Anyone knows if the devs got any plans for mods on switch?

two options to figure out whats causing it -- first creating a second savefile -- if that fixes it, it's something in the first savefile.
the second is removing all unimportant other mods and gradually reintroduce them until it stops working
with all the mods they have and all the ones i have .. its a surprise we have mods that are different from each other π

i have tried oh so hard to remove some .. only to go back to nexus and download the amount i remove plus some more

@crimson flicker You're trying to use SVE (loads a summit map) with Summit Reborn (loads a summit map). You need to pick one or the other. (Also, when you share logs you can upload them to https://smapi.io/log so they'll be parsed, instead of sharing the file.)
but most ought to work -- just modding the farm itself might be tricky because of different stuff

Sketchy, the save won't be affected while you aren't playing it if you don't save with the mod installed, but to remove it mid playthrough you should check if the mod has specific instructions.

Kisekae was a limping along version, but clothes work completely differently now so you'd want Get Glam and Customize Anywhere.

Type the file path to the game directory (the one containing 'Stardew Valley.exe'), then press enter.

What do i do?
You need to type in the path to Stardew Valley.exe. A common one is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley, but you should be able to just drag the exe onto the installer window and have it get the path that way.
What happens when you try?
SMAPI doesn't mess with the original exe, just adds its own. Does running the original Stardew Valley.exe directly from the game folder work?

SMAPI has instructions for doing a manual install in its folder's readme. You could try that - you need more files than just the StardewModdingAPI.exe.

Hey guys I just cannot seem to get these errors out of my logs and IDK which mods aren't playing nice with TMXLoader
You need to edit the Grampleton Fields map in Tiled to fix it. Since the map is no longer supported, there aren't any already patched versions of it floating around.

Well, for that particular error, you could first try moving all the spring/summer/fall/winter_z_extras pngs from the SVE folder (copied, not cut) to Grampleton's. I think there was another one that needed a map edit if you get past that, though 
They'd probably be in the [TMX] Stardew Valley Expanded/assets folder, and you could just copy paste them into the Grampleton pack's assets folder.

SVE has all its own town maps, you can't use it with Karmylla's. You'll have to pick one or the other. Not sure what's up with BusStop, I'd check its TMX folder for a spring_outdoorsTileSheet.png somewhere and remove it if it exists. Haven't used CFR in awhile, not sure what's up with those errors, either.
Ahh at one point Karmyllas and SVE were both required I think and I don't need both, gotcha
Yeah, SVE used Karmylla's maps to cover the town and interior (at one point just replacing certain maps to fix warps or add SVE specific things), but they've gone their separate ways.
The getting rid of Spring Outdoor tile sheet seemed to work
I don't see that tilesheet in the Nexus version, so probably just a leftover file from some earlier oops

Hello ^^, I have a problem, when I try to enter the game, the screen goes black and remains loading no matter how much I leave it and it still doesn't work, and I can't take more days back because the saves_old don't work, the screen still appears in black, someone knows where this error occurs, in the last lines of the LOG an error comes out but I don't know which one it refers to. Weird question, If I wanted to make sure a friend and I had the same mods for a multiplayer game, could I just put my mod folders on say google drive and they download them and be okay? Or would we need to delete the config files for their personal game ?

version 1.2.1 that you can get from github seems to work generally, what problems it might have i don't know. (the download from github contains a zip file of the mod under ChildToNPC/bin/Debug, using any of the already existing folders from the download won't work)
does anyone feel the iridium ore seeds are a bit OP? I bought maybe a dozen and just got 33 regular iridium ore plus a couple of gold star and silver star ones. I suppose they do take a full month to grow and skull cavern could provide more than that. I love the meat plants too though!

You can only purchase the animals added by BFAV through Marnie's counter. I recommend grabbing Self-Service
It'll allow you to access her shop counter regardless of if she is present at the counter of her shop or not

Hey guys and girls! The changes you've all been asking for in Vortex are now available to test in our 1.2.0 version. I'd really like some of you to give it a try and let me know if you encounter any problems with it. I'm pretty sure we've mopped up all the problems reported.
Quick Summary:
- You can now install/update SMAPI with Vortex.
- New files created by mods will be linked to the mods that created them automatically so that they can be cleaned up properly.
- You can now launch SMAPI or SDV without mods from the dashboard (SMAPI is default).
^ In Vortex you'll need to change the "Update" drop-down to "Testing" to get the latest build.

It's hidden by default as in our research most users tend to start out with one mod list and don't swap between loadouts much (in general, not for SDV specifically)
Pretty sure there's a way to do it without a mod manager too.

