your old one that you're using to revert? No, that won't be read
old is there as a backup, so the game doesn't read it, just creates it in case the user needs to travel back in time

Hey guys I'm trying to repeat a modded event i have on vortex by using the event repeater mod and I'm not too sure on how I use it. Was hoping any of you had any advice or guide on how to find and use the event repeater.

if you're planning on repeating an event manually, you'll want to debug ebi <eventid>, where <eventid> is the id of the event you want to repeat.

realistically speaking, you trawl through the files to find it, or Event Lookup will give it in the top left corner when you look at a specific heart event (as well as on the events list itself for an NPC, assuming it's a heart event)
I can potentially cut out the middleman though

Generic Mod Config Menu (or GMCM https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5098) adds the option to edit some, but not all, mod configs from either the title screen or the options page in a save. It also has a special screen to edit keybinds for all mods with GMCM integration.
The presence of the gear it adds to the title screen is not a method for checking whether mods are installed, only whether GMCM is installed.
I assume you have that, so I assume you can alter the config.

specifically the day the event happens on
Gotta click on the character in social menu, hit "events" in the bottom left, then search through the ones you've seen pretty much
you'll then have to cross-reference that with the files
Is it annoying? yes. That said, if you took a log from when you had seen the event originally, since you had event repeater it might have at least listed what event was going at that point.
so you might be able to use that to see it
Unfortunately i don't think I have the log unfortunately. However I'm willing to locate it. When i do find the id i just input the debug command and the id debug ebi <eventid> into the SMAPI menu to perform the command? or is it an in game command I can run?

Does anybody know if casks will take wine from a chest with automate to improve the quality of the wine?
I have a chest that all the cask products go in automatically that I told it to take from first. I also put coffee beans in there lol but it seems like it only wants to take from the coffee beans.
Does it go alphabetically?

also, is anyone else having an issue with the latest chests anywhere update and dressers? for me the dresser is no longer showing up as a dresser menu and is instead showing as a regular chest menu if i am scrolling through the chests, and im not sure if its a bug with the mod itself or something in the update not playing nice with one of my other mods

correct, MissCaitlyn. right now I'm trying to figure out what other mods might be messing with special orders
To sum up your issue and why it's taking so long, MissCaitlyn:
- The Special Orders board refreshes every monday, meaning on the 1st you're supposed to get a new special order
- Someone has edited a special order or added a new one that is making your game very angry
- Only SVE adds Special Orders via CP per your log
- This means a C# mod is likely adding a bad special order
massive eyesore. this didnt happen last time. wonder if it has to do with the sve earthy recolor waterfall texture fix and maybe it clashes with npc map locations somehow?
and how i can fix it or which mod can i remove it?

help, I accidently uninstalled smapi, and reinstalled it again, I had my save files and tried recovering it back but it still says I'm on year 1 with all my progress gone when Im already should be on year 3

Hi, im having issues with the chest anywhere mod. I just updated it. The key to open was B but now when i press it im only getting the calender. In the config file it also says the key to open is B. Not sure why its doing that

When two mods both edit dialogue or images, whichever mod loads last "wins" and is the one you see in the game. It looks like you may need to reassign the hotkey for chests anywhere, since you have a mod that's making B be the calendar button
Chests Anywhere is loading and no errors in this log

the other issue i had with it, is when i was in a chest, if i tried to select another chest, nothing would happen

good god i am losing my mind
i uninstalled hats wont mess up hair ages ago, but the behaviour of the mod is still in my game and i have no idea why
i started this save without it but my hair is still unaffected by all hats, leaving me with some frankly ridiculous clipping issues

you can craft casks! you just need to upgrade your house and get a cellar to unlock the recipe

Yeah so according to her modded Skyrim install of hers is 196 GB (183 GB mods, 13.3 GB install plus mods that don't use Vortex)

If you had been crashing to desktop, it'd be "oh no"

What is graphical? Like, the mods to change the looks?
SpriteMaster gives performance improvements, but also includes graphical changes that are under the umbrella of resampling
You can turn off the graphical smoothing effect
It makes your game look "smoother" for lack of a better word
That's why I add "disable resampling if you don't like the graphical changes", because you can get the performance improvements without the graphical changes
How do I turn those off?

