is there a way to automate forage collection in somewhat balanced way? the deluxe autograbber has a system to do it globally but it's a bit too powerful for one autograbber to clear the whole map

I'm not actually sure about this. I think JA weapons are its own thing and doesn't interact with the tileSheet/weapons. We can confirm w/ @fast river
(for reference, Nightmare weapons was a xnb mod, I just added the golden scythe to the sprite sheet so that it isn't invisible)

SVE adds weapons with JSON Assets. So no, old weapons should not be affected

Make sure you read the instructions on the file page where applicable. When mods restructure their folders (like SVE did in 1.10), you need to completely remove the old folders, first.

Pierre only sells seed from the current Season, SVE makes Joja sell seeds from all seasons regardless of the current season

SVE compacted its files in this later update. Overwriting it wont work or else you end up with this exact error
hey I'm trying to update SVE expanded 1.9.5 to the just released 1.10.2 and have some questions about it. It says you have fully uninstall first "SVE version 1.9.6 and below must be fully uninstalled. This includes the [CP], [TMX], [FTM], and [SVE] folders"

@inner widget Ok lets start with the mods you have multiple copies of. You have a lot. SVE being one of them. Delete all of its old folders and install the new ones. Same goes for Artisan Valley, Even More Recipes, and More Food

Multiple patches want to load Maps\Cellar (Jen's Cozy Cellar > Load Maps/Cellar #1, Karmylla's Farm Cellars > Load Maps/Cellar #1). None will be applied.

Like I said, I just ran a test to troubleshoot, removed your cellar, added Jen's Cozy cellar to see if it appeared...but her's didn't appear. I am swapping it back right now.

In the Mods folder, copy Greenhouse.tbin out of [CP] Wren's Expanded Greenhouse/assets and into [CP] Immersive Farm 2 Remastered/Overrides.
If you aren't running at least v1.1.1 of my mod, update it and run the game with it installed at least once.
Open config.json in [CP] Wren's Expanded Greenhouse and under "IFR2 Compat", change "disabled" to "enabled". If you don't see this option, go back to step 2```

ahhh...yeah, I trouble shot that a little while ago. made a posting about how to do it exactly even.
To get it working with IFR2 do this:
Step 1: Place Greenhouse.tbin from Wren's mod into the [CP] Immersive Farm 2 Remastered/Overrides' folder.
Step 2: Go to /Mods/Wren's Expanded Greenhouse and edit the content.json file to remove this section:

This makes it so u can upgrade ur shed and preserve the japanese look. so on the outside it will look the same but on the inside it'll be bigger after upgrade. I figured this out by seeing how the code is written for the Coop and Big Coop changes. i hope this makes sense.
you can also do this with alternative shed PNGs, so u can have both sheds on ur farm! So instead of copying the 4 Shed_(season).png u copy the 4 Shed2_(season).png files and adjust the above code accordingly!```

if installed right it will install amongst the stardew valley folder ... it will ad a mods folder there for mods ... and u will need to direct it to load from there

the incompatible content packs would need to be removed, yes
or prevented from loading by putting '.' character on the beginning of the folder name

do you use automate? i had bad stuttering and solved it by setting the automate interval much longer (i don't know if there have been changes to automate in recent versions that could cause it to use more cpu, or if it's just that i'm using more cpu heavy mods now)

have you tried the performance monitoring function of smapi? it doesn't seem to work perfectly but maybe it could give you a hint

type "performance enable" in the console, walk around doing things that make the game lag, then type "performance summary" and "performance detail" i guess, and then the log has some information on performance

So I’m trying to use K’s animal mods (pig, goat, sheep recolors) and I keep getting a framework error when I run smapi that says “custom farm animals will not be added to shop” because of a BAV api error?

It's identical to the normal version of SMAPI, but has DeveloperMode enabled by default in the smapi-internal/config.json file. That shows more detailed output in the SMAPI console.

do the trace level messages take longer for smapi to complete the processes
or do they all pop up around the same time as the normal smapi

well, SVE has a setting that does something, basically just makes monsters do more damage / have more health by different amounts and makes some changes to their attack patterns iirc. nothing fancy
go to config.json and set value to true where it says stronger monsters
look in the (Stardew Valley Expanded) folder

hi all. I'm running a heavily modded campaign (SVE, animal husbandry, more fish an hisame craftables) And of course i met a conflict. (not a surprise ^^).
When i try using the kitchen, a loop is created where i keep trying opening the kitchen. I suspect interaction between Animal husbandry and Hisame craftables since both add new recipes.
How can i confirm my suspicions ?

if u're not familiar with sdv then u should play the vanilla game (original) to get a good sense of the game
@plain chasm sve is a good add-on though so if you want to try it out alongside sdv then go ahead and do it it's a really good mod 👍

I just installed the update, even reinstalled as per the manual instructions since it didn't work in Vortex.

it had 4 missing files which needed validation, launched in vanilla, crashed on loading. prior to this crash it was saying it was missing certain tiles. we shall see what else happens now on a fresh reinstall.

