Yep, that's an XNB Mod. It has a ton of old files that will break your game if you try to install them
if it is that fragile, i'd rather not install then
You need to get mods which use Content Patcher directly (no .XNB files in the download)

Or you can install Customize Exterior and put the xnbs in the Customize Exterior buildings folder! it can load even really old building xnbs

you might be able to see in the console what it's doing on saving!
eg my game takes a while to save, but in the console there's a lot of stuff like Shop Tile Framework pointing out that it can't add some items (from a mod that I don't have that has integration with the shop mods I do have), Event Repeater announcing it has run its event checks, Sundrop City talking about setup, etc

if they've been updated since 1.4 came out then sure, otherwise you might have to convert them yourself, you can try to install them like in old BFAV complete with getting an old BFAV config to modify and see if the autoconversion works but it might not

nope, some of them are portrait/sprite mods... but i made some slight changes to the file... so it really isn't a major issue per say, it's just that it's not applying to changes in game

i deleted save everywhere but the problem remains... everytime i go to bed it just remains in the "saving" screen until i stop the saving process and after a while of walking around in town the framerate drops immensely

You will have to get rid of all of the PPJA mods you currently have, without overwriting them. Then, it's recommended that you download the mods separately, and not from the Master post, since that one isn't updated as often.
Having fun playing sdv mobile with my mods. I'm so happy the majority of my must haves are compatible. I am a little sad CoF crashes the game tho. Love that mod, but I can play without it

Since you didn't show a screen of the seasonal buildings mod posing an error, or your full log through smapi.io, I'm not sure what the issue would be, exactly.
Yes. If you look for all the mods listed separately, you'll find that the individual posts are much more up to date than the Master page at this point in time.
It's time consuming, but it will work better in the long run, and you can update the folders separately later down the line without things breaking.

The only seasonal mods I see is the Villagers Outfits and Emie's Buildings, and both seem to be working just fine.

@stone cape i downloaded this for elle's seasonal buildings, went in the zip and removed the folders for the mods i don't have, and then dropped the zip into vortex
For the mod compatibility textures, I've uploaded a separate .zip. Navigate to the mod, theme, and style folder of your choice in the .zip and copy/unzip the image files into the asset folder of the mod in your Mods folder and overwrite. By default these folders are:

The mod doesn't look like it's being loaded, though.
No where on the log does it say that it's loading SVE or any of it's related files, or that it had an issue running them.
Can you double check your mod folders to be sure you have SVE?

quick question for a friend who is getting back into stardew mods: is it generally a good idea to skip using mods that haven't at least been updated for Patch 1.4?

@neat pagoda Should work fine - while not recently updated, https://github.com/FlashShifter/StardewValleyExpanded/wiki/Troubleshooting#incompatible-mods has a list of all the maps SVE edits so you can not use other mods that edit the same maps, or at least test them first.
@undone plinth You can check the compatibility status of any known SMAPI mod with the latest game and SMAPI versions at https://smapi.io/mods. (It's manually updated.) For content mods like recolors, it's a combination of how it loads files, if the game has changed them since then, etc.
It's easy enough to remove a CP mod once added at least, but if you really want to get familiar, https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Migrate_to_Stardew_Valley_1.4#Update_impact has a list of m ost of the assets changed in 1.4. If a CP mod uses Load instead of EditImage (or EditData), and was not updated for 1.4, it will revert those newer changes.
I just deployed server changes to https://smapi.io which should fix the intermittent "CGI application encountered an error" errors some people have been seeing. Feel free to ping me if you notice any issues!

Hi everyone! I wanted to play my game with mods, like I do, and there is a smapi update. As you would, I went to get it. After downloading it, it says it can't find my game folder. Any reason why this is happening?
Try the steps at http://smapi.io/package/custom-game-path for "Option 1: global game path (recommended)" to configure the game path. Then the installer and Visual Studio will both be able to find the game.
(You can also paste the path directly into the installer window when it asks, though it won't remember it next time.)
I'm sorry I've never done this before, so I have no idea how to write the path it has.

