okay so transferring this talk over from the modding channel, i have a wip mod where i'm redoing all crops and foraging art that's about 70% of the way done? and i'm debating if i want to upload it to nexus as a wip or wait until it's finished, but i kind of want feedback on some things so it seems like a good idea to upload? i'm not sure :// i've attached a screenshot of all the stuff i have done, i have to adjust the spangles a little more but then it would be a stable release. Flowers are coded in the game to be different colors upon maturity so you don't need to add more colors tbh

So, this is somewhat modding related, but I wanted some creative minds to help me brainstorm something I'm writing. Basically, I'm planning on adding some TV shows to Stardew Valley, and I came up with these ideas:

• Legends of the Prairie King - A western based on the (mostly) true story of a legendary sheriff.
• Secrets of the Dwarves - An archeologist of questionable sanity documents his theories about how the dwarves came from the stars.
• Gotoro Rescue - The story of a Ferngill spy rescuing a platoon of soldiers from a Gotoro Empire prison camp.

I wanna have at least seven shows, one for each day of the week. I'd like for them to be based on Stardew's lore, or if they're fictional, have a Stardew-like tone and fill some missing genre, like sci-fi or romance. Anybody wanna pitch a show idea to me while I work on getting the mod to work? (Also sorry if this is not the right place for this)

Seven shows, one for each day of the week, and it would be a new episode every day until the series finale, where it would loop back around. Probably would want to make enough episodes for a show to last either one year or two.

hi so i dont have anything to post, but i do have a tutorial (of sorts) on how to make homemade stickers :))))
its really simple and quick and only requires things you probably already have and if you dont can get at staples or the like
-so i use blank box labels because they have a sticky back and i draw whatever i want my design to be on there, color it and jazz
-then i cut out the design- i don't cut it closely, just cut a square-ish shape around it
-then i use clear packing tape and put it over the sticker as a lamination of sorts
-and THEN i close crop the sticker, so that way i dont have to cut it close twice, once without the tape and once for the tape
-and voila a sticker :)) just peel off the back of the box label and stick it on stuff :))
-it might be waterproof, im not sure. ive only placed it on my laptop and sketchbooks. :))))

As for the Inktober fiasco, I think I understand:

• Guy who started and lead Inktober finds it's being appropriated by people trying to make a quick buck, notably those who aren't even really associated with the art community.
• To avoid "corruption" of the term, he trademarks it to protect it. Yes, selective enforcement of intellectual property is a thing, otherwise fanfiction.net and tons of fanart wouldn't exist.
• Lawyer, who may have not understood Jake's intent, goes after every company using the term for merchandise. I've mentioned it before, but a lot of artists work under their own one-employee companies to help with certain business aspects of their work. They were caught in the crossfire.
• Unfortunately there are a lot of artists who have published work or compilations of that work in media labeled something like Inktober gallery or Inktober Art which does break the trademark as it does suggest that it was officially made by or commissioned by Inktober. This is an unfortunate side effect where the intent of the trademark will not match the consequences.
• Artists are free to credit Inktober as a source of their art as long as they don't make it sound like they are officially associated with it. (ie. political cartoons aren't necessarily endorsed by various politicians but use them as inspiration). So an art book with a subtitle beneath the title saying something like "Made for Inktober 20XX" should be fine, or even a title like Gallery for Inktober 20XX. I'm sure artists can contact Jake for advice.
• Ultimately I feel this will benefit the Inktober identity, but there will be an adjustment period and growing pains. If I could recommend anything to Jake, it would be to give exceptions to already existing work in an ex post facto manner or give a generous grace period so that artists can retitle or otherwise adjust their published work.

He didn't say it was okay for artists to make those. He didn't clarify just who he was referring to as "pirates"
It just seems like anyone doing t-shirts and such that had "Inktober" in the title are now being dmca'd and taken down and so on and so forth.
Which is a shitty thing to do imo but ig since he got the trademark, he has every right to now.

I think it will benefit the artists more to stop using "Inktober" altogether and let it fade into obscurity, just doing traditional art in October without claiming it's for that reason. This guy has already shown a "mistake" can happen because of using it. I think it would be wise not to risk it again.

I know it's so popular now that people won't all stop using it at once, and it is fun for some, and not everyone is trying to make a buck off of it or thinking of selling their works post-event.
But for those that are trying to monetize their work, or even rely on it to sustain their way of life, that's the advice I would give.

I just use the basic pen brush with Size by Pressure for firealpaca
though I've also used the base Fluffy brush as well

forgot about marker
i used to use marker but coloring it is rough
since pen brushes are common enough, here's how fluffy and marker both turned out with just base line art

i turned off Opacity by Pressure for the Fluffy brush btw, I believe that's a preset for it

Idk if any of you know what diamond painting is, since it's a fairly new craft... it's basically like paint by numbers/cross stitch but with beads.
