Does Shop Tile Framework still work? I have it installed and it's depencies but mods that say they use it like garden town and the boarding house shop, their shops don't work. But there's no errors in my log about it. Except for a mention about depreciated code.

Anyone know if there is an updated version of the mermaid Old Mariner replacement mod? I tried one I found in the Nexus page comments but it still said incompatable. I miss my mermaids and hate the look of the old mariner. If not the mermaids is there maybe another mod that changes him?

Oh. Oh no. Yeah okay so here's the deal. Your mods are heavily mismatched, which means eventually you're going to run into bugs where a character cannot enter a map. This is why you need to have the same mods. One glaring one is that only one of you has PyTK
There's also custom companions/Ridgeside Rival Hearts, because the one (and probably the other) adds a Puppy eventually. This means technically one of you has more NPCs than the other
And that's definitely not allowed.
And honestly that's probably the tip of the iceberg.
Please correspond with each other and get the same mods. It should work then.

Hi everyone not sure if I am allowed to post again, but I now have 2 issues that don't work for me. One is the map file for Gregory's wife Laura, it says I don't have manifest.json. The second issue actually closes the game. When I enter Gus's saloon I get the below error. If there is anyone available to assist I would greatly appreciate it.

All other mods that Im paying attention to seem to be working. I did downgrade the Custom Chores mod it requires to 1.0 since some comments said that helped something or other. But didnt seem to do anything for me.

could be a malformed event. the log shows these mods editing the saloon events and any of them could be the problem: 23:58:15 TRACE SMAPI Content Patcher edited Data/Events/Saloon (for the 'Stardew Valley Expanded' content pack). 23:58:15 TRACE SMAPI Content Patcher edited Data/Events/Saloon (for the 'Ridgeside Village [Content Patcher component]' content pack). 23:58:15 TRACE SMAPI Content Patcher edited Data/Events/Saloon (for the '[CP] Date Night' content pack). 23:58:15 TRACE SMAPI Content Patcher edited Data/Events/Saloon (for the 'East Scarp NPCs' content pack). 23:58:15 TRACE SMAPI Content Patcher edited Data/Events/Saloon (for the 'Lunna - Astray in StardewValley' content pack).. you could also search for the event id 321719927 inside the json files of those mods and upload the event code to smapi.io/json (for example) so we can check it

Hello fellows, im back with the same problem as a couple of days ago: I downloaded Ridgside Village and all its required mods on pc, but on the smapi log, the proper ridgeside village mod does not appear and thus it doesnt work, anyone know how to fix this?

(it means that the error handler removed some references to those npcs from the save file because they don't exist in the game anymore, meaning whatever mod added them isn't adding them anymore)

Would reverifying my files on steam and then reinstalling all my mods fix the BAGI and better resources issue? I'm at my wit's end with it and nothing I've done has fixed it.
Would you have anything else editing your stuff? I went crazy trying to figure out why better resources wasn’t showing up because i know i didn’t download anything else for better resources.. come to find out a town over haul (completely unrelated to a resource mod) was editing my resources as well so maybe that could be it for you? Although i could be completely wrong in your case

Could be the same because i downloaded cuter crops mods and something else unrelated was editing my rabbits foot so it stayed a rabbits foot instead of candy.. had to figure out that something else was editing it too
All of the BAGI add-ons I have are in the same style.
So I shouldn't have any duplicates.

So I had this issue a while back since I've updated SMAPI, but all of my cutscenes are stuck focusing on the wrong part of the background. When I have a cutscene in the saloon (both modded and vanilla) it stays in the exact middle. Same with the library and Pierre's. It only started doing this after I updated SMAPI so I think that's the issue, but I'm not sure how to fix that since you need it to run mods

In general, when the error happens, just close the game afterwards, don't reboot it, then grab your log.

My guess is the PyTK version and the lunakatt DC Burger portraits don't play well with each other
I'd convert them to Content Patcher anyway because PyTK bad but still
The DcBurger portaits mod specifies it is the CP version, I do wonder while it also used PyTK. How would I do that?

(The PyTK component is for scaling. The DCburger portraits are larger than standard sized portraits, so they need to be scaled to work with the game)

Update all your mods. Delete any that are competing with SVE or delete SVE. Hell, you might even want to do a fresh install of any mods you actually want to keep, send us a log after loading your save once, and then maybe we can help you clear out the rest. But for right now, your save - and game - are outright impossible to fix in any semblance of a good time period.

but naturally it doesn't work because I did something wrong

SMAPI is literally "download, unzip, run installer". If you've ever like ever installed anything before it's about as easy as it gets

Have you tried YouTube videos? I’m a visual learner so sometimes when i read a ton of text the whole thing just get jumbled around in my head lol YouTube videos are step by step to better understand the process

I am having some weird issues with flowers changing their icons/descriptions to fruit or vegie ones or the icons just being messed up or looking like a seed bag(these sometimes don't even have a name) after being put in a chest. I noticed this after updating my JA to a version for "smolfixes"(was in the name in the manifest)(10.0.8, before it was 10.0.7) earlier. Sounds like you’re most likely experiencing some kind of json shuffle

Anytime you change your JA mods you can risk a shuffle. In multiplayer, you need to have exactly the same mods in exactly the same order as your friends.
Anytime you have a shuffle and then solve it, old objects may remain affected but new ones should be fine. You can sell or trash the old items, and spawn in new ones if needed with CJB item spawner.

