there's some people who do, it does depend on your computer specs
It will cause some other warnings but probably fix it, idk why it makes changes, you might run into other issues. you could edit your comment to censor the NSFW mod name, but it's probably fine. just a warning not to discuss + if you get any detailed issues with any NSFW mods unfortunately we can't really help here.

hey! my screen has been at the smpai loading screen for almost 5min. I have ovr 100 mods and it usually loads everything under a minute. I am not sure if one of the new mods I downloaded today are having issues? (I did make sure the ones I downloaded were compatible)

Hi! Since yesterday I can't progress to a new day in my modded game file. I have updated all my mods, uninstalled and reinstalled smapi a lot of times (and everytime smapi log parser says I don't have error handler, but I do. This has been an error since I first installed smapi so..).
Still I can't go on to another day. I tried doing nothing and saving, buying house upgrades and not buying it, etc and saving, etc. but it always leads to a bunch of red text on my console. It says something about Custom Fixed Dialogue, but unfortunately I need it for some of my beloved East Scarp NPCs.

There is something wrong with a dialogue somewhere
it's hard to tell whether it's CFD or just a bad content pack somewhere or what
but first of all, re-installing errror handler would be a good idea

But I already tried doing that so many times and installed and re-installed smapi so many times. I did it yesterday, it always says I don't have Error Handler. But I'll try that again
I think a content pack could cause the error you're getting, in theory
it's hard to tell, but reading the relevant code it looks like it could be looking for a portrait beyond what exists, for example
the last CP mod I installed was the RSV Seasonal Outfits one, afaik

The latest released version of PPJA (Project Populate Json Assets, a popular mod) is a conversion from JA to DGA, but it has some bugs in it, and the mod author has retired. Sticking with the older JA version is probably your best option.
You can download the JA version from the Old Files section on Nexus, or by downloading the latest versions of the standalone components instead of the megapack (except for Farmer to Florist, where you would need to look under Old Files in the standalone version).

The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false
Two questions: When I had the originial PPJA and not DGA it kept saying error that the DGA folders weren't there or empty or something like that even though I didn't download that version. So could you possibly show me a link so I know I'm downloading the correct version? And with PyTK, how do I do that, what you are telling me? As in all mods should have a manifest. json folder in it that I change to false? I'm not tech savvy.
Interesting, this made so that I can get to another day, but now the error is different. It's a || Phoebe || error from the mod "Travelling Dreamer"
For PyTK - just delete the mod. IF any other mods then show an error, you can edit their individual manifest.json to remove the dependency. Every mod has a manifest.json
it's the same error, but now it's written more clearly actually hah. And it doesn't crash my game.

As for PPJA - just follow the advice in the command Vin linked.

It's failing in the GameLoop.Saved Event, so I would disable, if only to reduce lag, etc.

Back again, new issue this time. Multiplayer modded, when my farmhand enters the game, my game crashes. The assets on the farm disappear and the game just ends itself. I removed an outdated mod yesterday and the game was working fine, just loaded it up today and the same crash started happening.

only "outdated" mod is stardew notification, which I've updated to the most recent
Adopt n Skin is causing the crash. It's notoriously buggy, so I would advise removing it.

It might in that the animals won't be there, but at least you'll be able to play. Your farmhand should remove the mod as well.

Hello. I've been playing a modded game with a couple friends for almost a full season. Suddenly one player is getting error spam and then crashes.
He gets the same issues with a brand new game I host on day 1.
I looked at the errors and the GitHubs they come from, and it looks like Game1.player is null or things pulled off it are null.
Is this where I can ask for help?
EDIT: He gets the same issues in singleplayer now.
EDIT2: This seems to be the line that is causing the problem. I think the Skills.GetSkill is coming back null

yes, that is their log. It's not specific to that mod. I tried removing it and a different one fails for a similar reason

You guys are using Walk of Life - Immersive Professions, which is outdated. The new thing from that author is MARGO, which is on the Github
That messes with skills, which eventually fucks with things down the line.

in your log, it will regularly report on how much time it takes to do vcarious tasks for different mods
you can then identify which are the slowest

Both mods that have had problems have been "bars" related
They are at this point able to play fine (so far), but I'll have him see if it gives any errors after removing that
strange that the bar mods just don't work on only his computer

with automate im looking to link up multiple sheds into 1 network is it possible the connector pathway work inside and outside the shed? like pathway>door>outside>door>inside shed 2?
I don't believe this is possible - each "shed" is a separate map and path connectors may not work to connect them. If you want to check this, you could enable Automate's overlay by pressing U.

