You need to take the pngs out of the DCburgers and put them in a folder inside portraiture. You do that for every set of portraits you download

I have 280 mods.. medival builldings etc. but now when i start a game.. the large stumps and large logs are not visible, but you can walk through.. does anyone recognize this?

Hey guys, I'm still troubleshooting this crash I started having yesterday. I updated margo, played a few days without issue, and now I crash to desktop either right before/right after the day starts or as the day is loading with no errors in smapi. I triple-checked margo mod compatibility and I can't find anything there. Installing FastLoads actually got the day to start and I was able to start playing, but when I tried to re-enable Automate from gmcm, it crashed to desktop and now the crash is happening again even with Automate completely removed. I've also tried reverting my save to the previous day which didn't help. I don't know what could be causing this other than updating margo, is it really safe to load my save with only margo and SpaceCore as described on the GitHub to check for mod conflicts? I'm especially concerned about loading it without Grandpa's Farm and the expansions as I'm married to Sophia. Yes it is. I've tried this day at least a dozen times and there's never a crash in the log. I also noticed that sometimes the log shows it's doing different things in its final moments. I can generate more logs or screen record what it looks like if that helps. There's a sound that plays like I'm getting a ton of level ups at once, I definitely thought Automate and my crab pots were responsible, but now it's happening even with the Automate folder deactivated

Sorry I've never used powershell before. The error says "Fatal error. System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt." There's a bunch of stuff after it if that would help as well
That's probably just the Alpha versions, no need to worry about those
As long as it is currently working, you can ignore the out-of-date mods unless there's issues
(SMAPI shouldn't show update alerts for alpha versions unless you already have a prerelease version, or the installed mod is broken, or the alpha version doesn't have a prerelease version tag.)

If it says requiring, it means SVE or whatever mod you're using is the dependency that enables the mod to run. The required files are what to use.
Yes, if you don't extract them into the Mods folder, the game cannot read the mods. But always read the mod page description.

Using Vortex Mod Manager with Stardew Valley has the risk of your mods not getting installed properly, and other issues. Consider doing manual mod installation or using Stardrop, a mod manager that was purpose built for SDV, instead!

Anyways, if you download and extract all of the required files into your Mods folder as separate mods, then download SVE and extract it, it should work.
Those dependencies that SVE requires are used by almost all other mods in the game too, so it's good practice to keep track of them if you find other mods with the same dependencies not to immediately download something you already have (Have multiple copies of the same mod in your folder will stop it from running, and with frameworks that causes a cascade of errors to follow suite.)

Hi everyone. I was hoping I could get some help with Vibrant Pastoral. I went on a mod downloading spree yesterday and now VPR no longer works. I'm assuming there is a conflict with a tilesheet mod somewhere but was hoping someone could quickly peruse and point me in the right direction. My SMAPI log isn't helping to narrow it down. Anyone know anything about a glitch where spouses get stuck at the bus stop for the whole day? I tried using the hurry command to get them to where they need to be but they were still stuck there.

We do not know of a specific timeline for any update to any mod, expansion or otherwise, but rest assured mod authors have been given access to a build of 1.6 without content changes with which to make updates to help mod updates be ready for release day. If a mod you use is not ready for release day, please do not harass the mod author to update - mod authors are people who may have other time commitments and cannot immediately update their mods.
If you have questions as to whether a particular mod will be ready for release day, it is best to ask the mod author themselves. Please keep in mind a lack of response does not necessarily mean the mod is being abandoned - the mod author may not have time to respond or is hard at work behind the scenes. Most major mods will likely have an update prepared for 1.6 on or near release.

its saying my json manifest isnt in my folder but it is. ive tried deleting and redownloading the file but it didnt work. that log is the one i just took
That's JsonAssets. That's a different mod entirely from the ones erroring.
All Stardew Valley mods need a manifest.json and your Farm Type Manager and one of your SVE components are missing theirs

It seems to me that everyone you extract the mods in the manifest files are removed. Are you manually downloading them from Nexus, and making sure you aren't clicking vortex download?

Basically Smapi's file path is looking for a Mods folder, not a Stardew Mods Folder, hence the issues.

The most you would do is have to reset and reverify your files.
You completely uninstall both mods, make sure you download them again, and extract them to your folder.
I would consult the mod page, I actually don't know off the top of my head. If you extract everything into your mods folder, smapi will tell you if something is missing.

So, Krobus's Sprites literally get split in half. his head is detatched and is on the floor, or his body simply disappears and you see his head on the floor, as if he has been burried alive.

In the interim, I tried updating Custom Wedding Attire, as the log indicated it might be causing problems. I put it back to 1.0.2 since my version of SMAPI was incompatible with the newer version of the mod.

This usually is an indication of a missing key string. Reverify your files, you'll have to re-download smapi and reinstall it.

The out of date mod that Governor is referencing is Customize Wedding Attire. It's not technically out of date.
Is there anything else that I should look for? It seems like it's a furniture item causing the issue, but I can't tell which mod is causing the issue.

try disabling this one then disable them in groups of 5 or 10 to narrow it down.
I did that previously and the issue persisted, but I'll try again.
(Sorry, been looking into it a bit more and I think it might be an issue with rustic country town interiors no longer being compatible with SVE as it hasn't been updated to reflect new map interiors)
(But as I am on mobile, it's slow to parse through rn and suss out the culprit. The only other explanation is that something was deleted before the issues started.)

I did try that, however removing DGA and the Pink Furniture Mod seems to have fixed it!