Generic Mod Config Menu (or GMCM https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5098) adds the option to edit some, but not all, mod configs from either the title screen or the options page in a save. It also has a special screen to edit keybinds for all mods with GMCM integration.
The presence of the gear it adds to the title screen is not a method for checking whether mods are installed, only whether GMCM is installed.

I've been trying to set up some mods on my phone to play at work (Android). Despite smapi showing my mods in the folder in it's config when I launch the game it only loads the two mods it comes with. anyone have any ideas what I'm doing wrong or if it just won't work on Android?
They change the directory of the mods folder in to android/data/com.zane.stardewvalley
So make a folder with that title in my Android/data folder and place mods in there?

What file manager do you use
I was using the one that came with Google, I just downloaded total commander to access the data section
Open your file manager or you can use z archiver tap the android file and go to data file and there you can find the file named com.zane.stardewvalley
In Google files it appeared empty, with total commander I see a few files from different apps but not one with that name or any relating to stardewvalley

I've noticed that whenever I make a new or have a pre-existing save it duplicates, it's the exact same save meaning whatever I do to one of them (save it, delete it, etc) it does to the other. I have 4 saves so it's actually 8 that's the exact same thing and I'm not sure if it's a glitch but it's definitely annoying 💔 here's my log:

Hi @worthy moth so sorry to bother but I just found a bit of an issue with the shopping cart mod. I just unlocked the sewer and bought the stardrop from Krobus but I didn't actually get to eat it. I ended up restarting the day without the mod and was able to get the stardrop. Idk if this has ever been reported but I didn't see it on nexus or mentioned in this discord. ❤️

How... how did you manage to use Vortex AND Curseforge?
I use Curseforge for minecraft, and I saw that they had SDV compatibility, so I was just browsing mods on there and it installed bookcase, and I installed a couple other mods but I forgot what they were lol

I have cruse-forge as well for MC mods, but I highly suggest you stick to manually adding your mods to Stardew, if you do need a mod manager there's one called Stardrop that was made for Stardew. You can connect it to your nexus account and if you have premium nexus you can have it auto-update your mods

hello, this is my stardrop log file. i played with some mods today as well as downloaded stadrop today. my character now can't run anymore, only walk slownly. this wasn't the whole time i was playing, only after i got a slowness debuf from i think a monster. i went to bed and it hadnt gone since. however, when i make a new save, i walk slowly there aswell. can anyone help me with fixing this issue?
just a guess that is probably won't be the reason, can you check you have auto run turned on in your game settings?

I did rename my folder to let steam not update to 1.6, now when I'm trying to connect to a local game it just says "Connecting..." I'm not sure if it's due to the renaming of the folder or a mod that I installed, I just installed a couple of mods. Host works fine tho. It stops with "connection failed".

Hey I keep getting the same error over and over again and I'm not sure what to do I've uninstalled and reinstalled smapi aswell as taken out and put back in mods to see which might be messing with it to no avail. My friend who has the same mods that I'm playing with is playing just fine.

Periodically, when I go to start Stardew, it crashes after loading. However, it doesn't save the crash info to the log. Since it only happens on startup, it hasn't been a major issue, but I managed to catch the error on a screenshot the other day. As I said, this does not show up in the log, even with trace level, (I have checked) so the screenshot is the only way to share the error.
I have made it as readable as possible

And or Does one of the platonic/best friend mods allow you to designate a bed? probably, i played with a lot of new mods for this challenge called One Life Challenge today. but I'm not sure how or why I got this, I thoughnt it might have been that i got hit wit an enemies slowess debuf and it just glitched and didnt go away anymore. whatever it is, i have no idea how to get rid of it

the game considers Krobus to be a roommate, so unlike a spouse, he doesn't require a double bed; i'm actually not sure krobus gets in bed at night at all and i don't know of a mod that lets you designate a specific bed for an NPC, but in any case it should be sufficient to replace your double bed with two single beds and sleep in whichever one he doesn't take
this has worked for me in playtesting the roommate function in PPaF, and that taps into the same roommate gameplay mechanism that Krobus uses
if krobus were considered a spouse, he would get mad unless you had a double bed, and you'd basically have to leave the double bed to him and have your own single bed, but being roommates makes two single beds possible

yeah there might be something like a "roommate romance" setting that either you have to turn off or is off by default

I feel that. I have specific runs and how I do it because I have a large like... Base group of mods and don't wanna have to update the same mod in more than one place, I have a folder for each run and put the character specific mods in their named folder, then Put a period at the beginning of the characters I'm not playing. So like on my Naga run I've got RomRas and Yandere Elliot along with a different mod for Elliot's portraits.
you can add smapi as non-steam game so you don't have to add launch option onto sdv (assuming you're on windows)
But I'm also dinking around in my mods folder all the fluffin time... so I don't expect anyone else to wanna do things the way I do when there is an easier way.