I have a question about the automate mod. If I replace the keg I covered in pink with a chest and loaded it with whatever crop I want in the kegs, would it fill all of these kegs because they’re connected? And would they all go back into the chest when it’s done? I’m not sure how the mod works

Hello , I got a rather strange bug. Playing with a pletoria of mods and started a new safe with among them MARGO and Wildflour's Megapack. Funny thing is that, with MARGO's combat module enabled Wildflour's forage is changed into cooked dishes, so I pick a tomato salsa from a wild strawberry bush for example. Stuff reverts back to what it normal should be if I disable combat in MARGO. Enabling it again changes stuff even in my chests. I gess this is the famous Json shuffle. Any way I can stop this besides disabling combat in margo?

Ok so i did a farmer-farmhand switch on a co op file and now I appear to be the parent of both my farmer's baby and the original farmer's (now farmhands) baby. I have been switched over to the farmhouse but my baby is still living in my original cabin. The original farmers baby is now in the farmhouse with me. Both children are listed in my social as having hearts and I can give them both hearts once a day. How do I get them both living in the farmhouse with me?

I searched everywhere on what to do regarding farmer/farmhand co op switches
It's not causing any issues with SMAPI or anything as it is unrelated to any actual mods. rather it is a modded save file
How can I solve this?
The only thing I can think of is that your child, as the original farmhand, will always show as another player's child. I don't know how you would move them.

Unlike spouses and farmers, who can have specific pathing.
You would have to remove one of the farmhouse children and edit your save to move your kid. I don't recommend tinkering in your save files.

well, i had not planned on them quitting. that was out of my hands, there was some kind of drama that went on behind the scenes i was unaware of. i had put a lot into my farmer on that co op and they were very kind to give me a save file copy

and there must therefore be some indicator in the save file
You can dove all the kids and start new, or you can mess about in the code to try to create your own fix. Again, not recommended, because there is more at play than just where the kids are hardcoded to live.
I mean, it's probably not well documented, wynn. Mainly because again, this doesn't really happen often

The workbench, for whatever reason, seems to not be detecting any chests, not even the ones it should in vanilla
I have both Better Crafting and Better Chests, but they say they're compatible with each other. I checked the harmony summary and those (+ kokoro) are the only mods that patch it
ah, nvm, I figured it out. you have to set Better Chests' setting to "Default"
i just realised if i move my baby to the farmhouse he'll be in the same crib as the other baby. so i thnk ill play this out till he ages out of the crib then do the switch
but i did find the place where they are hardcoded to either a cabin or the farmhouse.
Glad you got it sorted, because with all those "better" references, it would have been fun to figure out.

Accidentally skipped it, but still got the options. Chose mushrooms, figured it was fine, didn't double check since I was vaguely multi-tasking at the time. Finally hit up the cave several in game days later and it's empty.
Any ideas on how to force it, or am I outta luck?

Nope, no boxes. The option popped up after the skip during the black screen, which is why I figured it would be fine, just forgot to check before it hit 2am.

iirc, the event occurs at game day start and requires you to have 25000 gold in inventory. So on a new game day, before leaving the farmhouse, open your SMAPI console window and enter this:

OMG - the S key should be coded as a movement key - but do you have GMCM? You can check which hotkeys do what if you have it.

Event Repeater. It was Event Repeater... It's supposed to only work with LAlt+S, but it was working regardless of LAlt.

I think I've seen a similar problem being reported to one of my mods but I just marked it off as an EML thing, never actually solved it so I'd also be interested in seeing your bug fixed. 
Remove TXML if you have that, add spritemaster if you don't have that. If neither of those fix it, you're out of luck

Question about custom items and the automate mod. I noticed that some mods that can be put in various machines like a seed maker keg etc work fine when I put them in a chest so they can automatically load and unload themself, but some of them don’t do that. To be clear I think one of my mods that has a special kind of milk that can be put in the cheese press, it won’t automatically leave the chest and go into the cheese press but I think it actually still does collect in the chest by itself if I remember correctly. How could I fix this?
is the special cheese mod using Producer Framework Mod to make machines work? if so, do you have PFMAutomate installed?