I had the same problem after I built a cabin on my farm. I simply de-activated the ATDSV mod and ran the game again. blue squares & other things were gone. After a couple of saves, I tried reactivating ATDSV and experienced no problems. It specifically seemed to be linked to the option for ATDSV to deal with farmhouse furniture (true or false in config file)
for some odd reason, my floor tv wouldn't work. no matter how much i pressed the action button, the tv channels menu just won't appear. i don't know which mod is causing it. here's my log: https://smapi.io/log/ace24c2037144a2b85c51db257fc0835

@wind elm I installed them all again, and it's definitely broken my Spouse Room and taken out part of my ceiling! It worked for Clown yesterday though. I have my house upgraded to nusery stage - I don't know if Clown does (although I think yes by the wall in theirs)

okay so paritees animals like the roosters, bulls , ram and billy goat ect ... do they actually work and are random to get or are they supposed to be a separate purchase ... ?
Maybe Susan, but most of those are NPCs. And also two of them just have faulty manifest keys! But they do contain Spouse rooms, so you might be onto somethng there... I might just delete them as I am not intending to marry either character currently.

This tells you the animal you're getting up at the top, just keep exiting out and selecting the type of animal (cow, sheep, etc) and eventually you'll see the male version
it's how you can make sure you get different colors and not all one (brown chickens = brown eggs ets)

Hi all.
I have a modded map I'm using with monster spawns added (via the Farm Type Manager mod). They're able to spawn in fine and myself and friends can kill them. However we're not gaining any combat XP for any kills on the farm. My (brief) reading on it said this might be an intended behavior on the wilderness farm, but would like to tweak it to gain XP again if possible. I was unable to find a mod to do this through googling, and figured I could come here for help either finding one or giving some relevant info on how it can be made.
@woeful pecan Hey, Farm Type Manager dev checking in by coincidence. You're right that exp gain for monsters doesn't happen on the farm. I don't think it'd be very complicated to make a mod to change that, but I'm not personally aware of any.
If you know/learn enough C# to make your own SMAPI mod, I think this is the relevant bit of code in the damageMonster method of GameLocation.cs:

who.gainExperience(4, character.ExperienceGained);```
`who` is the player, and that `gainExperience` method just isn't called when monsters die on the farm, so you'd want to make that happen.
(PS I may add an "enable farm exp" option to FTM in a future version, but things are a bit backlogged)
I know some people more capable with code than I am. I'll forward this information to them and see what they're willing to do π

A FTM thingy: I noticed while playing with Boarding House that FTM-added 2x2 rocks aren't breakable with the tractor mod. Deep Woods-added 2x2 rocks are tractor-breakable though.
Might it be worth it looking into how Deep Woods spawns rocks?
As an update on my Shop Expander issue: It seems to only trigger when I go to Gregory's shop, Pierre and Sheila do not trigger it.

@naive drum Thanks for letting me know, but that's unlikely to get fixed any time soon, unfortunately. Backlog and all. I might be able to make up a pull request for the Tractor mod eventually, though 
(FTM basically disguises the rocks/etc as a different class so that existing locations* will handle them automatically. The Deep Woods location has its own custom location code for them, and the Tractor mod has specific code to look for that.)

Hi, I just recently bought stardew valley on steam, because I wanted co-op with my friends and mobile doesn't provide it, but I wanted to know how to get mods, may anyone help me?
Start here! https://smapi.io/ That's the tool. I use Nexus to get mods. Then you extract the zips into a Mods folder in your Stardew folder, which should be here C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley

either click Extract All, or just grab the whole subfolder containing everything that was in the zip and drop it somewhere

then you run the installer, and once it is done it will provide the file path you need to use to set your launch options

Then you can click Browse Local Files, or go to steamapps\common\Stardew Valley manually, and click Mods
it should have Console Commands and Save Backups in there already. Just add whatever mods you want in there.
Console Commands and Save Backup are both example mods that show you what a properly-installed mod looks like, and just general good things to have in modding

Just drag and drop in there alongside those two mods
Like those two mods, mods you install should be folders not .zips when you put them there, and shouldn't have huge amounts of numbers in their names.
Okay, I will keep that in mind.
Interestingly unlike those two mods, mods can be in nested folders! You can't put a mod inside another mod and have them both be loaded, but you can have eg a folder named "Custom Items" in your mods folder and then put all custom item mods inside that folder.

if the mod changes maps you might need to reset terrain features so you don't get blocked from going to certain areas

