Dragon why not try to sketch hands with squares and rectangles and a circle. The Square as the base of the hand and the rectangles as the base of the fingers and the circle the base of where the thumb will start from.

yeah i wouldnt worry about details like wrinkles and such until you get a better understanding of the structure of the hand, how the joins move, where the fingers are and are not able to extend or bend, etc
pretty much any anatomical form can be broken down structurally into geometric-ish shapes

yeah I am sketching a body using geometric shapes to show you how to draw a body, give me a moment to finish the sketch

here is an example of how to draw a body using geometric shapes. For starters Remember to use circles where joints are supposed to be so that when you move a shape like an arm or finger you know where it should start and end, also when drawing legs or arms remember to add circles on the area where they should start to give you and Idea of where the legs and arms should be or start. Do keep in mind to try and sketch certain important things like torso or bottom 3D to give you a sense of how big the part should be when drawing or colouring. Keep in mind that a sketch is not the final drawing its just a reference for the final drawing.

piece of advice when drawing limbs try and making them dynamic instead of sticks, by dynamic I mean for example curved limbs to make the drawing seem more alive instead of stiff

@blissful geyser it really is wholesome!! i'm not a writer by any means but here are my thoughts: i think you could go even further with making the character dialogues and actions unique from each other (if that makes sense?) i love that Brian has his polite mannerisms with tipping his hat. maybe sprinkle in some other details with dialogue tags (youthful chirp vs grumbly, old voice)?
(love the "two lonely old people pretend not to like other people but are actually really caring and warm hearted on the inside" trope)

Hmm I usually try to shade what I think it's the opposite to the light source. I start with a tone a bit darker than the base, and then I take another one a bit more dark to make a second shading layer
Also when shading a semi-transparent layer it helps shading the thing under it too

I do mostly watercolour and they have a lot thicker paper and they are holding the hell out
Like sketchbooks all have different grades in general but sketch and drawing ones are so different

you can do so much with them but they're also so expensive and more anxiety inducing to use than normal paper because there's this weird feeling (for me) where i need to not waste the paper
it's usually why i stick to digital because i won't lose much in terms of resources other than time and effort

this allows the lines to be coloured like the flats and shading!

I love sai better then any other art program I’ve tried (for pc), I like it over photoshop, csp, adobe illustrator, krita ect

guess it depends on preferences - GD prefers sai over other stuff

I’d suggest giving both a run in their free trails and seeing what you prefer, I kinda hate csp’s layout but that’s just my personal preference

i'll check the trials out. krita is great (like PS but for art) but it eats up my laptop's ram and lags so much even if it shouldn't. my laptop's a gaming laptop and it's not that old either. it makes no sense

I’m currently spending every scrap of money I have for an iPad Pro and pencil, then a paperlike screen protector ect, $1600AUD but is 100% worth it in my eyes, and something I’ll use for hopefully years apon years to come

Yeah the mini most people find really bad for drawing, like if you have absolutely nothing else then obviously it’s at least something, but it really lacks a lot of features that the newer bigger model iPads or iPad pros have

I definitely recommend looking into it for anytime you do get some spare cash, saving up is worth it, you definitely won’t regret it especially if you are passionate about your art, and hey, even if you for some reason stopped drawing you can use the iPad for iPady things aha.
Also watching a few artists review on them are really helpful.
The 3rd gen IPad pro is really nice, its in a somewhat affordable pricerange second hand if you are really invested into getting one and have some money saved up, the 4th gen (current new version that you can buy directly from Apple new) doesn’t really have anything better for artists that would make really anyone suggest to buy it over the 3rd gen if you’re on a budget, besides if you want to have a bunch of layers, because the 4th gen has the extra ram which is good for huge canvases, but it’s quite an overkill for most @jagged moss
