anyone else using the more new fish mod get a bug with the fishing elixir quest? i started a new file a few weeks ago and caught one of the fish needed in my first year way before you usually get that quest, and happened to talk to willy the same day and for some reason he said good job getting all the ingredients for the elixir even though it was just that one fish and i hadn’t even gotten the quest yet. then i got a new quest to craft the elixir. now i’m in fall year 2 and he showed up and gave the initial quest for the fishing elixir ingredients. not a huge deal as i can just do both quests but just wondering why this happened.
Is anyone familiar with Dreamy Valley? I've been trying to get it through Nexusmods and I can't seem to access the downloaded file because it is "unknown format or damaged", does anyone know if this is a repairable issue or is the mod out of service now?

@young dune basically when you download a mod it starts your game up with the mod. If it’s on unmodded save the mod will be added
The way around in this is mod packs and then make shortcuts to easily start up your different mod packs

Actually don’t do what I previously said (deleted now) instead
Create a modpack for a save that you want modded
So for instance call it SVE Save (or whatever you’s want)
Put all the mods you want into
Then create a shortcut for smapi and reroute it to use that mods folder by following the instructions on the wiki

i don't want crops growing out of season but i do want to place crops outside the farm, but it only allows me to place them outside the farm when all seasons are enabled. config makes it seem like what i want is possible.. is it not?

@dire fractal Unfortunately due to how the mod works (it sets a temporary greenhouse flag on each location), you can't have only in-season crops.

Hey guys wondering if you can help.. I play SDV on a MacBook, mods work fine... but every-time I try and do co op, my game crashes. I’m just wondering how to get two separate files for the game? I have to add mods via the local files within steam (easiest way to mod it), I’m worried if I do a big mod like SVE it won’t save any of the game play as I’ve noticed to play co op I have to scan all the files within steam to allow them to override the mods and it goes back to being vanilla again. Any help?
do you have... any logs of when ur game crashes in co-op?? the most likely problem is that u have mods that others don't or vice versa

Mod groups are good if you want to have 2 shortcuts with different mods, for example one for multiplayer and one for your normal game
I think it was that Oscar about having mods they don’t, my main issue is about trying to get 2 separate files for the game... one modded and one vanilla 🙂 - I’ll check out the getting started though, thanks guys!
You would run the game through the smapi shortcut for your modded version, and run it from steam directly for vanilla version without taking all the mods out. Or, you could do the mod groups and have an empty mods file
there are 2 separate applications for modded sdv
you can run Stardew Valley.exe to not launch SMAPI
while running StardewModdingAPI.exe launches SMAPI
This is my issue. Every time I run it through steam, it still runs with mods.. maybe I gotta re look over some of the mod things lmao. I thought I’d followed the instructions well -.-
Pretty much as every time I use it from steam it still loads the mods..
you just need to change your launch options
replace StardewModdingAPI.exe with Stardew Valley.exe

Two smapi shortcuts, two mod folders just have them both on your desktop and rename them, then launch them like normal
Its really easy to make the extra shortcut that switches folders too

hello noobi and their friends need help if anyone could ;_;
we're trying to start a new file with an expanded map mod, but no matter which farm we select it loads the default farm
we're trying to download "Ace's expanded farms MTN" (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2711) and have downloaded SMAPI 3.41 running sdv 1.4.5, Content Patcher, MTN as required and have moved the mods into the mods folder.
I think the issue is that on startup, SMAPI says you can update 36 mods in purple, then links to the mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2711). but i thought we already have the latest updates D:

sure, but in swapping it just delete the whatever omnifarm you currently have on your computer and re-install it from scratch

For the capitalist farm i talked with the creator and they said that the newer version is more stable but im using the current version since it doesn't replace the standard farm. Im going to test switching to the newer version but I don't want to break the save accidentally

it modifies almost everything about stardew so a lot of things get conflicts with it.

Update the manifest
If you want to use SVE I would take out the mods that mess with characters dialogues, anything that edits a map, and once you do that you might find your errors down to a much more reasonable level.

also note that SVE further edits these things anyway

@pallid lance first fix dynamic night time, I can’t quite see everything on mobile but I recommend you just reinstall (check the smapi compatibility list). Also update your current mods. Run the game again
my only concern about downloading the big shed mod is that it will make the sheds i currently have go wonky

It could mess things up eggplant but I don’t think it will. Although if you want to keep everything fine just remove the stuff from the sheds (freeze time if you want). Also just make sure your saves are backed up like you would when downloading most things

@gray tartan for starters delete conflicting mods or figure out a fix. For example your log says that you have conflicting greenhouse mods. If you are using sve immersive map remastered 2 it already has a new greenhouse which is 225 spaces (214 with perfect aligned iridium sprinklers) and 13 fruit tree spots.
If you want to use a new greenhouse with the immersive map then you would likely have to change some things but I’m not sure how to do that tbh
the shed that comes with the immersive farm 2 won't be affected by this

nothing can be no risk, but mods at NexusMod site should be ok as far as you install properly

Craylicia just had a mod that was safe but weren’t coded perfectly and caused a slight issue with the game

This occured before and to fix the issue you had to delete some lines from SVE NPC files (apparently the SVE NPC rooms cause an issue)

Delete all the tmx files in "[TMX] SVE NPCs"'s assets folder and remove these texts from its "content.json" file (at the bottom):

Is there a way to track or a smapi command to pick up everything on the screen, because there is an Apricot on my bat cave (SVE) but it's nowhere to be found on the screen and because of that I keep getting a forever notification about it being there in the Daily Report mod, the fruit probably spawned inside the walls or something, sometimes they spawn in places that you can only se a pixel of them to pick up.
tbh this is one of those instances where i recommend you should just install no-clip or smth, ik it feels like cheating when you have it on your game BUT it comes in real handy with spawn issues etc. especially in the cave and the farmhouse etc.

smapi itself doesnt “do” anything to your game, but it allows you to start placing mods in
its just the starvall modding api
I havve had it installed but when I go to the main file when it's unlocked it goes into an error message. One of my friends said to delete it and try resetting it up, so fingers crossed lol

I think the DoLevelPerk method isn’t getting called properly for Magic for my farmhand
His mana bar isn’t getting drawn, and the condition for it to be drawn is:
NOT (Game1.activeClickableMenu != null || Game1.eventUp || Game1.player.getMaxMana() == 0)
There should be double pipes after “null” and “.eventUp”.. didn’t realize those were reserved
DoLevelPerk() adds 100 mana, so my farmhand’s max mana shouldn’t equal 0 if that triggered
The heart event with the wizard uses SpaceCore’s AddCustomSkillExperience() method to add the necessary amount of experience to reach level 1 magic
Unfortunately, it’s hard to reproduce this heart event and see if there was anything wonky in either of our SMAPI logs..
But it looks like SpaceCore doesn’t throw an error if the skillName isn’t in the skills dictionary
I’ve just got to figure out which part of this code would work for the host but not a farmhand
