The Wiki said that the path should go something like StardewValley\Mods\Modfolder\Mod
So I put the Mods folder in the StardewValley folder
that isn't the correct StardewValley folder

that appdata one is where your save files, screenshots, and SMAPI error logs are stored. the main one should be in the steam folder

I did not read the path properly and went to the StardewValley folder in AppData instead of the correct path

Stardew Valley Expanded - PyTK 1.9.5 because you have multiple copies of this mod installed. Found in folders: Mods\[TMX] Stardew Valley Expanded Locations (1.9.2), Mods\Stardew Valley Expanded\[TMX] Stardew Valley Expanded Locations (1.9.5). so for example, you have the old version still in a [TMX] Stardew Valley Expanded Locations folder, and the new one is inside the subfolder for SVE

Okay, nevermind. It made ancient flower honey. I had to delete ALL references to bee houses in custom producer mod. Lookup Anything doesn't show that it was going to make the correct honey. xD
So yah, that's the problem.

when you say launch, are you talking about getting from opening SMAPI to the title menu, or from clicking a save to loading into the save?

huh, it doesn't seem to be freezing on any specific mod, it just.... takes SMAPI a full minute and a half to get going
can you do a quick test? either take everything out of your mods folder temporarily, or make a second mods path if you know how to do that, or put dots in front of the names of all your folders, and try launching it again

Hello there. π I'm a long time player of Stardew Valley who is just now trying to get into using mods because the vanilla game just doesn't have everything I want in it, which of course is why mods exist in the first place! I've read the mod FAQ on the Wiki. I have the latest version of Smapi installed and install things mods need (content patcher and the like.) I've gone and downloaded a bunch of mods multiple times and some/most either just plain don't work or conflict with others. I have used the Smapi mod list to check for broken mods/mod conflicts, but unfortunately there's no real list for things like buildings and what not, I find. Aka other things that aren't just Smapi mods by themselves. I use this site https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley to get my mods. Can someone help me? Spending hours downloading a bunch of things only for them to not work then deleting my mods folder and doing a fresh install only to do it all over again is getting very tiring. >.< I'd really appreciate any help I can get!

Content Packs aren't typically in the compat list unless they actually crash the game, as an fyi. But yeah, a log is always the place to start

Nope, it's the whole mod. We debated adding a barebones non-seasonal back in, but it's really not feasible
Would it be possible for DSVO to use GenericModConfigMenu or are sprites loaded after the game is launched and not when the game is loaded
DSVO is a content pack, albeit a massive one. So the parent mod (Content Patcher) would have to add support for GMCM. Unfortunately, it's a long term goal since it'll require some heavy rewriting of CP

None of my ProducerRules.json files have the Bee House in them.
They did not when the issue was occuring, either.
However, Quality Furnace Mod for me (which was starting from CPM) and CPM for another person had the Bee House in the producersconfig.json and the JA flower honeys were not being spawned while those config rules existed.

(that's a troubleshooting suggestion for broken mods, but also a good practice for updating large mods like SVE)

Question about SVE - is there a fix for seeing some default vanilla areas (like the farm and the town) when it should be the new expanded areas?
Me and two other friends installed SVE with the optional extra-big farm map, and it runs just fine, but when my fourth friend followed the exact same process with the same files (I shared the mod folder as a zip, so they're definitely the same) he loads into the MP session with the wrong maps. He doesn't load the new farm map, or the new town map, though he does load the new forest map south of the farm so we know it's kinda working.
The command line console thingy said stuff about certain folders being empty, though they were definitely not empty.

the instructions for where to find that are on the top of that page--don't just paste the console error, find the SMAPI-latest file and drag it onto the site

the farm map isn't loading and he's done something weird to the SVE folder
see, the weird thing is that I gave him a prebuilt "Mods" folder with everything already installed. He downloaded SMAPI, ran the .bat, dropped my Mods folder's contents into his, and it had the same issue
And that prebuild mods folder worked fine for my other two friends
It...looks like he took all the Assets folders out. And discarded everything else.

Re-added the ProducerConfig:
This bee house config is wrong
you need to use the new one from Custom Producer Mod
It does not have the NoInput config
So the rule is never used
The rule doesn't exist though

I have zero rules in any PFM packs that touch the beehouse at all
i'm still trying to figure out what's going wrong, i think it may be something going on with your greenhouse mod?
but since you have a config for it, it alter the way the bee house produce
So he uninstalled everything already, which includes his log file apparently.
Weird thing is he used the same files I did and didn't go into them to delete anything. He even checked to make sure the "empty" (according to the errors in the console) folders weren't empty, and they weren't. When it didn't work he downloaded them directly from the nexus, put them all in, and it produced the same errors. Completely uninstalling stardew, starting with fresh game + fresh SMAPI + fresh mods from nexus produced the same errors. Wish he hadn't given up and deleted everything already.
we could say the bug here is that the bee house is still producing honey
since this config is turning it into a "Input Machine"
but since it has no rule, it's probably not working properly, I couldn't test all this exception cases.

Maybe the person had Custom Producer Mod, and another mod with the Bee House config, so it was conflicting
and the wrong config was loaded first
they removed CPM and it fixed the issue
@carmine oar i'm still looking through it, but could you both try uninstalling ModSettingsTab? that's what gave her the error and i'm not sure how that works/if it's saving your settings properly
I would need to see their case so, because with just CPM it's working as intended.

hmm maybe try removing your greenhouse mod first before going lumberjack mode
the greenhouse you have seems to be SMAPI so i can't tell what's going on with it, it's possible that could be the issue
which I guess is still part of the same problem. Won't removing greenhouse mod with all that extra shit in it screw up the greenhouse?

it will yeah, i think it'll probably eat the stuff you have in there--but if you have your save backed up you might be able to do some surgery on it
If you change greenhouse mods to a smaller one you're likely to end up with trees/crops in out of bounds. The game handles this surprisingly well.
i think when i've had to do this some of them have stayed just, in the void and are recoverable

probably not? you can use reset terrain features to reset trees

then new versions

weird error nameless items, yeah, very very rarely JA doesn't properly autoreassign everything's IDs and you get errors

it's just tiny while all other same time ones are fine
the key now is to find what tree is causing it
hopefully one of the nameless
more commonly, you just get old pickles/jellies/wines/etc that have the wrong name eg "Pickled Spring Rose Starter" or "Blue Mist Seeds Schnapps"

Sundrop works if you don't have SVE. If you do have SVE you can't get there because SVE eats its warp

I reinstalled the game and put the mods back, motorcycle is there! Just need to figure out why everything is yellow again
So the culprit is Less Yellow Stardew, it's screwing with the motorcycle area!

the latest update for starblue fixed something that had bothered me for a long time, the stone path
it makes it look like the stone paving in the town
I strongly recommend Starblue, but make sure to read the readme and look at the config options
eg if you use NPC map locations you'll want to disable the map in starblue and get the extra download for NPC map locations to get a recoloured map with proper positions
