Fam friends are having a baby and as the resident artist in my fam, it was decided that I'd draw a cute lil picture to then print and gift at the drive by baby shower. (along with diapers that they requested) The nursery is under the sea / underwater themed and I have NO clue what to draw. I definitely need it to be clearly both parents and the baby involved. Everyone's been gushing over mom and baby but I feel like dads getting left out, so he NEEDS to be part of the drawing. idk, I was thinking two big octopi and a baby one?
Also my mom has hi-jacked into this and there is going to be a poem on the picture somewhere (eww but whatever, its a gift from all of us so I'll allow it)

How did you take such a picture of the Andromeda? What equipment do you use? @tender minnow

@warm herald I used a dslr camera and a 200mm lens. If you want to get detail like that you need to take very long exposures but because of the earth's rotation the sky will start trailing unless you have a sky-tracking mount for your camera. This photo is about 80 * 2-minute exposures at F/4.0 and ISO-1600 stacked together.

I'm lucky enough to live in an area far away from the city, so there's not much light pollution which would cause problems. So I usually just take pictures from my garden. But I would like to travel to somewhere nice to make a foreground/nightsky composition

But i find forests really interesting to work at. One of my favourite forest drawings is this picture from Van Gogh (Trees and Undergrowth). I have it hanging in my room and it really calms me down and got this refreshing atmosphere I also used my time today to ride on my bike through the forest. There is so much to look at in autumn

A little bit of progress on my end. I made the tree on the left bigger, used less spray bottle ( ) and tried myself a bit on the forest floor. Now the stage for the character is nearly done. I dont know how i can improve the top part of the picture. Feels a bit weird. Maybe i should make it a bit darker or something?

i would suggest using "hard light" especially if you're doing like a nighttime or a daytime effect (dusty indigo for nighttime, deep gold for daytime)
