Now, funnily enough, I have two mods by LavaPulse, the Chickens and their Quail additions. This error only shows up if I have the Quail mod in the folders, though it's an additional mod that requires the Chickens mod to function.
Does this mean that the Quails have a conflicting value with the Chicken mod, or with the game itself? Any and all help would be appreciated, and please let me know if you need the full info log and I can try to run it for someone.

The mod seems to have an update, now, so I suppose in the meantime I will try and handle all the mod updates and see if it fixes anything.
[In the Error Log, please disregard the empty folder, it's where I place mod updates before putting them in their organized folders and replacing the others].
I'll also mention that some of the mods say they need updating, but I have the current version available. Unsure what that's about?

@inner owl easiest way to edit max stamina is to just get CJB Item Spawner and spawn stardrops until you're happy with it. make sure to right click and get them one at a time--if you accidentally grab a stack, open your inventory menu, click on a different inventory slot, and you'll eat one more then they'll disappear
I don't think so, among other things he's using harmony for his mods, which isn't easy to work with

hi, silly question potentially, but i'm a bit at a loss. I am waiting for the polygamy mod to update, and since it's not compatible with 1.4 i don't want to launch the save file where i am married via that mod. if i load the game, but make a new save file, will my game still be affected by the broken mod? (i have not loaded it since the 1.4 update)
Nope, your new save file will be fine and your old one will not have any issues unless you try to play with it

for some reason despite having JUST updated the mods i am using the ones that HAD updates on them my SMAPI is still telling me they can be updated?

I have no idea why SMAPI is saying "Hey you can update these mods!" when i JUST updated them 5 minutes ago.
Check the manifest file and see if the number on it matches whoever you downloaded from?
At least the first one looks legit. So unless the mod author uploaded a new version, their manifest matches the update that SMAPI says.

@worthy moth looking at the log it seems like older versions are being loaded than what smapi says to update to
like i don't THINK it'd cause any game errors as it simply says i can update the mods mentioned except i already did lol from the same people who made said mods so might just play anyway shrugs

The only error I see is telling you to remove Ran's stuff. The rest is just update alerts (which there are indeed some broken manifests right now). Just let the author know if you are continuing to get update alerts despite having the most recent download
i have json assets 1.6.2 downloaded on march 3. and it doesn't have a broken manifest, could be that something went wrong with the updating
ok, I give. Built a test save just to see if I could figure it out. Using Custom Greenhouse Warps with Ace's expanded greenhouse mod, default map. Create save, use debug command to finish Community center, enter greenhouse, goes to the correct spot. Go to bed, save, to next day, walk into the greenhouse and it putting me into the default warp (which is inconveniently in a wall)

i have DSVO in our multiplayer and at least a couple of the other people use SVO, and as far as i can remember i haven't seen any issues with seasonal outfit patches other than the "farmhands can't see custom NPCs at festivals" thing
my nudist farmer issues seem to have something to do with JA clothes getting.... scrambled somehow? and once we had a farmhand go fully invisible except the hair and clothes, but we think that was get glam weirdness

I had someone download smapi and a bunch of mods a while back for me. When I went back to play it later, i got an error messages saying i needed to update smapi. I tried but couldnt figure it out on my own so i deleted the smapi file and all of the mods along with it. I've tried reinstalling stardew, verifying files, etc. I can't get my game to open whatsoever
if someone could help me figure out what's wrong, that'd be great. I just wanna farm man 😢

download SMAPI from the site, unzip it, run the install on windows file, type 1 in the box that comes up, and it will be updated

no worries, it's a lot to figure out when you're new to modding!
that log website is your best friend for figuring out what's wrong with your game--often you can figure out issues like stuff not loading just from looking at it, and it will tell you what needs updating

I think save anywhere, lookup anything, happy birthday, and UI info suite are some good mods to start with
yea ive played alot of modded terraria and those type of informational mods are always good
try out some custom NPCs, like lyell, john, or the Boarding House and Island mods!
But if your looking for more content, SVE, NPCs, and dialogue/event mods

i would recommend if you want to try out SVE to have a save specifically for that mod, because it's difficult for other mods to keep compatibility with it and you won't be able to have most map mods
Its a mod that adds a ton of content
so dont try to add anyting with it?
personally i prefer stardew valley reimagined 2 and karmylla's for map edits, neither of which you can use with SVE
you can, just not anything that edits maps or NPC schedules! it's just a smart idea to have an SVE and non-SVE save file imo

i always forget if there's a command for mod groups but you can have multiple mod folders!
save anywhere is prone to issues
it's much better than it used to be- it used to be totally incompatible with all custom content of any sort- but it still requires mods to actively support it on their end and still crashes or possibly even corrupt the save if the mod doesn't support it
(iirc this is due to it bypassing SMAPI's save event, and if it didn't do that it'd be compatible with everything by default)

@lapis void @naive drum I noticed you both saying Vortex doesn't work properly for SDV mods. Could you elaborate? I'm not been made aware of any issues in months, so as far as I know it's working.
There were problems a long time ago, and that seems to fuel misinformation :/
people have been having issues with both that and to a smaller extent ModDrop with complex mods, stuff like SVE or PPJA. it causes a lot of confusion for things with a lot of install instructions and mods end up in the wrong folders sometimes or with duplicate copies
i've also seen a couple people recently confused about disabling mods in vortex vs removing/disabling them manually
Hmm... I'll be honest, that sounds a lot like user error rather than a problem with the app itself. I've just installed SVE and although it's packed in an unusual way, SMAPI's latest enhancements mean it still works fine 🙂

Some mods have loose files inside the zips instead of a folder and vortex unpacks them all separately in the mod folder but that's just a matter of clicking the preview file contents button to make sure

yeah, that's one of the main issues with vortex for SDV--it's also been known to have problems with mods that require clean reinstalls when you update

The "clean update" thing is something that'll be addressed in Vortex 1.2.0

It's update detection is.. sometimes iffy. Namely, it.. sometimes installs the new version
and doesn't uninstall the old one.
(and sometimes I had to argue with it to remove the old versions.)