Yep. If you click an empty part of the path box at the top (not on one of the words), it should turn into text you can copy.

When I use the SMAPI.exe I can play the game even while using Stardew Valley Expanded. If I try to open the game using Steam I get this error tho:

yeah, the missing bit is an artifact of how it detects edges
Everyone has to have it
it's difficult to fix without adding special cases
the shoulder, to the edge detector, doesn't look like a hard edge, so it adds padding around it, which causes it to round out, leaving the gap
in the config file, there's a list where you can provide data for forcing edge detection, but you'd need to know exact sprite data

It still exists even when I disable padding, but it's aight. Not a big deal, was just curious if it was my game settings or the mod doing it lol

but then you have to use your computer's screenshot program

The GitHub shows a small snippet but I'm not sure how to finagle it
Pretty sure I need "your-image.png" to be the recolor tilesheet but not sure which
I'll clarify the readme, but essentially you're patching the Small Beach Farm tilesheets from the _default folder: https://github.com/Pathoschild/StardewMods/tree/stable/SmallBeachFarm/assets/tilesheets/_default. So just overlay the part of the image you need to recolor with the recolored version.
The next Small Beach Farm has a smaller tilesheet, since it takes advantage of the new tile flip/rotation in SMAPI 3.4: https://github.com/Pathoschild/StardewMods/tree/develop/SmallBeachFarm/assets/tilesheets/_default. So I suggest only patching that top part of the spritesheet so it'll be compatible with the upcoming update.

The Portraiture mod isn't logging anything after it's loaded, which might indicate that it's never even being triggered to start

I didn't crash or anything and while the log says that I crashed last session, I don't actually remember it crashing
I use PC and when I open StardewModdingAPI.exe (The file form) and when I open it through Nexus, it says this "Oops! You're running Stardew Valley 1.4.5, but this version of SMAPI is only compatible up to Stardew Valley 1.3.36. Please check for a newer version of SMAPI: https://smapi.io/. Game has ended. Press any key to exit." so does SMAPI just need updated or is it something on my end that messing it up? And if others have talked about this, sorry for bringing it up again

Hi, I'm hoping someone could help me with a problem I'm having regarding use of SVE. After installing the mod and all of its necessary components, it becomes impossible to go into Pierre's shop without the game crashing. It shows what looks like the floor for a brief second before CTD-ing. Does anyone have any input on this?

Maybe, using the play store version of Android SMAPI? Someone was having some issues with that earlier but it wasn't clear if it was because Chromebook or something else.

@dire fractal does when I open it through Nexus, mean using Vortex or something? Make sure you're not installing SMAPI like a mod. It's alright to ping an author with issues with one of their mods, but we like for you to try and narrow down the issue. It may be one specific mod causing problems, and then you can reach out to the author of that one for help

We need a log, unless youre ab mp farmhamd amd its spacecore with a "you are not the main player" error in which case thats normal and not an issue
(Spacecore complains about existing in mp)
Should I post the error log? Cause that is the error I believe, but it was just odd cause this issue didn't occur until we got to the egg festival and my coop player could not see the new NPC's?

so... I had a couple of issues. I tried to set up a coop game for me and my gf and we got some problems because she has a laptop with two graphics cards and one of them (the integrated one from intel) couldn't run the game. She had to disable it but she lost the HDMI output. Is there any way to fix it other than disabling the intel card?
second problem is this happened while we tried to sleep to pass the day in multiplayer (this happened only in my end, her game kept running smooth and fine) and the game stuck on loading and I would upload the SMAPI log, but the page is acting up.

@humble pelican for the graphics card, one thing she could do is go to settings->Display->Graphics Settings and change the performance of Stardew Valley if she is on WIndows.
Not sure how windows 8 works, but it probably has the setting, but maybe under a different area
we already changed the dedicated graphics card setting to be standard, but stardew valley still uses the integrated one
