there are so many ways to start and improve drawing,like:sketching geometric shapes,build a character or deconstruct the body using them it's all about the basic shapes

you can also look for references get a sketchbook a pen and get to work right away!

I REALLY dislike the idea that you have to have talent to be a artist. That's literally not how it works. It takes time and dedication to study to improve the skill you were born with.

Everyone can draw! Babies can draw! And you can improve that natural born inclination to create with hard work!

yeah talent only gets you so far and most of the time what people call talent is just someone being encouraged to do something from a young age. it can also be detrimental to be "talented" because since all you ever hear is how good you are you might get an inflated ego and never improve. hard work, willingness to fail and accept mistakes, practice, and love for the craft ALWAYS trumps talent, im proof of that myself

i find it almost essential when youre doing character design for clients and need to be flexible with the colors you choose

THe way I do colors is that I do what's essentially a flat color layer to mark more or less what color will go there. Then I duplicate it, and lock the transparent pixels

#

It serves as a mask that way.

#

And I can just go nuts with shading.

In the end, since each color on each thing is an individual layer, if I need to adjust, then it's easy and doesn't really do anything to the other colors.
