding new .. thanks 🙂
the only xnb files i remember using is a farm replacer, but i'll try to find a different farm replacer instead and try this. thank you.

I dont think the hat mod affects the character though, just the hat items

I also reccomend updating and making sure all of your mods load, as that could be the issue

Ace's cellars is because it was an alternative file, custom critters was an unofficial update, but its not working so im getting rid of it.
I dont know why the others say they aren't updated but i'll see if i can update them

not sure if this works on mac, but if you put a period at the beginning of the file name, it won't load
there should be a folder called DeactivatedMods in the StardewValley folder

So I just removed the mod folder from the Mods folder
You can make a folder on the same level as Mods, i.e. MyModsNotCurrentlyInUse and put it in there to move it back easily later

Can someone help me fix this? I know it's an issue with my save and FHR, but I don't know what. I can't remove FHR because I've got a couple of mods that depend on it.

the only way I can get my main save to load is if I remove FHR. But then my IF2 warps become messed up

so im gonna get rid of FHR, divorve abigail, reinstall FHR, and see what that does
the reports i got are similar, it happens only to new marriages then, by the logic try not to divorce abi and uninstall fhr, load and save, then reinstall fhr

if not working then try remarry abi without fhr
if it still not working, then the only way left is remarry without SVE but with FHR, after you've married, load SVE back again. but all of your SVE related progress will be refreshed

then you just need to install some seasonal fences with fence recolour toggled off in SVE

Update SVE again. I hot fixed this.
chose the wrong day to start modding this game
installed SVE 30 minutes before a brand new update. reinstalled it. couple hours later another update
for this new hotfix, is overwriting the folders sufficient?
if not would deleting SVE’s folders and replacing them affect an existing save at all?
No, nothing should change if you did it right
Deleting the mod wont affect your save, but you will have to reconfigure anything you changed in the config.json
You just have to nake sure all of your config settings are changed again

i have had bfav animals turning temporarily to vanilla animals, they always reverted back to the correct animals by themselves the next day or something

I haven't seen them revert if I sleep on it, though.
The only way to revert that I've so far seen is reload the game.
And only on the first day I find that they have changed.

Started messing with Content Patcher on mobile, or even trying .xnb edits... everything I do seems to turn off night time inside the house, it all stays at day time light levels. Anyone know if that's normal, or fixable? I like the dark with my fireplaces and lamps at night

@dire fractal I know this works on windows, but I'm not sure about other operating systems. If you click on a link with mouse button 3(the scroller) it will open the link in a new tab for you passively.

is there any way to force an event to play or repeat? I feel like I might have glitched my game a bit. not with mods, but i can't seem to get caroline's sunroom event to play, and I want to plant some tea saplings , can't make them without the event.

@prisma dove Thank you for event repeater. Once Arcane helped me figure out the event id for caroline's sunroom, it was pretty easy to use your mod to forget the event and repeat it.

capitalist dream farm 2 and if2r are incompatible anyway because they both replace the standard farm
recently someone here had a folder structure like Mods/f1/mod, where they had put the mod zip inside the f1 folder and extracted it there and the zip still being there caused smapi to fail to find the mod folder
causing similar manifest not found errors as now
or wait, i think there's another capitalist dream farm version that doesn't replace the standard farm
yeah, it has an mtn version too
if your mods are in a sub floder in /Mods, and there is a compressed file in that subfolder, those mods won't load
so basically make sure you only have extracted mod folders in all of your subfolders