How do i determine which mod is/are faulty ? how can i fix it (uninstall a mod?) ? can i take the faulty mod out without putting the save to the trash ?
there are different options you can try : one is making a separate folder for testing which mod can do that, and remove/add half the mod (you test with one half, see if the issue is solved, test the other half is needed, then add half the mods and so on)
Do you want to play Stardew Valley with mods? This guide is for you!
you can also do it on the main mod group of course, it's just convenient to have another group for that
and as long as you don't save, no change is done to your save so you can remove mods freely for the test
after that, when you know what mod is causing the issue, most mod can be removed during a save without issues, some may be removed after removing the items they create, and some may affect your save and be harder to remove (but this category is not the most common)

as far as i can tell, the lines about champagne are complaining about not knowing what an ingredient is (maybe a mod missing), and the lines about producer framework say that you don't have some items needed to produce some other items
but since you don't have them, the mod will "disable" the recipes so you don't crash

the only thing that fixed it was removing starbue, but you could also manually edit the cursors

i think i might have found whats wrong .. and as always its something i did :/ i also have a mod called stardew foliage redone .. foliage only ... as it don't over write the bin there was something i didnt like about the grass on it and stupidily copy and pasted starblues tilesheet over it not realizing there was a huge difference :/

heh SOLVED ... i have immersive farms and it had a spring tilesheet in the folder ... i probably(most certainly ) put it there for some stupid reason as it was just the spring and not the other three .. once i deleted that tilesheet the bin showed up 😄

Anybody run into a problem where the game glitches out on the beach after a while of being there/fishing/taking something out of a crab pot? the first time the particle effects of a fish spot froze and then suddenly the camera no longer followed my character and I couldn't interact with anything anymore. Then it happened after I rebooted the game and emptied a crab pot, the cockle that was in it was just floating above it.
didn't happen before but the most recent mod I added to my game was the 15x15 greenhouse which I don't think should have affected anything on the beach, but I haven't reoped the game to see if this eventually happens in other areas too
my most intensive mod is SVE but I haven't had problems before this
also smapi doesn't seem to show that anything is wrong
I also got through one day of the game error free, could the fact that it was snowing when it's happening affect it? dunno just trying to be specific as possible

It depends, read carefully what the mod adds and changes and check the changes that SVE makes. Most mod authors include compatibility information on the mod page.

I still have some XNB replacement mods that don't
SVE replaces a lot of vanilla maps, so anything that tries to replace the same map will not be compatible. Mods that edit the same maps may or may not be compatible, and NPC events might not work as the author intended with changed maps. I'd download NoClipMode that can save you if you get stuck in an event written for different map.

They don't only replace visuals, but we don't recommend overwriting game files at all for a lot of reasons.

SSR has an optional download called Content Pack Example which is set up without any music files. It's the same folder structure you would use though, including the folder called songs.
Oh shoot. It looks like the sample pack is for an older version that still used soundbanks, but the newer version uses actual mp3 files.

@undone heart you have a lot of mods, and a lot of those need to be updated. I think it has to do with the game unable to find the music or songs for the flower dance.

see, I have downloaded all the latest versions of all these mods that I could find. I'll check again to see if those are manifest errors or maybe the update was released somewhere else...
also no xnbs in my mod history so I don't think a reset will do anything

sometimes resetting isn't just for xnb mods, but the game files can become corrupt also
Check the update links on the log, sometimes author release unnofficial updates on other sites

you just take the raw pngs and put them into AdoptSkin\assets\skins
Basically, I think the game is trying the play a sound when you click an option, but it is unable to retrieve it
you can make separate folder for all the animals in the skins folder which is recommended but not required
So does it matter what the name of the folder is?
Like can I make a Cat folder and put cat skins in there/ does it matter how many skins I use?
you can put in however many skins you want
just remember to keep to the naming scheme, have my cat skin folder as an example
Not an adopt and skin mod, but monster girls farm is a good reskin mod

you can basically use any reskin mod, even ones that don't have an adopt n skin version, just open the folder and yoink the raw pngs from the assets folder
and rename accordingly

not sure about 1.4, but mods that edit existing maps tend to conflict with SVE
right, i'll check if this mod only edits spouse rooms, i remember seeing fixes for problems associated with that

removing npcs completely from savefiles can be somewhat difficult and error-prone too, so i wouldn't want to add one that can cause serious problems
I don't see any map edits, so since the npc is custom it should theoretically be fine
You don't need to remove NPCs from save files post 1.4, SMAPI takes care of that

Just from looking at the file preview there are a couple things that might be a problem but are easily fixed - I'm assuming here that the file name is the same as the target in their json, and if so marriageDialogue.json is generic and should be targeting marriageDialogueNPCNAME instead - should be a single find and replace in the content.json.
The other is that it should not include the townInterior.png with the spouse room
so, for the townInterior.png, can i just remove it?

as of right now it's either SVE, CustomMusic, or CustomNPCFixes
those mods are packed with the SVE download so I'm double and triple checking it has the latest versions
@restive zodiac sorry, i'm not quite understanding what you mean by the marriage dialogue part. the mod has it's own file named marriageDialogue.json, which it loads to target Characters/Dialogue/MarriageDialoguePaul

I have a question regarding SVE. Since I have played on the previous version and it says new version needs to uninstall previous, I wonder do I need to start the game over again, follow the "Prepare an existing save" on install guide or can I just keep my save as it is?
I think you can keep as is
you don't need a new save but following the install guide should be helpful if you're confused

@normal steeple You shouldn't have to "prepare existing save" part, just make sure to completely uninstall all the SVE related folders before updating
It's because of a total folder restructure so if things are left behind you'll get duplicates and stuff not loading
@normal steeple yeah but you need to delete alll old sve folders in mods and basically install the whole mod again and since the folder names have been changed a bit following the guide is a good idea