If I understood the log right, the game was attempting to render a piece of furniture in the farmhouse, but couldn't.
Yeah, hence my initial "key2 generic string means something isn't loading and the game is hyperfixating on loading it."
This does not, in fact, happen with 99% of dga mods.
I figured that was the case. Curiously, it was not an issue until near the end of Summer Year 1.
Which is why I assumed either missing files or an xnb installed, improperly overwriting a vanilla asset.
(I do see the layout is incredibly weird for the file path on my phone. I'll have to download it later on my laptop.)
I think it may have been an improperly overwritten asset, now that you mention it, but I'm not sure what asset specifically.
However, I'm not really a programmer, so I don't think I can get more specific than that.

update for posterity in case anyone else is having the same issue. I deleted HxW tilesheets and Rustic Country Interiors and VPR still isn't working. I over-wrote the VPR SVE files using the edits in the comments of the VPR SVE mod. I also downloaded RPT VPR Extended, ES add on, and the config mod and VPR is still not working both in the interior and out. Kind of at a loss now.
Run "install on Windows.bat" (if Command Prompt) or ./"install on Windows.bat" (if PowerShell or Windows Terminal //// how do I word it? I'm in power shell and it's saying "the term /"install window.bat" is not recognized

Yar, apparently it's not that another mod is editing the maps over VPR. It's that VPR somehow just stops editing maps.
So if the error happens due to a conflicting mod, it's not necessarily an aesthetic mod.

I know that this'd be pretty tedious but unless somebody else have specific insight on this, all I have to suggest is to do the half-and-half mod testing thing.
In that you enable just half of your mods, then if VPR still works then the problem is with the other half. Then you enable half of that half and so on.

Sometimes mods get flagged by overzealous antiviruses. If you're really worried about viruses in mods you can:
- download from Nexus or Moddrop, which check all files for viruses automatically
- preview the file contents on Nexus to see what you're downloading (content packs containing only images and json files are highly unlikely to be viruses)
- view the source code for most C# mods on Github by going to smapi.io/mods and checking the advanced options
- download and compile the source code yourself

Hey I am new here and just started modding. I have some retexture mods and they only seem to work sometimes. For example I could put down two boxes and one would be vanilla texture, the other replaced with the retexture. Is there a way to fix this?
if you are using Alternative Textures, that is intended behavior (randomizing the texture that each item uses)
you should be able to turn it off in the config, if memory serves
and/or you can use the AT items to change each item manually to taste

Install ADB on your PC, kick the phone into developer mode, connect with a cable and then push the file into an available directory on your phone. Download an APK installer to install the APK. (Google for how to do each of those things.) If you're running a recent version of Android you'll need ADB Shell to access the zane directory you need for mods anyway.

I'm running like 30 right now. It's super weird because some run on some phones and not others. https://android.stardew.rocks/ helps but for example on my phone I can't run anything that adds too many maps (so, no SVE.) IMO it's all worth it for Automate, though, the single best QOL mod in the game.

What does that mean 
If you're modding Android, you need a copy of the base 1.5.6.39 game, which no one here will get you; as well as a second Android app, which is the SMAPI installer. Running that second Android app generates a third app, which is the modded game.
This goes to show how little I understand about this tech stuff

Hey all, a question regarding a modded Multiplayer playthrough I'm doing with a friend, notably regarding the MARGO and SVE mods:
We've just managed to get into Treasure cave in the crimson badlands, for completing the valor part of Blade of Ruin, but only I (as the host) got that part updated and my friend as the farmhand didn't, is there any way I can solve this? Maybe through updating his quest stages through the SMAPI console?
Technically, Stardew is fine with it and SAAT flips out
Smapi is telling me that DLLs either don't exist or could not be loaded - I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the mods, but the error persists, along with a few invalid manifest errors

Using Vortex Mod Manager with Stardew Valley has the risk of your mods not getting installed properly, and other issues. Consider doing manual mod installation or using Stardrop, a mod manager that was purpose built for SDV, instead!

I deleted all the mod folders for the mods with errors, then proceeded to delete every instance of the file marked "__folder_managed_by_vortex" and manually reinstalled the aforementioned errant mods, and now it runs with no errors in SMAPI 👌🏼 thanks for the help!

Beaaaautiful, so npm did install. Try and convert something. A shirt, hat, hair. Note, if doing anything with Delloti it'll need to be translated first.

Translator batch should be fine, I think that was the easiest one for me to follow because I had most things it asked for already installed (plus some come packaged with Python)

make some command.txt files to help speed up the process, it'll make your life a lot easier when you go to convert things. At least we know npm is installed, in fact that was definitely my problem and it was my husband who said "Did you check for a version?"

Hey I have an error pop up every time I try to download the newest smapi and I have no idea what to do

You should not see the normal Stardew Valley chicken if you're running modded

Second, you need to install it to your steam copy
I'll bet that perms denied thing is because it's going to the wrong folder at this point

You gotta put in those launch options that you were given at the "SMAPI is installed!" screen.

These launch options also need to include the whole thing, including the quotation marks and the %command%

You have options if you are worried that the update to 1.6 will break your modded save.

Copy and move your game folder to a new location on your computer and launch SDV directly from that new location. For easier access, pin the new location to your favorites or create a shortcut to the .exe file on your desktop!

Rename the game folder to "Stardew Valley 1.5.6" and launch SDV directly from that new location. NOTE: You will not be able to play through Steam anymore unless you also set up the game + SMAPI as a non-Steam game method, so keep that in mind if you care about total playtime hours or achievements.

I realize we just got it working, buuuut I'd still recommend that prior to 1.6
How do I get the XNB file to work on a Windows 10? I can't find the StardewValley.exe file at all

I tried that, but I can't find the Exe file. Do I have to put them in the file? Or can they go in content patcher?
