Well just want to tell you pose are more of amount to get used for , you need to draw at least 1000 quick gesture to get used to it

keep them under 1 minute per pose is a good daily practice for most figure artist

tho only if you up for it

Anatomy you spend more time to draw the muscle structure

Proportion you spend time to learn height , head tall , proportion shape

Gesture you focus only in line of action , pose flow

honestly, proportion would be the best place to start since I always mess up the size and distance of body parts. Arms especcially.

well i am not expert at figure and human drawing but i have seen plenty of recommend of how to start

you can learn through either observe or structure

for starting just learn proportion , aka head tall

so you can easy tell where the torso , pelvis is

after that you can drop proportion for a bit and try gesture

Gesture is observe ability not structure like proportion

Gesture pose often done 15 second to 1 minute or at least 1 - 2 minutes per pose

you will have to remove anatomy and proportion important out of your way

but if you practice proportion for awhile , you may be able to keep the proportion okay even with 30s sketch pose

it is call habit from keep study and practice daily

to practice pose you should google up line of action and dynamic pose

that is what you should be focus only on gesture

get your gesture sketch feel like it has energy flow in it then you will improve a lot at it

after that you can go back to proportion and learn standard anatomy proportion shape ( it is not anatomy just human body overall shape , no muscle focus yet )

after awhile you can try Figure study , observe real life model photo and try to sketch them

the last step would be actually learn anatomy

which you have to take a lot of practice and note about muscle name , position , how they stretch and all

but by the time you good at proportion and gesture you can draw pretty decent

it is more fun to draw as well

try to lower the burden of your feeling with a better way to learn help you have fun and do more effectively

beside you can only learn art from looking and simplified it first

most of the time it's just because we might've missed it

i will say it gets confusing on what to pin sometimes but the big thing is, imo, we all have ocs we like but when we pin something, we're looking for the sdv factor. an oc originating from sdv doesn't necessarily give it a pass

i've mentioned this to you about the pirate thing before as well. your art is great and your oc is cool but it is very much a stretch for us to pin your character decades/centuries in the past since we have nothing sdv to ground that on. we only have your oc, which kind of removes the point of us pinning sdv related things.

even if you say "this is my farmer in x period" we need more than just your oc. it would be much easier for us to pin if you applied it to other sdv characters or show specific elements from the game

it's why i don't always pin farmers even though i try to get them when i can. there are multiple farmers that have been hard to pin for this reason.

on a similar but completely different note also, we usually don't pin image links. but jev just pinned the last one, which is fine. i'm thinking since we can see discord links we might as well update this rule but i'll get back to everyone on that.

and of course, later note, but you don't have to draw your oc fitting these guidelines, do whatever you want with them. you don't have to draw anything with the intention of getting in pins.... actually we'd prefer you not do that. enjoy yourself, and the pins is just a place for us to look at sdv art that we have a common ground for.

Hey hey catto, hope you don't mind a quick input!
It appears your arms are too long. It's not immediately noticeable considering one arm's behind their back and the other is bent upwards, but ideally, when an arm's straightened out and down, the hands should end right below the pelvis or so. If your character were to straighten out their arms, the hands would be a liiiittle too low, I think. It would help if you look at some human diagrams to observe the proportions!

It's something relatively small, but felt that since you were looking for some nitpicks, it'd be okay to share! Overall your art does look very cute, you did nice with the sketch so far. <:

so im trying to imitate transparent glasses (or see through??) and idk if the way i painted it made it look straight up weird or that it doesnt fit or im just imagining things. what do y'all think? (and if the transp glasses just simply dont fit them, what color glasses do u think would be good?)