Is there a mod that makes fishing a bit easier or that will just fish automatically
fishing made easy suite lets you adjust fishing difficulty. joys of efficiency and cheatmenu have options for instant bite, instant catch etc. i believe
what i would like to have is a fish net or similar that would catch non-crabpot fish in the same way as crabpots, but i haven't found anything like that

I decided to reinstall all of my mods along with adding some new ones due to having not played in awhile. I have been running into an issue of this error message everyday at 5:30: process is terminated due to stackoverflowexception. My understanding is that this is due to a mod attempting to do too much. Currently I am in the process of subtracting one mod at a time and seeing if the game crashes that day. This process is taking awhile and was wondering if anyone knew of a solution/faster solution.

check out the croppening! makes a bunch of crops like that but in a more vanilla-friendly way. you can also look at crops anytime anywhere iirc, and there's an item in theft of the winter star that lets you do that in a certain area

and the theft of the winter star item is like a scarecrow+sprinkler that lets you plant crops from all seasons in a radius around it
the croppening makes a few crops regrowable and grow in more seasons
I want ALL seasons

I find the overgrown farm so nice and cozy looking but I feel like it's a bit small no ? I think it's the base farm size but I've ever played on it really, I quickly used mods and the Immersive Farm map so I can't compare

Well if you two want to look at them, it's called Ace's Expanded Farms. There's a CP version and a MTN version. MTN is broken though, as far as I know. So make sure you get the CP version

I was having major issues installing SMAPI on my Android Smartphone, 2018 Galaxy J7, it wouldn't install the app at all. But did give a mods folder and base signed APK. (Just wouldn't install. Yes, I had enough room, cleared all cache, restarted phone, tried 8x) but I went for it on my Lenovo Chromebook (base cheap laptop provided from my school) and it went right on first try...is it my phone or something else that caused the issues of not working on my phone?

Arcane, Save Anywhere has some known issues and is dying, you need to update your mods, and you should reset your content files

Yeah, it's missing a manifest.
If you use Customize Exterior you can drop the files into CE's Buildings folder, or alternatively you can take an existing manifest for a Content Patcher mod and change the mod ID in it and put it in Hobbit House's folder

Yeah I got it all worked out. It's really tragic I can't do longevity on a modular basis. Playing a multiplayer game with the Tax system on low profit margins sounds hilarious.
Rumor has it that a non-Longevity taxes mod is in the works!
I've tried a few times to ask this, and hoping again to have someone answer. Farmer to Florist is no longer giving me the potted recipes in mail. No errors that I see, and I've uploaded my log a few times with no answer. Tried on the board on nexus as well. Does any one have any suggestions? I'm getting them on any old farms, but not any new ones, and I've tried 10 times so far, each time trying to go forward a week. I didn't do anything except update all of my mods.

Okay! That's fantastic news. I wanted to start a new game with SVE map, and I legit thought it was that at first.. and then the other 9 farms quickly showed me it wasn't that at all.
Does using the zoom buttons affect how portraits are shown? As in does zooming out make them smaller and zooming in make them larger?
@rancid badger hey just a heads up, your public access tv keeps playing the adventurers guild music even after closing the tv. also, it requires me to turn on the channel multiple times to get all the info cause it closes after every line. moreover, marlon's face stays on there even after closing and only goes away after playing another channel (he stays there during the other channel's screentime overlaying it)
idk if it's the case for other channels since I haven't unlocked them yet

Hey in stardew valley expanded immersive farm map, is there anyway to remove the fences but keep the shed and the pre made crop fields?
i think theres a clean version of the farm, i think you have to download it in the optional, or maybe its in the config file in [CP] Immersive farm
so i installed mods for this game (with smapi) but i want to delete all of it and play the regular game with my friends. i may have deleted some of the main game items and switched them with the modded ones, but is there anyway i can fix that?
go to ur library, right click stardew valley, hit properties, click the tab "local files" and hit the option "verfify integrity of game files", that'll repiar the files

@unborn agate down over the bridge. Coming back that way I ended up in the lake momentarily. Not sure that's a bug i need to fix or not I basically just installed SVE for compatibility testing
The selection of items for those quests is pretty complex, but it looks like there's nothing in the code to avoid people asking for stuff they hate, or anything. The wording some of the NPCs use for their quests would make that less of a problem though.