It could have been. I'm not sure when it happened as I didn't know until I went to put some more flowers in that chest.
Just that it happened sometime between that time and the last time I had opened said chest as things were fine then.
Flowers were a known shuffle issue in the release version

So I updated a handful of mods. SVE, CJB cheats menu, among others. Loaded up my save and the warp locations menu only shows vanilla SV locations, nothing from SVE. Any ideas on how to fix this?

and now it thinks your whole mods folder is a mod

SMAPI can be downloaded from either its website or Nexus
PFM afaik is Nexus-only, so presumably you got it from there

Okay so not sure how to really explain this but for example, before opening my world, I load up my world in save editor and change my balance to 50k, and i give myself some tools then I press save and exit out. Now I load up the world in stardew valley and I venture out and meet soem npcs then I leave and save my progress then I re-open it again in stardew valley only to find out im back where I woke up at meaning my progress didn't save. I also am using SMPAI i'm not sure what the issue is.

there are mods that will allow you to safely add money + tools without editing your save and possibly corrupting it

The latest released version of PPJA (Project Populate Json Assets, a popular mod) is a conversion from JA to DGA, but it has some bugs in it, and the mod author has retired. Sticking with the older JA version is probably your best option.
You can download the JA version from the Old Files section on Nexus, or by downloading the latest versions of the standalone components instead of the megapack (except for Farmer to Florist, where you would need to look under Old Files in the standalone version).

Trying to figure out what's causing the miscolouring like in the examples here. There are other spots too, like the corners of a dirt area or a bush or 2. The colours out of place here look like the vanilla ones. I am using several sprite sheet changing and colour changing mods. I'm sure something is not covering the vanilla colours but am not sure what. My log is here(mainly to show the mods I use though it also shows the sprite sheets that keep filling it with warnings about them not using the right order for the sheets too). One of those, the farmhouse one, I posted on the Nexus site about it but have not heard back yet(and I am far from the only one who has done so there either).
The colour issues aren't a big deal play wise but do take from the immersion some.
either a tilesheet doesn't have the proper recolors (which is most likely the issue), or two things were overriding the Same Thing, which means it didnt get changed at all
I've probably still got some xmb stuff left in too but have no idea what they are now.
So it is a matter of figuring if 2 are overriding the same thing or not then. At least I only have a few that might be doing that, as far as I know anyway.
I think I've gotten most of what I used XMBs for switched over to CP now but I think there are a few left, just don't remember what they are to be able to finish the job.

I am very confused. I suddenly can't put bait in my crab pots! I was able to before but not now. It doesn't matter if I right or left click on the mouse, both just pick them up. I have no idea why this started happening. They are empty of both bait and items.

Hi Ive been using the "Eugene NPC - English Translation" https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/9222 with Stardew Valley Expanded, and a Custom NPC Eugene SVE Map Fix https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/13018 in order to fix his location so i can have him and SVE. I was also using Grandpa's Farm on this file which was working fine until the map fix and now is showing. Is there anyway I could fix this to have both of these mods running together?

When two mods both edit dialogue or images, whichever mod loads last "wins" and is the one you see in the game. Hi, I'm having trouble with my farmer freezing in the mines, while swinging the galaxy sword. it's happened in the regular mines & just now in the volcano cavern. Monsters attack, everything else goes on as expected. When I use CJB to warp out, my farmer is still stuck in position. nothing about the slingshot and the beeping noise tho 
continuation from a before, I got rid of the xnb file I could find, but my cutscenes are still off kilter but only in the first part. If it's a two part cutscene, the first part will always focus on the center of the map and then the second part will adjust, but I'm not sure how to fix it to go back to before. This happened after I updated SMAPI to the latest version so I don't know what else it could be

BAGI and Better Resources stopped working after I added a couple of mods and even after deleting them it stayed broken! I tried reinstalling the affected mods and still nothing!

OK so I suggest just playing with a new vanilla file for a bit. There's a fair amount of cut scenes in the first few days. This isn't a serious save file so I'd just like go to the beach on Day 2 after Willy sends you the letter... umm I think there's a cutscene at the Community Center on Day 5 when you walk into town after like 10 am
and if you want the Morris scene again I think it happens after 15 days so you could just keep going to sleep
basically we just are using this file to test whether this is a game problem or a SMAPI problem 🙂
Will do! the community center and Willy scenes were ok, so I'm not sure why the Saloon and store are problems for me

Hi Nicole, I tried doing it without my controller and it's still not showing me. I even downloaded the scepter mod to get there that way, finished the quest and never got the scepter. It's so annoying lol

I’m trying to install SMAPI on my steam deck so I can mod my game. It’s asking me to find the game directory path which is Stardew Valley.dll however when I copy and paste it to the konsole its telling me the directory does not exits. i’ve ran stardew valley before doing this and it’s also installed in my micro sd card, could that be the issue? was wondering if anyone knows how to solve it
Me again, sorry. I installed Cottagecore Fences however there's some issues with the correct fences/gates displaying and I am unsure why. Does any one have any ideas what could be causing vanilla fences to show up except for the stone walls?

