When you moved the installer folder out of the zip, you should end up with a whole SMAPI 3.2.0 installer folder, right? Can you run the install on windows.bat (you may not see the .bat if you have extensions hidden) and take a screenshot of what happens if there's an error?

I've no idea where this one came from. I had thought it must be an old version that was briefly up and fixed, but when I asked Flash about a different bug and mentioned it, he hadn't even realized it happened, so I don't know when it was included by mistake, only that it started happening a lot recently.

Scale Up (also by Routine) does the same thing via Content Patcher instead, so you get all of the functionality of CP too

It works, it's better for if you plan to switch between portrait sets (that's its main feature)
there are also machines where you can store your geodes and it will process them over time

it says to install portraiture, and place the modded portraits into the portraiture mod
wich i did, and i can scroll through the folders i made for the portraits but the actual portrait in game doesn't change

also animal husbandry's butcher-related stuff is straightup a reimplementation of vanilla mechanics and items that still even have sprites etc in the files

@ Wingheart yeah, and it was cut for a reason. CA decided it didnt fit, and the community as a whole mostly agreed with that. games often have unused files. heck if i remember right arent there old portraits for some characters still in the game?

with the rise of the ImpossibleBurger and plant based meat, a mod to do just that
(CA is also aware that there are mods that make use of those sprites and that's why he didn't overwrite them with new items I believe. No confirmation, but he does keep an eye on some of the bigger things)

We could def use some more vegetarian recipes though, we have soy but it's under-utilized
irl, they synthesise something called "Heme" from soy which is also found in animal tissue. It's what gives the 'bloody' taste

Some of these required mods have their own requirements, so read each mod page carefully!
Generally, the bigger the mod the more mods it requires. The good part is most of the requirements for various mods are commonly used frameworks so you won't have to download much extra after the first batch

Generally, 1.4 added some craftables for example so if that mod is older than late 2019 and changes them the new ones might become invisible

WRT mods that change craftables/springobjects and are old, if they're CP it's pretty easy to do a quick conversion (changing Load to Overlay, generally, although depending on the mod sometimes you have to erase some stuff from the assets image)

eg Probably Purple and Certainly Rainbows had a bunch of issues with invisible stuff or other weirdness (green tea was turned into the words Tea Leaf, which was funny enough that I seriously considered not fixing it)

The order of action for me is check last update date (after Nov 27 is 1.4)->check comments->ask on here->cross fingers, download and check for yourself
In time you'll get a pretty good sense of what type of mod is more or less likely to cause problems by being out of date
generally mods that don't show up on there are either XNB replacer mods (go in the Content folder and overwrite game files, assume incompatible, check on Chucklefish for a conversion) or content pack mods (generally compatible if the framework is compatible)
(Bear in mind that I'm not an expert and I sacrilegiously use Vortex so other people's advice probably trumps mine)

Funny XNB mod story: When I was first getting into Stardew modding, over a year ago, I hadn't heard of SMAPI and used a few XNB replacers. Even once I discovered SMAPI and was using it, I'd forgotten to back up some of the game files so I didn't stop using every XNB mod, only most of them.
The XNB mods reacted weirdly with a few wizard-related mods and basically turned the Wizard in my game into a genderfluid shapeshifter.

Hi, I have the GoG version of SDV and when i decided to mod i actually copied and pasted the entire SDV folder to my desktop so I had 1 for mod and 1 for vanilla, is there a way to update the mod version to 1.4.5?

Probably, the lag was mostly because a few maps were extremely big, the next update is shrinking them especially the desert railway
(Desert Railway had 2 accessible areas placed very very far apart)

no, you can use it--I believe that's talking about Ace's Farm Expansion?
heads up though, SVE is not the best on mobile right now and may have some issues
there seems to be a problem with farm type manager from what i've gathered from the android SMAPI dev, and SVE also has several very large maps that can cause a lot of lag

farm type manager is fine on PC, but the large maps can still cause lag on less powerful machines
yes, you need to have content patcher installed but as long as you have that you can just drop the [CP] Name Of The Mod folder into your Mods folder
make sure you don't have any folders with long strings of numbers after the name from extracting them--if you do, just drag anything inside of those into the mods folder and delete the one with numbers
those can sometimes have loose files like a readme or example pngs, so SMAPI won't read them as a mod

they would conflict because they're patching the same thing (alex's sprites)--you would have to either just use SVO, or turn alex's seasonal outfits off in the config for it and not have his new seasonal outfits
you can still use seasonal villager outfits for all the other villagers!

whenever I do the command my game crashes and the expport is just black
i did neither of those. didn't leave the tractor there and also didn't build the garage there. i couldn't even access the farm expansion maps

go to the options menu and scroll all the way down, there should be a screenshot option and you should be able to change the zoom level of the screenshot

there are many bugs with some doors, doors of a building have a second spawn on other place and both of them work, but anyways
Summer Hours has to re-merge all the doors in order to change the hours on them, so if a door moves it might not account for it.

I suppose it is technically possible that there are maps SVR loads that SVE doesn't, and you could just turn off everything else, but it's not really likely. If you have two things that both completely change a file, you're going to have to choose between them.

First install smapi, then you can install mods in he folder it creates. I assume by content loader you mean content patcher, which is just a mod like any other (that a lot of other mods depend on)
I encoruage you to read the descriptions of mods when you download them, as that will tell you what other mods they require to be installed + any configuration options, known bugs, etc
I dont unse SVE so I cant answer that one. Building retextures should work as long as thats not something SVE touches (again, i have no clue, you're gonna have to read the description)

I think dialogue overhauls should be okay as it mostly adds a few new keys/events or edits schedules to visit its new locations or whatnot
But it's something you'd check on the SVE side about since it is what will be touching the most content
(also just to clarify, SVE doesn't do anything with the farm/greenhouse by itself! that's an optional download of IF2R on the download page. You don't have to use it)

Nope, Immersive Farm 2 Remastered is a separate download that changes the standard farm/greenhouse/farm cave etc.
You can just use a vanilla farm or any custom one you want, and they would probably be fine.
It's just when people want to use the farm and then change the areas it comes with that it gets complicated, since the farm/greenhouse/cave/blah are meant to be used together...

Hey! I use the CJB item spawner and the CJB cheats menu, and according to every site i look at, they should work on multiplayer. and friends on mine have confirmed this. But theres a problem. . . Whenever i go to the co-op menu, there is no "join online game" option, and when I try to host, there are no options for multiplayer, and no buttons to send an invite code. Does anyone have any idea why?

You could still try connecting via IP if the host also does port forwarding stuff, but the invite codes and "join friend" options go through Steam/Galaxy

Yes, they all three go in the mods folder. The config.json will be in the [CP] Immersive Farm 2 Remastered folder, and you can o pen it with any text editor.

In this case because animals haven't changed much, it would probably be okay as long as you installed it right, but because it is easy to install wrong, it doesn't show up in the log, you have now changed game files etc, we still don't recommend it. You can check for alternatives at this page though, sorry for only semi relevant command but browser won't open

See I'm all for it. I've also been doing a thing with my playthroughs where each better tier of footwear I add 1 speed boost per. So Space boots give 4 speed. Helps speed things up.
Might even try prismatic tools with that. I think the prismatic sprinkler is compatible with better sprinklers.