Ahhh, white screen. This means your definition of crash is likely off
So please, tell us in more detail about the crash
(It's also possible it's the other white screen crash, but unlikely)
I tried to reinstall the game as well and now I get "disk damaged", and it is the only game that gives me this problem.
This is on Android btw, I had to reinstall smapi again and everytime I launch, it shows a white screen for about a sec and then it would bring me back out of the app
Android SMAPI does not currently work for SDV 1.5.6.61. We do not know if or when it will be made compatible.
Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a solution.
If you find a mod bug on Android, first make sure that:
a) you have the latest SMAPI version from https://github.com/ZaneYork/SMAPI-Android-Installer/releases;
b) you have the latest mod version(s) or have the last-known Android-compatible version;
c) and the mod author hasn't already addressed it on the mod page (e.g. via an Android-specific version or comments).

I remember being able to play it functionally well, the same versions of both sdv and smapi but idk what happened when I reinstalled it

Stardew mods just aren't that big
if you manage to get 100GB on SDV mods, you're gonna have lots of music mods
It didn't help, but deleting the game files in the ''commons'' folder I realized that it won't let me delete the ''contents'' folder saying that there is an error and that the folder is corrupt:
ah ok thats what i also thought id presume it wasnt going to be huge since stardew vallery isnt that intensive

It is worth clarifying that all the files inside that folder are ''.xnb'' and it is part of the error that I got in SMAPPI.IO, I am thinking that updating the drivers corrupted the files only for Stardew Valley
Oh...well uhm.....yeah i don't know. is the game still in your steam? You might have to try verifying the stardew files
I seem to have broken one of my favorite mods when I used it on the Steam Deck, then tried to use it on PC
the key binding no longer works and no matter what binding I set it to, nothing works

I did
then open your save, try to use the mod and then send a new log
I sent that just now with the game open after trying to use the mod
should I save for the day and then send the log again?

temporarily disabling it? like putting all the stuff in other chests (since Chest Ex makes chests bigger), moving the folder out of Mods, and then putting it back?
nope. Flat out disabling the mod i.e. putting a period in front of it, then loading the file
so I'd have to choose..
If you want bigger chests, why not use Better Chests?
I never said to keep it disabled, just temporarily disable and retry
if it works, then congratz, ChestEx is your problem, use better chests

hi, im using mrtaiyou's strange machines and i'm getting an error message. it seems to not be affecting game play but its still a concern. i know the mod is no longer being maintained by the creator but i'm hoping someone familiar w modding can help me with a simple fix. the error is
[Content Patcher] Can't apply image patch "(CP) Strange Machines > Seasonal Fertilizer Maker - Crop" to TileSheets/Craftables: target area (X:112, Y:1376, Width:32, Height:32) extends past the right edge of the image (Width:128), which isn't allowed. Patches can only extend the tilesheet downwards.
that doesn't seem like a simple fix, unfortunately
if I'm reading that error right, it's due to the Machine sheet being too large for the target Tilesheet
Which means you're going to have to do file editing even I'd be scared of

my partner just got into sdv modding and their game is running incredibly slow and its hard to even walk around,, what can we do to speed up the game?

Initial mod loading can take time - just let SMAPI do its thing.
it never took that long for me so i was really surprised
it was incredibly laggy too

8 is usually the very least we recommend for ideal play
Oh, that is way below the recommended amount
4Gb of RAM is perfectly fine for many computing needs. Not gaming, though.
(its fine for stardew since thats a lightweight game, but modding is different and requires more RAM)

I think my game has just died on me. I was playing and I got the black screen of death. I forced the game to close and now when trying to load, everything single mod is red on the SMAPI loading I have no idea why, I have moved non of my mods
