re: the cat sprite, maaaaybe try to not have the pupils be black. Try to make them just a darker yellow. Gives a better impression of large cat eyes IMHO,

I think it's just a weird optical illusion making it seem weird when it isn't

#

I think the thing with the pupil being all black is that a small sprite looks like a cat to us because our brain is filling in the blanks. But with only two pixels per eye, if we make one of them the pupil, the brain sees a large oval-shaped eye where half of it's the pupil, and it looks 'wrong' even though it really isn't. It's just a perception thing from the brain making sense of so little info because it's amazing. If you use a darker color there, the brain "fills out" the pupil inside the pixel, and doesn't think it's a half-pupil-half-iris eye.

I have a little idea for Stardew Valley, I have an idea for a new NPC! It is a baby dragon that can be randomly encountered in either the normal mines or desert mines as he is of sort a travelling merchant, he could sell dragon scales, dragon eggs (can be incubated), a dragon sword and other rare oddities. He can have a back story of trying to find his mum that’s why he wonders the caves and mines. Perhaps if the player to go deep enough they could find a sleeping dragon or perhaps for a darker, sadder story the skeletal remains of the dragon. I think this would a very cool feature and would encourage the player to venture deeper to help the dragon find his mum. As for the name of the dragon I would probably leave it up to you. I actually feel almost proud about my cat mod.

It seems like it's really a minor edit for each sprite, but... it actually took more than it seems, especially to get all the colors just right in the right shades, especially when multiple colors were involved (I'm looking at you, rainbow cat...)

So to have finished that many and then come up with 3 sweaters that look decent on every cat that can wear them

almost proud.

#

I had originally planned to make only one sweater color for each cat, and adjust it to the design...

#

but it turns out primary colors work great with all of them.

#

So I allowed the choice for any of the 3 colors.
