@robust bison Yes, there's a config.json file, and the property I mentioned is to change the keybind. But I want to disable the keybind completely.
Not sure if there's a way to disable it using only the config.json. maybe assign it to a key like page down if your keyboard doesnt have the extra right side

yeah mermaid island modifies the beach area
so its conflicting with sve
the mod page says its compatible

Mermaid Island doesn't load the beach, it just adds a tiny boat and warp
There are also forest double loads, which is definitely not Mermaid Island, plus the conflict is between a TMXL mod and a CP mod, and Mermaid's locations are loaded with TMXL

Unless you started replacing the entire Beach map (and Forest, for that matter) with Mermaid Island I don't think it has anything to do with your mod 😅

Maybe Island does replace the beach now Loading Map: IslandTMX>assets/Beach.tbin
I'll have to download latest to make sure, but we still need to see what is loading it from Content Patcher, which the patch summary should show...
(I checked, it doesn't. I guess that's just how it grabs the map bits inside the content pack for later adding/merging.)

We can fix it, though it's a bit of a pain to make it universally compatible 
if i replace the farm with a new mod, will it load the new farm in my old save file?
(Oh, well actually it's simple to make it SVE compatible b ecause SVE has some warp fixing scripts for farm makers to use, so that's always an option I guess.)
If you replace the farm map, it will use the new farm map on any save you load. Saves that you don't actually load will be untouched (and saves you open but don't save will likewise be unaffected)

If you switch maps midsave, you'll probably get debris in weird places and may have to move some things.

Reset Terrain Features (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4715) is a mod that allows you to reset, clear, or generate everything that spawns on a map via an in-game menu. This is especially useful when changing maps mid-save, as the debris will still use the old layout (causing things like trees in the water or bushes blocking exits) until reset.

In the SVE Immersive Map, since you can't remove those default fences in the farm that, is there any way to change how they look to make it the same design as the fences you can place anywhere? Because I am using a mod that changes how wood and hardwood fence looks.

Syzzle one way would be to replace the fences in the tile sheet, but you should probably only do that if there are no other options

Ah. Okay. I don't know when this happen, but bizarrely I wonder if it didn't work in last version, either. I feel like it didn't, but that's just a guess. In that big update where I first made it buildable, I also fixed several layering issues. When I opened the map fresh from Nexus, those layering issues were still present, so some changes were reverted somewhere and I had to do them over. I'm guessing the map property that sets the buildable version was a casualty of that.
Simple fix, but irritating.

I only switched to the buildable red shed because I decided I wanted to put something else where the original is
I've thought about revisiting IF2R to suggest some changes that would make its greenhouse similarly optional to move from the overrides system (while still supporting it for old installs...), but part of the reason it was put in place like that to begin with was needing to be veeeery very careful of all the million people using the existing version 
It would be nice to not have to deal with those instructions, anymore, and just tell people "turn this one off and install the other" instead.
Uh hi I'm on mac and I started using mods yesterday and everything was working fine until my game crashed today after I was asked to give my password for something about developer options? I don't quite remember. I clicked cancel a bunch of times and my game crashed. Then a weird message appeared on my terminal with 2 rows of === signs in the middle and now when I try to start the game it just starts normally without mods. I got it to work by copy/pasting the start command in my terminal history but after I quit the game it still starts normally when I launch it on steam. Can anyone help? sorry I don't remember much else.

it seems to work now except when starting it from steam there are no mods
Did you set the new directory in steam after installing smapi?
You need to change the launch options for sdv in steam if you want it to run smapi
By default, it launches Stardew Valley.exe, but you need to change it to run StardewModdingAPI.exe
I'm on mac
Try just reinstalling SMAPI, Chunkey
You don't need to mess with the launch options, but if something happened to revert the startup script, or you verified your files or anything like that, SMAPI would need to get reinstalled. On Windows it doesn't replace anything, so they don't have to do that (but do have to set launch options to start from steam, so... ⚖️ )

Started happening once i started summer, and only on areas which are not the farm or town, i use SVE and Immersive Farm Remastered, the error log throws no error

hmm, it seems my computer uses swap heavily when i run stardew valley (about 2GB), could explain the occasional very long load times (and the accompanying hdd write/read sounds, because the sdv installation and the config/save folder are on an ssd)
it only happening in winter seems strange, but i guess there could be more memory used for various reasons during that season

You can do that, but if you are going to upload the mod anywhere you need to have permission to use the assets

If i use a mod that adds more dialogue together with seasonal village outfits will there be cases where the portrait shows the vanilla outfit.

The outfits replace the original outfits
That way they are compatibility with any dialogue mods
unless the dialogue mods add more portraits, which i don't know of any that do by default? there's a wizard one that lets you turning on adding more portraits via a config option

Hello! This is my first time using mods. I recently downloaded stardew valley expanded and so far I have officially met everyone except krobus and the people from castle village.
I tried reading the SVDE wiki and it said that at five hearts with Marlon I should be able to access the sewers, I'm pass five hearts and the sewers are still locked.
do you guys know any good clothing mods?