The fences work now :D but the gates don't match to the fences like they're meant to

check Alternative Textures - that mod was randomazing my paths like crazy untill I disabled it via Generic config
yea AT has most textures set to random by default you should disable that, unless you want it that way

It states “Couldn’t find the game automatically. Type the file path to the game directory (the one containing Stardew Valley.dll), then press enter, when I do that it states that the directory does not exist. Im pretty sure it’s because it’s trying to find the directory from my drive and not my micro sd card

i can't even find a log anywhere, i searched my pc for %appdata%\StardewValley\ErrorLogs like how the log parser is supposed to work
also looked for "smapi crash" and "smapi latest"
while I understand your frustration, I think it's safe to say that there's no one around today who knows how to fix your issue, and you shouldn't keep putting off going to sleep. Also no one is required to help you and some of your requests are starting to feel a tad demanding, as though you're a paying customer and we're just purposely ignoring you or something. Please keep in mind that we're all just volunteers here, trying to have a good time.
hm, i'd hoped maybe removing then reinstalling smapi would help but it's still all weird :( like the game won't even launch for some reason

I'm not sure what the issue is, the not launching even without SMAPI is a bit concerning
If you've ever found your error log before, manually navigating to the area and screenshotting may provide more context
You may also want to screenshot your game folder to help confirm that SMAPI did properly reinstall
You can launch the game from the command line to get more context too

I'm not trying to come across as demanding... I'm just frustrated because this happened when all I wanted to do was to play normally and not just bail after the first 5 minutes because of bugs or problems. I thought I got rid of the bulk of the issues and then new ones come out of nowhere! And this time around I have no clue what caused it which is why I'm asking for help. I can't fix it without help, and although none of you are required to help me I would really appreciate it if someone would. I'm getting desperate and the longer I'm met with silence, the more stressed out and in turn upset I get. Yes, I have issues. I get upset when I feel like I'm being ignored and that is a problem I seem to have no control over. My motto is just to get it out of the way ASAP.
I thought I'd get help sooner since I provided Everything I thought would get me some help with this problem sooner, sticking with my motto to get it out of the way. A log, a patch summary, and springobjects which took me half an hour to get. I'm sure you can understand all my frustration.

i'm not super experienced, but the only cause i can logically imagine is that some other mod (or several) altering the same images are being loaded after bagi and better resources, causing them to be overwritten and therefore not taking effect
Based on reviewing the log, the best advice I can give is trial-and-error removal of these mods, if specifically Better Resources is having problems, probably removing the ones that come after it one by one.
Although I can say, it's unlikely to be Raffadax, that one edits like 4 specific items

For BAGI having problems, I'm really not clear on why it would do that
other mods overwriting them because they're being loaded after, that is
I've been told that multiple times already... Which is why I provided my springobjects and a patch summary.
If fixing it so Better Resources works again doesn't fix BAGI, more intensive mod removal/replacement searching would be needed
Most mods don't tag which parts of springobjects they edit
So a patch summary actually isn't all that helpful in some cases
like i said before: remove mods in groups, and see what gets changed

I would personally remove everything listed after Better Resources in the screenshot I sent
And check what it looks like then

If removing/replacing mods changed the load order (which is related to the file structure/alphabetical-ness) that would explain why putting in/removing mods could have this effect
yeah, doing it in groups would probably be easiest. you can also look at the log that elizabeth screenshotted, removing all the mods that show up AFTER better resources and/or bagi. if that works, there is a way to tell smapi to load all of those mods BEFORE better resources and bagi, letting you keep all the mods
I don't think removing everything will help. The issue is recent and I've gone through and removed every mod installed BEFORE October 1st.
that is odd, but if the patch log indeed does show the order in which mods are being loaded, i think there is a good chance they're being overwritten. since both better resources and bagi are both solely retexture mods afaik (at least better resources is), that is really the only thing that can cause them to not work properly, to my knowledge

i've had the same issue with better resources, having to manually go in and have certain mods load before it so it wasn't overwritten

When two mods both edit dialogue or images, whichever mod loads last "wins" and is the one you see in the game. you'd need to figure out which mods are loading after the two, and then add them to the manifest.json as a false dependency. this essentially tells smapi to load those false dependencies before the mod with the manifest.json you put the false dependency in

100%. If you're willing, try converting the mods that use TMXL to CP (see https://lemurkat.wordpress.com/2022/03/16/translating-a-location-from-tmxl-toolkit-to-content-patcher/) and if you have CF, try converting them to AT.

It is difficult to separate the impact of TMXL and PyTK as TMXL depends on PyTK