Has anyone seen an issue with workbenches not functioning properly? I haven't played in a couple weeks, booted my game up and now workbenches are all messed up. No new mods, didn't update anything. What's happening is I can click on them, but then when it opens up the background of it is transparent and if I exit it, i can't go into it again without hitting it with a pickaxe and putting it back down. It also doesn't pull from the chest next to it.

If I add multiple projects to a VS solution and add manifests to those projects, when I build it will it automatically add a folder for each project with a manifest, i.e if I use TMX with my SMAPI mod

they cannot join you via "invite to game" steam invites
you have to give them your invite code (esc -> show code)
because smapi wont load when "invite to game" is used
one of them joined with the invite code and it still isnt working for her
make sure they're running smapi and not regular stardew
and also make sure that they have the mods installed correctly

SMAPI will use the default asset instead; uninstall one of the mods to fix this. (Message for modders: you should usually use StardewModdingAPI.IAssetEditor instead to avoid conflicts.)

more than one mod wants to edit LooseSprites\map and I can't tell which mods you have installed from that alone
I know but this isn't mine. if you look a bit higher another person was having problems with this, I copied this from their log to try and explain why it's happening

anyway @prime grove the bit I copied means a content patcher mod is trying to load the same asset as npc map locations but none of the cp mods I see in your log look like they should load that, curious.
There's also an issue with smapi being unable to find the save game info, could you post a screen of the inside of the folder that is the save you were trying to load?
Hey all. Was directed here by pathoschild for an issue I'm having. Steam overlay doesn't seem to be working for me on MacOS, nor is the invite friends button from the in game menu. I've followed the guide on the wiki, reinstalled mono and smapi multiple times, and have tried several paths as launch options for Stardew in steam. Any ideas?

@solar axle Hi! Just to make sure, did you reset the Steam launch options (so they're blank), and you're launching the game through the Steam UI?
I did reset the launch options, and yes I'm launching through the steam UI

Yep just as I'd launch any other game.
Hmm, Steam should be detecting it then. You could try restarting your computer (it actually does fix it sometimes) or try reinstalling Steam, but otherwise might need to wait for a MacOS modder.

hey guys so I'm playing multiplayer modded and when I try to make it multiplayer, I can't invite friends or click show invite code
like the button is there but when I click it nothing happens
all my friends are on steam and they don't have an option to join my game/I don't have an option to invite them via steam
Auto Load Game no longer seems to work for CoOp.
Hope the author is able to fix it.

also idk if this matters but whenever I set my game to multiplayer and i exit the settings, when I go back to the settings it goes back to offline

The game will be online when a player joins or if you switch the Host to Active mode

Hey all, I'm playing Stardew Valley Expanded (with a few extra other mods). I just tried to upgrade everything to latest versions and forgot to back up my mods folder first π it now crashes as soon as I leave my house. Is anyone able to help debug this issue?

@sharp belfry so to fix the problem with the map i can remove NPC map locations for SVE and the warning message goes away. But i wonder what other mod could be conflicting with it
as for the safe file error. I removed a safe file because it got corrupted every world and safe still loads find so it isnt really a concern.
if you have any idea of what i could do with the map problem that would be awesome
@solar axle Hmm, I thought that zip issue on MacOS was fixed. That'll only affect save backup though.
I actually just updated to smapi 3.4 and the zip thing wasn't present, the other issues still persist though

Karmylla's Immersive Maps and Stardew Valley Expanded are no longer compatible. Remove one of them to fix the error. (When downloading a mod update, make sure to read the file description for update instructions!)
Those two haven't been compatible for months now; you'll have to choose one or the other

Yep. I suggest updating your mods first (see "Suggested fixes" at the top), then see if it still happens and post a new log.
I did just update smapi and that took away about 59 errors

Ok so newish to stardue valley (58h in a unmodded playthrough). I like the game but want to cut down on the grind work a but. I have installed several mods for qol along with the automate mod and Convenient chests. My goal is to automate a lot of the production chains. Is there any options for sorting loot that are better than convient chests? Other mod recommendations?

Seems like your Lunaris_241681113 save is broken. Try restoring the previous day to fix that: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Saves#Undo_the_last_save. (I suggest backing up the folder first just in case.)
Right-click it, and choose Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder.

@lime holly the only thing I can think of is reverting to an even older save file if possible. If that doesn't work, there's always the option of creating a new save and using a save editor and/or cheats to get it to a state similar enough to the broken one, thus basically recreating the save.
@signal latch assuming you have it installed properly (ie all required mods are there, mods are unzipped into their folders etc) I think the problem is that the shirt assets are in the game but you have no way to access them. You need CJB item spawner to find them.