@opal prawn there's plenty of clothing mods on nexusmods. Just go into mod categories and select clothing
Also make sure that the mods are updated to late 2019 and beyond, anything later than that would be 1.3

Looks like it. I even deleted my previous installation wizard, then hit repair to previous version, and everything seems to be going good again.
@burnt bay have you reached the bottom of the mines? I don't know if that's still a thing for the sewer key or not, but worth a try
also sorry if this sounds too obvious but don’t you have to walk into the adventure’s guild to trigger the cutscene with marlon for the key

@burnt bay it's not recommended to use CJB Cheats Menu to spawn in the Rusty Key because you might break some cutscenes. However, if you want to do so go ahead. Personally I would spawn in 120 staircases and then use the relationships menu to get Marlon up to 5 hearts.

@rare quest I am currently experiencing a glitch wherein after ||Apple's|| 2-heart event (and reentering the ||abandoned vineyard||) the Abandoned Community Center soundtrack does not stop playing, even while other music is being played and despite my character having slept. SMAPI (https://smapi.io/) is the mod loader for Stardew Valley. It loads mods into the game, provides APIs for mods to use, intercepts errors, and backs up your save files automatically.
You need to install smapi then you can get mods from nexus

How do I upload, or find, my SMAPI log? I've already saved and quit the game (hey, I found like half the mine); do I try to recreate the error so I can copy and paste it from the SMAPI window box, or is there a text file somewhere?

about the content of the log, did the issue you had happened last time you played ? if yes, then upload the log directly
if no, recreating the issue may help but you can still just upload old log and just knowing the mods you have will help track the issue possibly
if more details are needed people will tell you

I don't know if it's SVE related but Alex 4 heart event is looping, if you watch it when it ends it loops and start again from the beginning, it keeps going until you click on the skip button.

Hi, all--could someone help me with using the NPC map locations mod with Stardew Valley Expanded? When the NPC locations mod is in the mods folder, I still get the default map. When it's out, I get the Stardew Valley Expanded map but obviously no NPC locations. What do I need to do for these two mods to work together?

Every modder gets modding role
All the *smith roles are subroles of Modder (so they all share that). The pixelsmith is for spriting.
The smith narrows down what kind of mods they make

And then the 3rd kind is for smapi mod making

If you mean changing the horse skin, something like bfav might help
that's the closest i've seen
if u feel like getting more horses then get adopt 'n' skin
then get elle's new horses
and download the skins folder
then paste the skins folder into the adopt 'n' skin assets folder
the skins are randomized though

just wondering on SVE mod .. is Sophia's basement broken or was it removed ?
From what I understand, it was causing some (NPC Map Locations related?) weird crash and so was temporarily disabled.
I don't know if it's the same basement but you enter in one of her heart events
I mean, it's the same basement, but I don't know if the game loads the one that might crash or it's a different one.
hmm ... when i try to go in it now it don't warp in ... i am trying to enter the one in her house but i don't have her hearts up that high .. before the newest update i was able to enter it fine

Barred players from entering Sophia's Cellar due to a crash that would occur when NPC Map Locations was installed. This is a temporary fix. Several of Sophia's schedules have been slightly altered to reflect this change.

it boots up and immediately crashes with a white screen. no new mods have been added since it started crashing

i don't believe so. i revalidated my in-game files through steam just in case

I would recommend reinstalling the Rasmodius mod
delete all its files and install a fresh downloaded copy

It's a great mod! Adds a lot of new crops and machines. Nice when you've already played the vanilla and want to add more variations
The team works pretty hard to keep things updated and fix issues (if any)

yup, everything's the same, i've been experiencing that error since i got the mod but my game was booting up normall then
@thorn plank Romancable Rasmodius is no longer compatible with SVE. Flash is working on a patch, but for now gonna have to uninstall one or the other

nope, just booting it up. SMAPI loads the mods then it shows up momentarily as a white screen then they both disappear (crash) off my screen
try running the game without smapi and mods

I mean in the mod description it says to get it for the full mod experience, but it's not nearly big enough for my megalomania

If it's part of the map, then you'll need to get a mod that improves the quarry area that might remove it or edit the map with tiled

@dire fractal, now that I see what you are doing, would you like a completely clean area? I can clean out the path and the random ground texture. It wouldn't break anything you have placed to switch it out with the first one.

It doesn't seem entirely stable. Thankfully, I hadn't put too much in the chest, so I only lost the materials to make the better chest.

Odd, the error log is complaining about audio files it can't find.
I have had issues with a similar mod in Minecraft; it is possible the data from the chest overflowed into the data that controls the music.
Try it without mods, maybe you need to reset your game files