Ok so I have the “Monster Crops” mod installed. Basically you can grow monster drops and if you put different items (such as bat wings) into a seed maker it is not supposed to give you the “bat wing seeds” but makes tree fertilizer (and so on, slime in seed maker gives you retaining soil etc). This works as intended when I manually load the seed makers, I get tree fertilizer like I’m supposed to. But when I put the wings in the chest to automatically load them, it makes the bat wing seeds
Does the android mobile version of smapi differentiate between smartphones and tablets or is it fine as long as the system is the same? I want to start looking into adding mods on my tablet but I just wanted to check first

Update: I got it to work! Both my babies are under the same roof now. It involved snipping out the child's NPC info from the cabin and placing it in the farmhouse area instead
They sleep in the crib together, but that didn't make it glitch out or anything
farmhouse is still wonky but that's because I didn't get upgrades done yet

we have two mods that pause the time, one that pauses at 06 am and 01:00 and other that pauses when both of us press ESC

just type exactly that, e.g. debug ebi 73864 and the event will play
just note that you cannot be in the map where the event takes place
progress is saved on your save file, so it doesn't matter if you delete everything, which is what you should do
the only file you can keep is the config.json
when i try replaying events it just repeats the first line over and over.

Need mod help please. So, I downgraded to the previous SMAPI version, and readded Sprite Master back in...however, now the game loads quickly again but once I load into my save, it doesn't let me move my character with my controller and once I try to use my controller the game freezes. Before trying to use the controller when I'm looking at my screen and the game has loaded in, the game seems to be moving incredibly slowly (money loading in slowly, fireplace crackling slowly, etc.). I've uploaded my error log below if you or anyone can help.

you dont have to unpack them
but you do have to enable a plugin in tiled for it to be able to open tbins

so for one it needs to be updated, that could be a possible issue. the core framework mods as well.
yeah ok, i see the probem. you seemed to have installed all the frameworks needed for both mods a second time. the thing with frameworks, is if one mod tells you to download it, you dont need to download it again when a different mod says its required

you will need another mod as well called reset terrain features, it would be best to pick up anything you have on your map before switching or you'll need noclip too. honestly noclip is probably needed in general.
it actually worked almost fine. I have two problems. I got the Capitalist Dream Farm map, and now two of my iridium apple trees are floating in water, and further, I can't get the "clean" version of the map to load, only the decorated version. are there any mods that would allow me to maybe build into water? or allow me to move the trees? and any ideas on how to get the "clean" map layer to be the one loaded instead of the "decorated" one?

SpriteMaster (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4922) is a mod that resamples the game's graphics to be smoother and improves performance. It is highly configurable and you can choose which options to enable.
I am shocked that any of this even worked in the first place, so unfortunately we are unlikely to have answers. this log in particular is just having a really bad time in the netcode somewhere, which is usually a mismatch in mods but with the code base itself being different between android and PC I wouldn't be surprised if it's the game itself mismatched
Also the mobile multiplayer mod has gone through some very sketchy phases
heh, not surprised that the mobile mod is buggy. We had some fun for an hour at least

In general, you can figure out whether a mod is (most likely) to work with the current version of Stardew Valley based on its update date. This is not a guarantee things will work or not work, but is accurate for most mods.
- 2016: Do not install (meant for incredibly early versions of Stardew)
- 2017: Do not install (meant for pre-multiplayer Stardew)
- 2018: Unlikely to work. If a Content Patcher mod, it might work, but in general it is not likely the mod will work.
- 2019: Content Patcher mods can be tried from here fairly easily. C# mods should still be mostly avoided.
- 2020: Content Patcher mods should work, but may be buggy. C# mods may work, but due to the 1.5 update there may be conflicts.
- 2021+: Should be usable.
Night Owl hasn't been updated for 1.5.5, so I doubt it works...
But you could try?

It's hard to tell, but your Shop Tile Framework packs might conflict with each other by trying to add the same item multiple times.
You could try uninstalling some of those (temporarily) to see if it fixes the problem.
You can also fix Timsanity Market Day by installing this requirement, though I don't know if that affects the shop issue:
