I have never posted any art of my own on here before. I’m definitely a beginner but I felt inspired while admiring all the other artworks on here. I was having a conversation with my sister-in-law about a house I technically own but haven’t moved into yet. She was telling me there is an outline to an old door showing on the outside of the house with shingles inside of it and I thought it would be cute to set up... whatever these arches are called in front of it and pretend that it’ll open up to a secret garden. Anyway, since I haven’t moved yet, and I can’t remember what the backyard looks like, I’m waiting for her to take and send me a picture of the area to fill in the background. So other than the lack of scenery and my lazy attempt at pebbles around the stepping stones, any thoughts?

@lament turtle one thing ive noticed about the sdv sprites and art in general os that the npc sprites and portraits all seem to have purply-bluish shading and outlines. maybe tint your shading to be more purple and itll look more like the others. the only sprite that doesnt have this shading is the farmer.

your shading isnt saturated enough, thats why its looking grey. sdv sprites tend to be oversaturated in color especially with the shading, and like i said beforez the shading is also blue-purple tinted.

There was a nice post that a female athlete or bodybuilder did where she showed that even in her shape, sitting down or bending over produced very visible rolls. It's good to remind people that getting to the point where your stomach just looks like a firm sheet of plastic even when bent is not possible.

tbh i tend not to like the label thing, i just consider gender identity to be a component of personality. like i dont see ppl as male/female/ect i just see them as oh yes thats [name]

we're all open minded cause you kinda gotta be to understand art. everyones art is different and thats been the kinda ideology, everyones different and you can always learn from others experiences

I call it something like "volatility of mind". That is, what we call "creativity" is actually both the ability and susceptibility of the mind to deviate from normal or typical thought structures. This is good for thinking of new ideas, but also may cause stuff like, well LGBT stuff and what also seems to additionally be a higher incidence of mental illness among the creative community.

Now I know there's an implication of grouping up LGBT and mental illnesses, but we also have a long way to go to removing the stigma of the latter anyways. I'm more saying they may have a similar, nebulous origin.

(Granted, dysphoria is certainly a mental illness.)

or maybe we see more lgbt people within the art communiity because they are more comfortable expressing and identifying themselves within it, where others in other communitys don't feel as safe.

my theory is more that the welcoming and accepting qualities of the artistic communtiy are higher than other communities, so people who are different feel more comfortable expressing themselves, so we tend to know about more of them, whereas a lot of people might still be in the closet in other places

The shadow is usually the color of the background
