i actually have a couple illustrations of her quirk. some of them aren't bnha specific tho. she's just like that, bnha is just the one 'verse i can use her in where i don't gotta make her human lol.
she has a jaw in the back of her head, basically, but no mouth on her face. her voice sounds kinda scary so she avoids talking whenever possible.
she has tentacles that come out from the jaw, about six of them? they can split open to form extra mouths themselves, but she mostly uses them as extra limbs. although they're very strong, it takes a lot of energy to use them. she can be kinda over reliant on them too, so her physical body is kinda frail in comparison.
they have auxiliary brains in their tips so she doesn't always have full control over them either. she gets anxious about eating in public bc of how her mouth looks, so if she gets extremely hungry, they have a habit of shooting out the back of her head and grabbing whatever food they can and just.......... eating for her. it's a problem.
.......... i think that's all i've got for her so far. i think i rambled too much, rip. sorry about that!! nobody's ever asked me about her before so i got carried away. ^^;;;;;;

well, before i tried her out as a bnha oc, i developed her as an allegory for my mental health issues & autism! her lack of mouth and creepy voice and such spoke to my anxiety, she can't emote very well and naturally people are driven away when she speaks and they see her mouth, so she has a lot of insecurity about it. she's also designed so that she "passes" as "normal", as long as she keeps her mouth shut and doesn't do things like eat in public.
so even as a bnha oc, i kinda kept her insecurity about it bc it's important to her character. in that 'verse, i'd say it's because her quirk is quite scary looking, and she likes cutesy magical girl type heroes more, so she wishes she had a "cute" quirk instead. i think she has a similar problem to tsuyu as well, in that her quirk makes it hard for her to emote properly, so that makes it difficult to connect with others too...

it's kind of a translation of my actual name. Stella = Star = Hoshimi. My name comes from Stella Maris, aka the star of the sea, so Mizuno for the last name bc of the water theme. It's just an attempt to vaguely translate my name to something with equivalent meanings in Japanese.

as for friends, uhhh... i think she gets along with most of the girls in 1-A? Probably mostly Momo and Iida bc they're very studious and level headed and take rules seriously. She's mostly just attached to Aizawa since she's not good at talking to people and she sees a good teacher and feels safe around him so she clings to that. Bakugou scares her a bit. I think she wishes she was invisible like Hagakure sometimes.
Iida isn't a girl I just mean he's got a personality type she'd be able to relax around. He shouts a lot but he's got a very strict moral compass so it's easy for her to predict what will or won't annoy him, so she doesn't have to worry much.

i was rewatching the start of the anime and it just struck me that iida yells a LOT whenever someone breaks a rule lmao. it would totally freak her out at first, she can't do loud or angry people, but especially men who are twice her size. at least iida would probably apologise for it tho.
<she doesn't make a very good hero bc of her anxiety and trauma issues that make her freak out under specific circumstances, but otoh she can keep her head cool under situations that would make normal people start panicking so it's kind of a trade off. such is the life of an anxiety disorder.>