So the problem is that the txt file needs to be in the mods folder on it's own?
because the txt file is in that folder, SMAPI can no longer read it as a mod because it's looking for a manifest
to install that mod correctly, you would need to put [JA] Baker's Life and [PFM] Baker's Life into Mods separately and the txt file should either go into mods on its own or be skipped somehow in the installation process, as it's meant to be a guide for the player to keep elsewhere
The convention that most mods follow is that they're self contained in a single folder where their manifest lives. The fix in that case would be for the author of that mod to simply put it inside the mod folder itself. We are doing our best to cater for all possible install patterns : )
If the cookbook.txt file isn't important to the mod, it could be argued that info could be put on the mod page somewhere instead I suppose.
right, but the other fix in that case would be to install that mod manually and follow its install instructions
that seasonal anime portraits mod that someone is having difficulty with right now is another one that's best to install manually because it's meant to overwrite part of another mod

I don't think you're going to be able to cover all install patterns, but these aren't unknown install patterns, too

I would say even the current version of Vortex covers the majority 🙂
With the mods in question I can definitely talk to the mod authors about the best way to pack their mods to be standardised. For Seasonal Anime Portraits I can think of a couple of small changes that will allow Vortex to manage it and make manual install easier.

nah, the anime portraits mod it outdated and not compatible with current svo. If you still want the seasonal villagers I suggest reinstalling svo and making sure it works correctly ( changes both sprites and portraits ) and then we can try making the anime work

There is an option in the config to disable the fog entirely if the lighter fog option doesn't help

hi guys... I just updated an older (maybe last played 3mos ago?) save. I updated all my mods and everything works during the day, but it instantly crashes when I sleep. Here's the log. I've watched smapi's window and the second I sleep, all the text instantly goes red.

I've uninstalled a couple of mods, I think these: Artisan Valley and anything it required, and custom farming redux, because I didn't want them after the latest update.
A fresh game has no trouble saving and sleeping.

disable the show npc map location feature of ui info suite and use the npc map locations mod, it works that way

there is a file call Immersive Farm 2 Remastered that give a better looking map than normo SVE

So, my SDV Expanded was working fine, downloaded the new update, and now when I load the game the SVDE mod refuses to work, and I'm not sure what I did wrong since followed the instructions they gave. :x Did anyone else have issues with the game 'breaking' like that?

In the museum, you talk to gunther and you can collect rewards
not the vanilla one, the mod with the ancient cropS - you get the first one - ancient flower with a letter. got the letter but no seeds

So uh, I wanted to ask about an issue i've been having with the Romanceable Rasmodius mod, I'm new to the SDV modding community, and I wanted to ask what could possibly be happening.
Currently, when I try to give the Wizard the bouquet, a dialogue box opens saying "Is this a joke, I don't get it." and etc. Aditionally, a textbox appears when I try it again saying I can't date the Wizard.
Could there perhaps an issue with the mod installation or is it clashing with another mod?
Currently I'm using the SDV Expanded mod, the compatible version of Romanceable Rasmodius along with all their dependencies, and the Anthro Characters Continued mod.

I just started a new save to see (I uninstalled and reinstalled it too, just in case, before tentatively putting sve back in) and when i opened that save, he was jittery/white boxing on me, but on this save, he's fine, so :/ guess i just won't play that save

I have a feeling that may be one of the thing we've fixed for 1.2.0 (the Babies take after spouses thing)
Basically, Vortex had a hard time with mods that created new files while the game was running. So an old version of the config file that mod creates could've been left over after you updated it
But 1.2.0 has a new feature where it looks at any new files and makes an educated guess which mod they came from and assigns it to that mod folder.
So it gets removed properly when updating/uninstalling.
Doesn't pretty much every mod create the config file initially while running, and Vortex has issues with that?

So basically, when Vortex installed a mod (in the current release) it expected that mod to be "complete" i.e. contain all expected files.
It's not terribly common for mods to create new files on the fly (across all 90+ games we support) so we didn't have functionality to catch those properly.
So when the mod made a new file, Vortex was like "well, that's nothing to do with me, I know which files make up the mod". And ignored it.
Complete probably isn't the right word, but I hope that helps.
(The only major use case I can think of for SDV is config.json files, which are generated if they don't exist already, and mods are not supposed to package those in the download.)
The other issue is how important those new files are in some cases. And how they can vary from one mod version to another.
So you install v1 and get the v1 config file. Then you install v2 but the config file wasn't replaced. So when the mod checks for the file it exists, but may contain old data.
It was some of the guys here that helped me understand what was going wrong, so I made it my mission to annoy the Vortex team until we had a solution 😉

I've also been reaching out to authors with unusual file structures as I find them to see if they'd be happy to adopt something a bit more standardised.
My hope is, once you all see the improvements we've made it'll make things easier for both authors and users alike 🙂

What about the persistent issue of when uploading a new version of a mod if it doesn't have enough of a change to get past what I assume is a filter it'll just reupload the latest version/cached version? I have to sometimes try over the course of 4 days to get a new version to upload which is extremely frustrating.
Is the manifest for QAP Artisan Valley right on the 1.04 download? SMAPI keeps telling me to update it, even after downloading it today.

I tried to remove different mods several times, but the stutters only really stop when I'm almost out of mods, or playing vanilla.
